  1. Wow...I was not aware that he had children from his previous "marriage" and that is how this came up. I truly wish I had some answers for you. You are definitely in my thoughts and prayers.

I understand that there is no paperwork or marriage certificate involved with a Traditional Marriage in Nigeria, but it was always my thought that even without the "paperwork", a Traditional marriage was something that is highly respected in the Nigerian culture. I have read that some churches will not even marry a couple if they have not had the Traditional ceremony. Maybe I am mistaken.

All due, things happen in God's time. Have faith and keep your head up.

  2. Good Morning VJ family! My husband went for his interview today in Lagos, Nigeria and All Glory Be to God...he was approved. My journey is not ending as we still have to get visa IN HAND and my hubby still wont be here for a few months then the real journey will begin. I just want to say thank you to all the VJ family as I have learned a lot from each of you. I want to thank everyone for sending up their prayers for my husband and me. I especially want to give a "shout out" and special recognition to my Nigerian sister...LAGOSLOVE. She is an angel that reached out to me. We corresponded via VJ messages as well as via phone. She gave me a lot of guidance and sent up a lot of prayers. She is kind and caring and immediately took me under her wing. Tisa (LAGOSLOVE) thank you so much. Words cannot express the appreciation and respect that I have for you. You are a beautiful woman and I can only pray that one day soon, we can meet in person.

Thanks again VJ family. I continue to pray for my journey as well as each and every one of yours!

  3. Dear friend,

We just had our visa interview a week ago today. It was also a very tough consulate--Casablanca. Lots of denials there. I am pleased to report, they approved my husband with no problem. You have all your ducks in a row. If the interviewee knows all the dates and details of the case to answer any questions thrown out there, then just turn it over to God. To help the stress, I did visualization techniques when I was anxious. I pictured my worry wrapped up like a gift box that I was holding. I visualized giving the package to God. I would say a pray like "I am giving this to you. We did all we can and thanks for the happy outcome in advance." I would take several deep breaths. This helped alot in those moments of fever-pitched anxiety...it didn't cure it, of course...only the interview will do that. However, it helps in the moments of overload. Try some visualization. Picture a good outcome. Believe it. Be thankful for it in advance. Things that belong together cannot be kept apart. Congrats on getting this far. Just alittle long. Keep me posted! :star:

Thank you very much. I will try just that. Congrats on your approval. Some people think that the approval is the end of all of this, but it is not, hence it is just the beginning, the beginning of a life together with your loved one.

God Bless you and your hubby

  4. Ok, my husbands interview is coming soon, in 13 days to be exact. Even though I have put it all in God's hands, the closer we get to the interview date, the more stressed I get. My stomach is just in knots.

I am not concerned with my husband not being able to answer any questions because he knows everything about me and my family. We have our evidence ie. phone records, yahoo chats, bank account together in Nigeria, he is added to my lease here in USA, he has many...many pictures, letters from his mother, my mother, a co-worker of mine as well as another friend of mine verifying the bona fides of our relationship. I am not concerned about needing a co-sponsor as I make more than enough on my own as per the 125% poverty guidelines.

What troubles me is that he is going through one of the most difficult consulates, Lagos. It sems that the CO of the consulate can decide what ever he/she wants no matter what evidence or proof is provided. I have seen so many denials as well as being put in AP processing through this consulate.

I am claiming this visa for my husband or shoud I say, for us. I have been and will continue to pray, not only for my husband and me, but for all that are going through this visa journey as well as the interviewer that my husband will face.

Any and all prayers that you can send up for us will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you and God Bless you all.

  5. Ohhh...that is wonderful news. I spoke to Lagoslove (Tisa) lastnight to make sure her hubby's flight took off as scheduled. I have been wanting to call her today to make sure he arrived safely, but on the same token, I didn't want to disturb them. Thank you so much for posting his safe arrival. All Glory Be to God for a safe arrival as well as a completed visa journey.

  6.

I have been referred to three places:

    1. Biscourt Apartments, Lekki (I guess they do short term accommodations).

    2. Royal Tropicana Hotel (This one is a little expensive N15, 750 for a standard room BUT it's in VI.

    3. Lekki Astoria Hotel. (This one is 20 mins from VI). For a Mini Standard room it's N10, 500

Anyways my dear I will continue to inquire and let you know what I find. Remember not to book anything online instead make sure your husband will go to any hotels you direct him to first to make inquiries.

    Take Care.

Thank you so much for the information....

  7. Whats the Time for your interview.Hotels in Lagos Island is Expensive, are you coming with a ride to the embassy..u can stay in your ride overnite, cos the island is always lively all nite

Yes my husband had his own vehicle...but :wow: really...to stay in his truck all night???!!!!! You cannot be serious!!! My husband and I are very serious about his interview and no matter how lively the island is...he will not be sleeping in his truck rather he will be in a bed, getting some sleep so that he will be well rested for the big day. Thanks, but no thanks
