  1. I don't understand your answer. If the bottom of your green card says Vanessa Karla D. Santos then it is correct. If the bottom is not correct, then you can have it replaced with the correct name. You do that by filing an I-90 with a letter explaining it was their mistake, so you don't need to pay the fee.

I am sorry im confusing you, what I meant, at the back of the card at the bottom part it has my correct name which is SANTOS<<VANESSA<<KARLA<<DAGATAN that is how it was put in. my concern is in the front of the card the one with the picture, it has only my Surname : Santos /// Given name : Vanessa K. That is only it, my name was shortened.and I am afraid it will cause a problem for traveling back to the Philippines...my SSN,and state card has my complete name. and im on my way to get a permit for driving, I am also concern there might be discrepancies because of the lapses.

    thank you for helping out

    Vanessa

  2. Hi everyone,

I hope somebody can help me out with my confusion...I have search for answers but unfortunately I have no luck of getting direct answer. My situation is, I just received my GC last friday, Jan 14, 2012. Now as I checked, everything is correct except for my name, it was shorten. say the correct name should be Vanessa Karla D. Santos but in my Green Card it was only Vanessa K Santos...but when i checked at the back of the card at the bottom part, it has my correct name Vanessa Karla Dagatan Santos. What should I do? Do I need to call USCIS and informed them and request online for I-190 replacement, or do I need to have INFOPASS or the card I have which has my shorten name is correct, which i doubt.

    Hoping for help,

    Vanessa

  3. Look at the bottom of the card and see if you don't find your full name.

hi pushbrk, at the back bottom part of my Green Card it has my correct given name and last name, only in the Front view of the card it only says Vanessa K -as given name and Santos as last name that is Vanessa K Santos...it should have been Vanessa Karla D.Santos..do you think i need to call USCIS for this and request for replacement of the card?

  4. Hi everyone,

I have a problem with my green card,i just received it today. say my name is Vanessa Karl Dagat Santos, I know for a fact if it is here in the US my middle name is karla. but when i check my card it only say, Vanessa K Santos..would that cause a problem when i will travel?? because my karla was put in as letter K only and not the full name?...Do i need to call USCIS, and request the card to be change or my card is valid and does not have wrong information...but when i check at the back of my card at the bottom part it says my complete name including my mom's maiden name.it's only on the front view along with biographical information.

I hope someone can help me out with my confusion.

    Thank you,

    Vanessa

  5. Hi everyone,

I hope someone can help me with my concerns.I am already here in the US POE dec 11,2011 with a status of as a LPR- IR2 (GC HOLDER)

    My concerns are :

    a. I have already filed for my SSN and i just got my requested card number, for me to be able to apply for a job since the physical card will not be mailed till 10 days . My concern is that the lady from SSA told me that my name is too long that and it might not fit to the card, but she have work that up and i will be getting my Social security card w/ my full name.she actually did said SSA will be sending 2 cards for me since the first card w/c was requested yesterday is not giving the correct one ex.. it should have been karla marie santos cruz, but it was put as karlamarie santos cruz...so she have requested one again for me today which means i am receiving two.now my question is is that possible they will be sending 2 cards?

    b. I am also getting a state card and a drivers license but i have to wait for the physical SS card to arrive, i am confused if what exactly should i put in my name. I am from the Philippines, so we have the first name which is karla marie, the middle name is Santos which is considered the mother's maiden name, and the last name is Cruz..All of my documents has my middle name as SANTOS, here in US they considered MARIE as my middle name.is it okay, if they will tell me my name is too long and it will not fit in the card can i put in KARLA MARIE CRUZ? disregarding the SANTOS? will that cause a problem, if i will travel back to the Philippines?

    c. Do i still have to get EAD?

    d. I have daughter, she is 7 yrs old she is an illegitimate child. as a GC holder can i get her since she is a minor, will she be considered as F2A? i just got here in the US dec 11.

    e. and lastly, i have my partner but he is not the father of my baby.we are considering to get marry next yr hopefully.if we get marry will that affect with the petition that i will be processing for my daughter ?if granted we will be married he will be considered as f2A also, is that correct?

I am sorry if my questions come out to be annoying, but i hope someone can spare me some ideas

    Thank you.

  6. Hi everyone :)

I am going to have my interview on December 28, I just would like to ask what are the documents that I need to bring with me just to be sure, do i still need to bring pictures of me and my mom? do i need my mom to make another copy of affidavit of support?

I appreciate your answers, thank you.

Hi, bring all the docs that is necessary...stuff like the taxes copy of the petitioner, your CENOMAR, BC,you can also bring pic coz i also did but they actually did not asked for it...just dont bring your cellphone, camera and usb though it will not be allowed at USEM.

    Good luck!!!

  7. Hi everyone, this question may be asked many times but i hope somebody will be able to help and advised me to what needs to be done.

My POE here in the US was just last week dec 11, 2011. I am an IR2.

    My concerns are:

    1. I just filed for my Social security personally here in our local office and i have been told it will be send to me thru mail in 4 wks if everything is ok, so will that mean i cannot apply for work till i get my SSN?

    2. do i need to apply for EAD?and how can i do that? do they have a fee for that?will that take also 4 wks?

    3. where can i get my Green card? will that be mailed to me or should i file for it personally? and if i need to file for that where and how should i start....what will be the fee for that?

I know this is a lot of question but i hope for your help. Thank you.

  8. During your interview or somewhere on the forms you filled up, there was a form for you to sign to give them authority to get a SSN for you.. If you did that, you just need to wait till it comes in the mail, but if you didn't, you can go to your local social security administration to get it.

For your green card, you don't have to do anything, they will mail that to you as soon as its done.. :)

By the way, none of these cards needs to be paid :)

    Congratulations! And welcome to USA:)

ohh..so i don't need to request for the Green card it will just come?...i actually forgot if i filled up something i might have but im not sure...

  9. Hi everyone,

I just arrived here in the US last December 11,2011. and i need some advised on what to do first. I am on an immigrant visa, and im trying to get SSN and my green card.what shall i do first? process the SSN then the Greencard or is it the other way around?

How long will it take to get the cards, and will it be expensive? and also i cannot get a job if i don't have those yet?

    thank you.

  10. Hi everyone...

I am already in a panic mode :-( I wonder if somebody can give me an idea...

I just notice that the name of my Father was incorrectly spelled...instead of VICTORIANO it was spelled as VICTORIIANO the letter I was doubled. My father is deceased already and he is not the petitioner my mom is...I think it is a typographical error i want to believe.

Second my case number stated in the immigration data summary it is MNL********84

and when i check my passport my IV num is MNL********8401...

  11. Hi everyone,

I am now confused bcoz I am getting a lot of information that i dont know already what will i follow...I am IR2 approved still in the Phils, traveling on december 10 since visa will expire on December 30,2011.I have a 7 yr old daughter, what should be the process so that i can get her?or can she travel with me?

Do I need to asked something from the embassy to travel with my daughter or I have to wait when I have arrived US already.and process everything there?

  12. Hi everyone,

I have been trying to figure things out.I am not able to rest right after that interview i become so restless thinking about the result. I had my interview last July 08, 2011 at Manila US embassy. I was not told if my visa application was approve or denied. i was told to request a birth cert for my child bcoz the one i have provided the consul doesn't have a 2nd page, she referred me to the nearest NSO / issuing branch office of the birth cert and they will be the one to pick it up the next friday which is july 15,2011. The consul did not say the reason for asking the second page. i was thinking she was looking for the birth cert of my daughter that has a signature of his father. My daughter is 7yrs old, she is an illigitimate child so her father's name is not stated in the birth cert, he also don't have a signature on it for acknowledgement.

I am 27 yrs old now for IR2 ...my petitioner is my mother who is already a US citizen, which was processed before i got 21 yrs old, right after the application was filed i gave birth to my child.

My passport was not given back to me with all other documents, what does this mean?...and i was told to wait for further information, information teeelling me what to do next? or information is approve or denied?...what does this mean? is my visa application approve or denied? does the birth cert of my child affect my application?what is the worst case scenario i should expect with t his one??

  13. 2004 or 2005 i just gave birth to my child and that was the time my petition was process, i just dont know the exact detail to why my petition was delayed when my daughter was included in the application of visa...i was thinking now, my visa will be denied bcoz of my daughter's lack of proof of documents again same as what happen before.if i may look both sides, what if they were not able to find the exact information that they were looking for in the birth cert of my daughter will that mean my application will be denied?

also, since the name of the father of my daughter is not stated or reflected in her birth cert will that be a problem? do i need other documents aside from the birth cert that i requested to prove that she is illigetimate child? and do you have any idea what is the usual time frame for me to know the result if my visa is approve or denied??

    thank you for helping out.

  14. i am from the Philippines.and yes she is an illigetimate child, and the father was not recognized in the BC he did not signed anything on the BC.yes you are correct they were looking for the second page..basically there is a second page but when i checked the issuing office since there is no information in the second page or the page is blank it was not included...they advised me to request BC in the preferred branch of the issuing office and the embassy representative will be the one to pick it up, and they will have a review on the status of my visa...

At first my step dad was the one who petition me but i was not able to process it...now my mother was the one who petition me.before i reached 21 yrs old she is already a US citizen.

They did not give back my passport and documents..what does it mean? The issuing office which is NSO informed that the embassy will be picking it up this coming friday and after that my visa will be subject for review...does it mean my visa was denied...for long will this process take for me to be able to know the exact results

    thank you for helping
