  1. Hey May Team...just checking in to say hi. I updated my blog cos we put our adjustment application in last week so let's hope it goes well and we can all meet up in those forums, too. Say hi if you drop by the blog! Thinking of you, guys. I was thinking if we had won the lottery how awesome it would be to have sent all the May team a welcome to America bonus cheque! but alas, we didn't even buy tickets here in Key West...dreams only I'm afraid!

  2. I'm still here! Hello! Me&him and southcal i've checked the may team just a few times in the last month because AS YOU WILL find out...there's a lot that distracts you once you're finally together. Keep going you're nearly there and I bet I'm not the only one checking in (hi Team Katman!)

Well we're married now i put a few pics on the blog. I'm drinking a margarita on our roof in key west expecting to wake up from this wonderful dream at any moment...the wait will feel like a walk in the park once you're together. May Team unite nobody will be left behind!

  3. Woohoo! Just checked in on the May team to see that me&him has progressed to the Embassy and Kat has been approved. Nice going, folks. I'm flying over to Florida in 11 days and then we're getting married in NYC on Feb 10th! I think I'm going to be just as confused about the gadgets and gizmos as Amy, Ray-j. When I was there last time I had to be shown how to use the washer!

  4. My goodness I totally understand although I am the beneficiary and will be heading over next year. I got my visa delivered today hurrah! This is not a plug for my blog at all but I have found it has helped with the nosy, ignorant people as well as the genuinely interested. Perhaps it's an easy way to tell everyone who wants to know and keep the blank stares at bay. That's how I've personally coped with the exact issues you have described. Good to know we're not alone!

  5. Wow, folks. I got approved for the visa in London last Friday and have come on to see some updates (hurrah for approvals) and sad news southcalhog. It's been a rollercoaster for us all, and I realised once again this journey has ups and downs that throw massive perspective on what is important in life.

Hope you're all surviving- enjoy the blog if you read it in my signature :)

  6. Well I just called today and was told same as the email. The lady was really nice and gave me lot of information and answered lot if questions none that could really help me. She also said if no decision is made my january 2012 to call back and see what they can do. This is really crazy. At least before I had a time limit like 60, 30,15 days but now she basically said she cant tell me anything besides to wait till january and call back if I dont hear anything. I just wanted to post this as my last status to let my may filers know. I just wanna thank everyone for the prayers and support. I will now just be leaving this site till I get an approval and have some kind of good news in my life. I will only post and come back till I get that approval. Good luck to everyone and hope no one goes through the nightmare like mine ever.

Totally respect the choice to not post until approval. It can be stressful waiting but even if you're not here you will NOT be forgotten. Can't wait for you to hear about your case and share your news.

  7. Following is advice only. It doesn't replace a face to face consultation and I don't want to face retribution if it doesn't work! I'm assuming it's lower back and is due to the travel and lifting you described. If you have lost weight recently, have numbness, tingling etc then please go see someone. Otherwise you can try:

Lie down on the floor on your front, then push your upper body up using your hands until your arms are as straight as possible, with your legs relaxed and hips on the floor if poss. Try to 'relax' in that shape for up to 5 slow breaths. If you're not sure what I mean Google 'Mackenzie' position for back pain.

Relax, really relax, your back will be stiffening up so try to stop that happening by continually moving and not tensing your surface muscles. Don't sit still for more than 10 minutes. Do shoulder circles and gently move move move. Just walk around the room if you have to. If it's a disc, if it hurts to bend forwards, do back bends, if it hurts to do back bends, do forward bends...make sense? It should right itself within 3 days or you should see someone if it gets worse. Do pelvic floor exercises to encourage your deep supportive muscles to stay active and keep breathing slowly.

  8. So my fiance called USCIS again, this time to see if our case had been assigned to a supervisor yet. He said the CSR guy he spoke with was really nice but he wouldn't put my fiance through to a Tier 2 Immigration officer. At first the CSR guy said that we should have received our approval by now, and he would go ahead and put in a service request. (Yippee!!) Then he did his bit on the computer at his end, and finally said, "Oh, looks like you are still in the normal processing time, I can't put in a service request..." blah blah blah. He said the immigration officer wouldn't be able to tell him if our case has been assigned to a case officer yet because cases are only adjudicated when they are approved or need additional information. Our case hasn't been approved yet because it hasn't been adjudicated yet. *sigh*

I kind of don't feel anything anymore, just numb about this whole sucky process. My fiance is going to call again on our 6-month mark, Nov 18... see if they say anything different.

Gah, I came on to see if you had been approved yet because I remember you were still waiting. Keep breathing it will happen! Congrats to Sabrina and everyone who is approved! We're nearly at interview stage now that T has a job in Key West so I'm waiting to hear when I go to London. It feels like I should walk there I'm so good at taking things 'one step at a time' now haha

  9. Hi folks. I had my medical yesterday in London and i wrote it up on my blog (click my signature) if anyone is interested.

More importantly, I met a man in the waiting room who filed in DECEMBER last year. They were refused, appealed...he was so weary with it all and was shaking his head when I told him we filed in May.

It made me think about you guys still waiting. He had a long wait but he was sitting there finally at the next stage. It WILL happen, stay strong...I know you'll just read this and go to the next post but I mean it. Stay strong it's going to really happen to you too.
