Grats! What's your date?
so excited, I forgot too mention it...it's January 13!!
-
got an interview date!!! thanks for all your help Saylin and everyone else!!
-
You'll be getting an interview letter in the email (if you gave your email addresses). This is the letter needed for the medical and interview. The case complete email is not used for anything.
Gotcha, thanks for the clarification Saylin!!
-
If you haven't gotten it, you won't be getting it. Again, do not worry about this. As long as you got confirmation from an operator that your case is complete, then you're fine. The case complete email isn't needed. It's just a nice email telling you your case is complete, but if you already got confirmation then you're fine.
I guess my concern is getting some sort of letter or email for my wife to get the medical exam needed for the interview...Thanks, Long.
-
Nope, no need to worry at all. Mostly, it's only EP people who get the case complete email. But over the last few weeks, I've seen a few non-EP people get the case complete email. NVC definitely hasn't rolled it out to everyone yet.
Wait, but will be defintely get it when it gets sent to the Consulate right?? Thanks, Long.
-
I never recieved a case complete email even though when I call the NVC automated message, it says it's complete...should I be worried?? Thanks, Long.
-
And yes, you'll get the interview letter by email if you gave the email addresses to an operator at the beginning of your NVC journey. But it'd be better if you called a NVC operator every single day. The emails are usually received a few hours after the interview has been scheduled. For example, in my case, I called on a Friday afternoon and discovered my interview date. But I only got the email around 6am Saturday morning.
Is that email letter acceptable to go get the medical exam?? Or do you have to get the real hard copy in the mail?? Not sure if this is country specific or not...
Thanks, Long.

Case Forwarded to Embassy:
"...The NVC has completed the case and forwarded it to the Embassy or Consulate in..."
When you get this message, does it mean that an interview is scheduled yet??
Thanks, Long.

Grats on the case complete! You should start calling immediately for an interview date. That's what I did! Got a case complete one day, started calling about the interview the next day. You can also start calling DOS now and asking the same question as NVC. Good luck!
Awesome, so is calling DOS the only way I can find out if the consulate recieves the case?? Or is there another way to check?? Thanks, Long.
-
Case Completed!! to clarify, do I call NVC for interview date?? and how long before I can start calling?? Thanks, Long
-
actually, now that I think about it, it wasn't to submit some papers, it was to just sign a paper after the interview was approved, lol
-
they scheduled the a few days after i got there since all the paperwork was in before i arrived...but then you have to come sign papers after the interview which they set a date a month later, when I was suppose to be there for 3 weeks!!
-
I know you have to submit some forms when your there and they will schedule for an interview...becareful, they will try to hassle you...when I went to turn in some paperwork, they told me to go back and put on some pants (I had shorts on) to turn in the papers, lol

My wife have 4 words in her full name. A = first, B C = middle, and D = last.
NOA 2 name is correct, but NVC first name is B not A
And, now her Driver Licence name is A, but SS# is B.
We decided not to do anything, till she becoming an USC.
If you decide to correct her name. Make sure you combine both her middle name with a -. Thi-Hoai
Good luck.
Thanks for the input...I have the same problem but was told by a friend not to worrk about it since the paperwork from USCIS is fine...
-
very nice, I continue to give me hope, since we have similar paths...thanks for the update!!
-
There's no way to go back and listen to old AVR messages. Most people here write down the dates as soon as they happen.
so they call everyday to see if there is an update?? hehe, I'm afraid if I missed one, lol
-
is talking to an agent the only way to figure out all the dates to update my timeline?? everytime I call the automated service, I just hear the most recent info, I would like to get an overall like each date they recieved something to make sure my timeline is up to date...thanks, Long.
-
just finished filling out the affidavit of support and ds-230, hopefully I can sit and wait for an interview date with you guys by the end of the month...
-
gotcha...thanks for all your help!!
-
-
Packet 3 is for Fiance visa, you dont need to send anything to the consulate, NVC will forward all your documents to the consulate.
ohhh, I guess I missed that, so as soon as we are done with NVC we should be expecting an interview date then??
I thought I kept reading others having to send in Packet 3 to the consulate or whatever, and then they can get Packet 4
Thanks, Long.
-
so when does packet 3 get sent out?? I thought it got sent after NVC sends to consulate...but then why does packet 3 discuss filling out DS-230??
-
do you have to submit it again to the consulate then??
-
After all this researching and such, I'm still confused on the process. Can someone please clarify this for me...
Does the DS-230 go to the Consulate or the NVC?? It is listed in the Packet 3 from the Consulate, but also listed on the NVC flow chart...
Thanks, Long.
