  1. I hope you understand your Fiance's situation. Money is tight and not easy to find nowadays. Be compassionate to your Fiance and try to understand him. Just imagine how much is the difference in terms of the amount since he is paying for 2 tickets. You may not know how hard he works to earn the money to pay for the flights. Most of the Americans use Credit Cards and that will still need to pay later. Remember you are going to live and share life with him sooner and forever. Whatever savings that you and him could generate from the purchase of plane tickets that would be a great help later. Learn to appreciate all the goodness and blessings that you have. Keep loving and be patient always ! God bless you and your daughter to your jouney in America :)

    thanks :D

  2. Hi there! I just wanna share with you my experience, hope this helps. I just thought you need to wait for you and your daugther's visa at hand before you pay for your plane tickets. Since you will still have to go for interview on Nov 25...make sure that you have enough time so you won't have problems later. When I had my interview, I got approved on the day, but it was already like 2 weeks I didn't get my visa yet, mostly they receive like within 3-7 days only. Later then I called up US Embassy and knew that my visa was printed on the following day after interview but the visas of my 2 kids were printed later almost 2 weeks after mine. I really didn't expect it. There was no problem on my kids documents, but it wasn't printed same day with me. I suggest if you really intend to fly on your chosen flight schedule, you got to inform or request the CO to expedite your visa release, granting that you got approved after the interview. Have a nice trip and God bless ! :)

    thanks :D

  3. Your wedding day is exactly 15 days after your interview, that really is not much time built in for any kind of delay at the embassy level, which is out of your control.

The only thing you can do is wait until you have the visa in your hand. There is no way you can book a flight now, you have no idea what might happen with the interview or how long it will take you to have the visa in your hands.

yeah you are right...we need to move the wedding day

  4. my fiance and i had a bit of argument...he checked on expedia to check flights for dec 3, which is the suppose date i am planning to leave the philippines...what he learned is that buying tickets 4 days before dec 3, doubles the price of the ticket...but we cannot buy it yet until after nov. 25, which is my interview date and after the visa is in my hand (some say 6 days before u get visa)....

He is taking the option into letting me and my daughter have 2 stop over...so that it would be cheaper...but will take me and my daughter 9 hours more flight...then he said, "we wont be buying tickets double the price" i answered back and said "i wont be flying 9 hours more"...then we hanged up the phone...pissed off :(

can someone give me a suggestion please on what to do???

let me just add...our wedding date is dec 10

  5. You're limited as to what you can do. Of course the airlines will charge a premium on tickets purchased so close to the day of departure.

    1. The only way around it is to get a flight 7-14 days prior to the day you want to fly, the further out from the target day of departure the better off you are.

    2. Get one of those around the world (not really around the world, but one that takes you everywhere but where you want to go) flights with more than 1 or 2 layovers.

    3. Pay top dollar for the privelege of flying with little advanced purchase.

Not much else you can do, you guys have gone through this long process, why fight now.

Pay top dollar, get a flight with more layovers or book the flight with 7-14 days prior to departure.

--our wedding date is dec 10, but i guess we just need to move it---

  7. I got my dress at Tutuban mall in Divisoria... if you go there... you will get overwhelmed with the wedding dresses... Since I know beforehand that we will be having a beach wedding, i purchase a simple white dress fit for a beach wedding... and brought it with me in my carry on luggage, the gown has all the space of the 1/2 portion of the luggage to keep it from getting crumpled... cheaper and practical...

i wonder how big is your carry on luggage for your wedding dress to fit? did the whole wedding dress occupied the carry on luggage?

  8. This sets a record for age difference I've ever seen. I'm an OLD FART at 50 and my Finacee' is 33. I've seen more vaste age differences. You say the Parents agree and Documents in order meaning: You make the money to purchase a 21 year old.

How is this going to function in American Society? Americans are sick hunting for a child Overseas. This is WRONG. And YOU KNOW IT. As I said: Just where should a line be drawn about Americans going Overseas and take advantage of these young ladies.

I hope for your Approval of your Petition and get exactly what you asked for. I don't mean to be Negative but this is to much for me to handle. Let her go and find another closer to your age. That would mean you care about her.

    SUPER AGREE!!!!!

  9. I suggest you do it here while waiting. If you can draw, try to design gowns now and pick the best you like. Just look for more gowns... you may still see something you'll like more. Share it to your fiance and see how he likes it. When you get there, at least no more rush where to go and all that....and the shoes too.

    thanks

great suggestion...im also feeling thinking of divisoria...i might visit today :) I wonder if i would ask them to sew a wedding dress for me (just teacup style, above the knee) how long would they be able to finish?

Thanks for reminding me about the shoes...

I got mine in the Philippines too but I got one from the mall. It's a simple one as we were just doing a small wedding ceremony here in the US. The gown cost me only a few thousand pesos whereas if I got the same style here, it would have costed more.

In what part of the Philippines are you from?

    im residing in quezon city

  12. my fiance send me money for my dress.

    reasons:

1.cheaper here than in the US

2.i can choose the design i like,

3.something to get busy while waiting for the NOA 2

    4. bonding moments with my relatives and friends here for checking the good design for me and

    5. my fiance doesn't like to see the wedding dress til the wedding day for he wanted to surprise himself.

Look for a bridal shops in your area that sew wedding dresses and check on their samples to see if they sew great. bring the picture of the dress you like and compare their prizes and their works. then decide.

thanks for the reply...im thinking of that too...i know a dress in USA that cost like a thousand dollars for them would only be costing few hundreds here in the Philippines...but i was wondering if im thinking it right...thanks for the response...your reasons is what im thinking as well...i will tell my fiance this :)

  13. Hi VJ members...would just like to get ideas from PINAYS...where do u plan to purchase your wedding dress? would it be better here? I do have a photo of what i wanted, got it from the internet (simple teacup wedding dress), and i am planning to have a couturier to sew it for me...do you think that would be the best thing to do? and if yes, could please someone suggest me where to go? like if someone had tried visiting a bridal shop to sew her wedding dress in the philippines. And if someone feels like its better to get the wedding dress in the US?

Any response would be appreciated...thanks gurls in advance

  14. Also, if there was an annulment it is a must to bring the official reason for the annulment. My fiance purposely left it in Mindanao even though I asked her twice to bring it. She had the annulment papers just left the reason back home because she didn't want to be embarrassed about it. There are only a few reasons to get an annulment, the main reasons being bigamy and psychiatric. Either she would have to go back there or have somebody able or willing to send it. After they have it you have to pay an additional 1000 pesos to see a psychiatrist, then they will let her continue to immunizations if she passes that. Needless to say, I was a little upset she left that behind.

Thanks for this...i am annulled to but with a different reason (no parents consent)...this would really help.

  15. on your interview day u need these docs., annulment decision, finality- u can get this doc. in the court where ur annulment was granted, annotated marriage contract from NSO, NBI with AKA, maiden name aka married name... u need to fill up DS- forms.. 156, 156k, 157... and CENMAR...

    good luck! :yes::thumbs:

THANKS ALOT..I JUST WONDER HOW LONG WOULD THAT TAKE ME IF I REQUEST THE CERTIFICATES FROM THE COURT? HMMM...
