    Hey Everyone,

I hope you all had a good Eid!

Let me tell you the summarization of this entire AP story:

Trump took office > initiated several attacks on legal immigration > resulted in departmental confusion and additional delays in ALL immigration departments, this includes the following: USCIS, NVC, and DHS.

Check recent news; if he's causing further delay (of several additional months) for citizenship applicants, what do you think will happen with immigrants abroad?

We're essentially the least of priorities for these immigration authorities. We are at the very bottom of the backlogs.

Look, this isn't meant to upset you or make you miserable .. this is meant as an eye opener because this is the new reality, unfortunately.

All couples here must quickly adjust to this new reality: live together and ignore the immigration process altogether, until AP is uplifted.

I know it'll be hard for some, and impossible for others, but it's the only option ahead.

This is all coming from someone who has faced the hardest of choices and the worst of consequences due to AP process, literally.

I will reveal certain things in the right time, but for now, I just gave you the best advice there is.

In shaa Allah khair for everyone.

100% Truth here... Same boat 27 months in AP with his passport  held at Embassey only to be sent back to US for what  they say was because it stayed in AP for too long.  So now it requires them to reaffirm it.. looking at another 8 months at best... if we're lucky.. total nightmare!

  2. I'm not sure about any of the legal aspects you've mentioned.  personally I've learned to sit and wait patiently.  This is my 2nd go at this. The 1st time was very proactive and it worked against me .They requested everything from me from the beginning and I had foolishly sent them all of my origionals. It literally took me years to collect it all again.  I ended up giving up and my case was considered abandoned so this go around I'm just waiting it out. It's a living nightmare and Inshaa Allah it will be over sooner than later.  We just ask God everyday to solve this for us.  I wish I had more to offer you but these people I think they  kind of get pleasure out of keeping us In this mental prison and holding our lives in limbo.

  3. It really scares me to go the law suit path.. First because of the extensive cost of it.  From what I've seen people are paying upwards of 100k 😯... I'm not poor by any means but that's more than my pockets have.  2nd because of retaliation from the Embassy..God knows they love to see us suffer.  it's been going on 26 months in AP for me.  what about you?

  4. Has anyone else received the message That Their "Case is Expiring Soon " This is the 2nd time now that they gave me this message .. It's very frustrating when you've done everything they've asked and they send you messages like this as if we haven't totally fulfilled our obligations.. I t seems they forget they themselves have put us in suspension only waiting on them to do their part... So annoyed right now!! .. I've mailed them yet again and asked them to update my case.. will post when something changes :(

The age difference between me and my wife is 20 years. Is this a reason for rejection?

The consul in the interview did not talk about age ...

After the interview, the consul told me when we call you send your passport
I'm still in AP 7 month next month i will be 8 month

any one have any news :(:(

    There's only 2 yrs between my husband and I and we've been AP for 22 months. 😔.. I personally don't think it's a factor.

Welcome back @Halalbrother bro, it's good to see you again.

I hope you are well, always ya rab.

The truth is there's a rule and an exception. What I was talking about was the rule, and what you mentioned is the exception. Every case is different, there are so many factors that come into play with the initial decision (given during the first interview or after 120 days).

Today, and this maybe news for most of you guys, there are deliberate delays for almost all cases, and most cases are finished within 1 and a half to 2 years time.

The reported delays are not just limited to Cairo's embassy anymore, but also involve almost ALL U.S embassies around the world. I have this from a reliable source. A lot of people are already complaining about this.

After trump, expect anything and everything. They're using U.S immigration law that allows AP as a cover for this delay, this I'm 100% sure of.

I'm also sure that everything is destined to be, and it's all for own good in shaa Allah.

About AP, I've been in AP for at least 1 year and 2 months.

Feeling your pain ... 21 months sitting in AP😞

I have a question I can’t check ...ceac.state.gov....something is changed tomorrow I will call NVC find out what happened any one ...

When you say changed do you mean you can't get in to check your status? I think the site is having some problems because I haven't been able to get in to check mine as well  since Friday. If you mean something else please explain.

The type of petition case is Form I-130 (this is what you filed), and the type of visa you receive varies on 2 things:

    -The relationship length.

-The type of visa case (IR1 or CR1) you choose when you register on ustraveldocs.com.

The latter being a very important step, you shouldn't (and must not) mistaken both types during the creation of the profile (prior to your appointment).

Successful applications are usually ones that choose the type of visa/case correctly during profile creation.

You said you were put into CR1? I don't believe so. I think you or your husband choose the wrong category during that stage.

Well.... then that is a very tough lesson to learn much after the fact.  I wish I'd had know this info beforehand.... 😕

  9. I think I'm a little confused.. by the previous message about CR1 vs IR1.

I was married to my husband for 6 yrs before we first filed but we were put  into category CR1.  Did I mistakenly file for the wrong thing ( 1-130) or is it something that USCIS chooses which category (CR1 vs IR1) to put you in?

    Thank you in advance😊

Thank you for your insight... while I wish this on no one, it does feel good to know that we are not alone in this nightmare. Having this little bit of info is more than we've gotten from anywhere else. at least now we have some kind of idea of what's going on.  Thanks again! and I wish Inshaa Allah that we are reunited with our loved ones soon.

I'm really sorry to hear that, but when it comes to immigration they don't consider kids or marriage as a good reason for the visa or even the country situation now, it's only process and we will have to wait until they finish their work, I had same nightmare brother, but just be patient it will be issued soon in Sha Allah.

I wish Inshaa Allah... Thank you for your support!

we have been on AP since June this year. yeah when I call NVC I get the same thing but when the supervisor called me obviously they have access because she was able to review the notes. Inshallah Kheer but I'm not going to believe it's over until she gets the visa in her hand.

    Yasser

so I encourage everyone to call and ask to speak to a supervisor.

Inshaa Allah...I wish your misery ends soon😊.... and thank you for sharing.. i will be calling on Monday.. I'll keep you posted... any news is better Than no news.

she said the embassy is wrapping up the AP and notes says they will contact my fiance soon to request to send a new medical exam and her passport.

Was that the NVC here in the states or the embassy there in Cairo? Because i have also called the NVC here some time ago and they told me that they didn't have access to my file info. however i didn't speak to a supetvisor either.  if i may ask... how long have you been in AP? we've been therre since June 2016.☹

    17 months uff why ??

who knows.. had Congress grey involved and everything.. they Just said when their done they'll let us know. all they wanted to finalize our visa was his divorce paper, his daughters birth certificate and his family history. which we gave them 2 days later. they've  been sitting on it now since June 23, 2016. very frustrating.
