  1. They have no concept of Customer Service. They seem to think they are the only airline who flies to the Philippines and we should be happy to use them despite how poorly they treat customers.

Just getting a hold of a person on the phone is like trying to find El Dorado then when you do get someone they act like they hate you personally!

I just want to know if they allow using a "Balikbayan box" for one of your pieces of checked luggage.

Honestly this single ticket we bought for Anna's trip next month is the only time we will ever use them even if we have to pay double!

I'm sorry you have had a bad experience but I've flown them a few times and have had nothing but an amazing experience. I would rate them as the best airline I've ever used.

Also, I've had no problem contacting them when I needed to. Are you calling them within normal business hours or not? (check their site)

  2. We have the same rights as a citizen except we can't vote.

Not true at all. You are not afforded the same rights as guaranteed to all American citizens by the Constitution of the United States of America. When you become a citizen, then you will have those rights. Until then, you do NOT have the right to own property, peaceful assembly, or any of the others ones listed in the Constitution or declared by law.

  3. Great news! Just curious, is there a reason you went the route of fiancé visa verses getting married in china and submitting I-130 which I hear can be faster. I am engaged to a Canadian and we both live in china. We are trying to figure out if better to get married in Canada, USA, or china based on speed of getting the visa.

It was mainly just timing on our part. We weren't ready to be officially married yet. I had some things in my life and she has some things in hers that we wanted to wrap up before we transition into a married life. We thought it would be best for us to get married in US (and have a Chinese wedding at a later date).

  4. Hey guys,

My fiance and I got our NOA2 on September 15th, it was received by NVC on September 30th. At this point I was expecting a 1-3 month wait because some members here have said that K-1 Visas are sent by DHL and take 1-3 months before GUZ receives them. However, GUZ received our package on September 30th and sent the first letter to my fiance on the same day.

    Just a heads up

  5. No expedite requested, and no bribes, lol. We just faithfully did our research and made sure our evidence for the relationship/making sure we've seen each other in the past two years was solid. I think the wisest advice I've gotten from VJ was to file your petition as if the adjudicator knows NOTHING about your relationship (because they don't). We painted a very cohesive and chronological story about how we met, how we became friends and how we fell in love. All the evidence we submitted just supported our story in a very logical way.

Sorry, but that's not why you got approved ahead of everyone. Someone made a mistake and put your packet in front of people that should have gone before you

  6. It just feels so impossible sometimes. You have this person you care about who you want to be with, but theres all these things that make it so hard to be with that person...(sigh) :(

I guess the reason im negative is because ive had bad fortune my whole life. I always try to help do whats right but always get kicked in the face, so i feel every attempt i will make for happiness will end bad.i just want to be happy and help the one i love for life.

Dude, no wonder you always have "bad luck". You come across as someone who gives up easily. If you really really wanted to meet her then you could. Everyone on this forum did just that and some of them were in much worse situations than you. Stop trying to play the pity card, man up (how old are you? Seriously, you sound really young and immature) and go meet her. You really do NOT want to marry someone you haven't met within the last 2 years anyway, trust me... the odds that it will be successful just aren't very good.

Stop crying and either go see her or don't... if you don't go see her its not because of bad luck, its because you just didn't want to enough.

  7. In case you are talking about what I originally thought you were talking about! This answer is NO, Fiancee Visas can not use NVC Electronic processing! Here is a link from the Consulate in Guangzhou!

    http://guangzhou.use..._petitions.html

That link actually contradicts what you say...

    "What about K visas?

The NVC electronic processing project for K visa (fiancée/spouse non-immigrant visa), has different procedures. For these cases, although the petitions are loaded electronically, the U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou still contacts visa beneficiaries to provide more documents prior to interview scheduling.

If you are a K visa applicant and you have opted in for electronic processing, you will still have to wait for paper instructions via mail from the Consulate."

That bottom part refers to packet 3

  8. Hard to say. I cannot comment in regards to China specifically, but the "reasonable" standard is applied and influenced by culture for sure. Keep in mind that 3 months is viewed differently for couples living in close proximity to one another compared to those in a long distance relationship.

For me 3 months is incredibly too short regardless of distance/proximity or culture and if someone I cared about (ei my younger sister) was pursuing marriage with someone they'd just met I'd be concerned and voice it. You have the rest of your life, I understand you want that to start as soon as possible, but I would caution my loved one to wait. Good things come to those who wait.

    Good luck.

Just wanted to know what GUZ thinks, not concerned about impressing you. Thanks though

  9. I agree with everyone who posted but this situation will be a red flag at the visa interview especially in high fraud countries.

They apply a "normal person" standard and it's strange that you meet and get engaged in a week. This is what the CO will be thinking.

Consider waiting longer before you file.

    Good luck!

Is 3 months from meeting to engagement considered okay in a country like China?

  10. Is it YOUR photo in the dictionary next to "Monday Morning Quarterback" or is it next to "Hindsight is 20/20"? Too late for that.

I was asking why he didn't do that, not advising him that he should have done that. There is a difference.

Is it YOUR photo in the dictionary next to "irritable"? 10 cents says you get upset by your own medicine :)

  11. Sorry, any I-129F petition bound for Guangzhou -

some are sent via DHL and SAFEFILE

    others are sent SAFEFILE SOLELY

it's totally the discretion of NVC, USC Petitioner cannot OPT IN, it's just not possible.

    BUT.

same pipe, system, network, called SAFEFILE, is used to 'send' the casefile from NVC to ANY EMBASSY with a SAFEFILE connection.

Some ppl get lucky, have SAFEFILE solely.

as to 'electronic' ? ya, it's an electronic network, that SAFEFILE thingie - but for I-129Fs? is NOT electronic processing (re: CR-1/2,IR-1/2/4/5) - there's no INTAKE at NVC by the petitioner or beneficiary.

There's some scant mention of this at the bottom of http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/nvc_pilot_program_of_electronically_processing_visa_petitions.html but it's written 'as if' a K visa filer has an OPTION for this, when in FACT there is no OPTION for the USCitizen, it's solely at the discretion of NVC and GUZ IV to use the casefile image (SOLELY) stored in SAFEFILE, or not.

If you've not stumbled across pushbrk before - go wary, aye? He has a habit of pushing language, to the point to seeming to be rude.

Thanks Darnell, that's what I was wondering about.

I wasn't trying to advise the original poster that he should have done electronic, I was just wondering why he did not do it. You answered my question, thank you! :D

  12. Great question. Wish I knew where to sign up. My understanding is that it is not up to the petitioner. NVC processes a small number via safefile at their own discretion.

If it was an option I wish it was in the guides.

I saw this thread and immediately emailed my attorney. He said his cases have all been sent electronically to GUZ... not sure how that happened. Was just wondering
