  1. We are in the same situation. Although for me, I used my maiden name in the whole process, thinking that we can always do name change after I get there. But it looks like it would cost more, so we decided to try changing it before I get there. What I'm planning to do now is have my passport renewed under my married name so that before the interview, the passport that I'll be submitting will be under my married name, the visa and green card will follow the name on the passport. When I went to the medical, I used my passport under my maiden name, so the sticker and stamp is in it. But I called the US Embassy and they said, I can just bring my old and new passport to the interview.

My interview is on Nov 2.

  2. Hi,

I'm scheduled for my interview on Nov 2. I currently have a passport, but I'm trying to have my name changed to my married name. Unfortunately my passport might not be delivered on time. Will it be ok to go through the interview without my new passport yet? Then just go back once I have my new passport?

Anyone who had to go through same situation?

    Thanks!

  3. I did our photos for the report of marriage to the exact size with no issue. The consulate accepted it. I used a very clear white background and came out fine. I did take several photos to make sure I used the clearest one with no shadows or discoloration. The funny thing about it is when you paste it to the form the boxes that you paste it to are smaller than the 1.77 x 1.37

  4. The forms necessary to report the marriage are on the NY Consulate website. I felt like that packet was more of a hassle to put together than any NVC documents. The NY consulate only sends the information to the DFA about once per month and their Customer Service Representatives couldn't even tell us when the batches go out. They were not that helpful. That being said, I'm certain that you can at least change the passport and send a copy of it to the NVC to ensure your greencard matches. If NVC is complete, you should also be able to change it at the US Embassy prior to the interview. They have a form for that as well.

  5. Hi,

I already asked this in Philippine forum, but I wanted to check if there are other opinions too..

Should we send Police clearance in my maiden name or married name? We have been using maiden name in the forms, however the way police clearance is prepared here in the Philippines, if you want to have your police clearance in your maiden name, it will say "single".. so I got two copies, one in my maiden name which says "single" as my status and another copy for my married name with "married" as status.. Which copy should I send to NVC? or is it ok to send both?

    Thanks in advance..

  6. We are getting ready to send the DS-230 and the corrosponding documents. My wife got the NBI clearance a few weeks ago and they gave her one that shows her Maiden Name and status of "single" and one that shows the family name and "Married." My question is which one do we send in. As of the date of NBI Clearance, we were married. Is it going to cause any problems if we send the NBI with her Maiden name or should we send NVC the NBI with the Family name?

Does the embassy during the interview want to see the Maiden name?

    Thoughts?

  7. The medical is walk in only once you get the NVC case number. Have you called & gave the NVC your guy's e-mail addresses?

You need to do that and then look at the wiki and have your spouse send an e-mail for the ds-3032 in that exact format. Then you guys will get an e-mail with login info for the payment portal for the AOS & IV bills.

    Thanks..

How do I schedule the interview? Will I be getting a date from the US Embassy or should I be the one to set an appointment?

Also, what are the packet 3 and 4?

    Thanks again..

  8. We e-mailed out DS-3032 (Agent of Choice), used the template from VJ and it was accepted without issue.

I think you're confusing Electronic Processing which is only available for a limited numebr of countries.

You're right.. That's where I got confused about.. Anyway, we emailed it and it was good! Thanks!
