Had my Oath Taking ceremony last 12-14-12 at Montebello, CA

Like everyone else here, it was a nice experience, solemn ceremony. The wait and the registration was a pain since the call time is 8:05 AM,we were out in the cold. But once we get inside, everything is history. I was moved by the judge and the speakers. One said we came there representing almost 82 countries (with 925 oath takers) and we will leave the room as one, as citizens of the United States of America.

Glad I'm over with this journey. Next is to petition my parents

I agree. NEVER ever say you are going there because you are going to have a baby. Thats usually denied, under the presumption that your mother is going there to take care of her grandchild. Not only you are taking away an opportunity for an american to work (as a nanny), but you are giving her a reason to stay and not come back. I've know a lot of daughthers-mothers who have the same scenario. In most cases, their visa didnt get approved.

it would be best to use Tourism as a reason to go. I've had my parents and my aunt's visa approved using that reason (which is true). I wanted to take my parents to Disney for their 34th wedding anniversary and my aunt for her 65th bday as my gift to them. Both got approved.

I helped them prepare all the documents that they need to bring to the embassy. I included cover letters, my sponsor %& invitation letter (that i am inviting them, i will pay for them and i will make sure they will go back home), my employment certification indicating my salary and a tentative itinerary showing the places where we are going to visit within the 2 months they plan on coming here. My aunt brought any evidence that shows her relationship to me (hers, my moms and my birth certificates plus pictures of us together).

Goodluck and tell your mom to be honest. You want to visit and spend your money in US. THey like that.

Congrats thank you on-que I didn't summit neither bank account, tax return, only marriage certificate, birth certificate of both and the money... I will bring all the paper work in case they ask me.

I submitted everything but on the bank statements I only submitted until the month I applied the N-400 which is June so she's asking for July to Nov. I know I printed them and I have it in my binder in the interview but for some reason I can't find it during that moment, hahaha. Nervousness I guess. LoL

So for all of you out there on queue for interview, good luck and don't forget to come prepared.

Btw, for those applying by marriage, don't forget to print your latest/recent bank accounts/joint accounts. I only have the copies of what I submitted with the application but the IO requested for the most recent. I said I wasn't able to print them, anyway these are online billings. I thought she she will give me RFE papers/ good thing she said "It's okay if you don't have it".

Had my interview this morning at Chatsworth office in the Valley. This facility is very clean, well organized and pretty new.My appointment is scheduled at 10:15 AM

09:40 - Arrived in the parking

09:50 - Checked-in

10:10 - Name was called

10:29 - Left the IO interview room

At first I thought I'll have problem with the IO, no offense with the IO but she is not good in speaking and I had problem with understanding her accent/pronunciation. There are questions that I have to ask her to repeat the question up to 3x just to understand what she is asking me because I don't wanna answer something that I DO NOT understand, remember I am under oath. We had no problem with the civic test since I can clearly read the questions while she is reading it so I don't pay attention much to her on this part/ i paid attention on the printout so I can answer them correctly. I don't want her to be frustrated the whole time so I did it for her, hehehe.

After that, we went over to N-400 form itself and she read the questionnaires to me. After all of these, se told me that she will endorsed me for approval and I should be receiving my OATH LETTER in 60 days time.

My journey is almost over with USCIS for now, until then...

My interview is scheduled this Friday, 11/09/12 and I received text/email today re: update on my status.

When I checked on-line it says

On November 7, 2012, we scheduled you for your oath ceremony and sent a notice providing the date, time, and location. If you move prior to the scheduled ceremony, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

LoL. Weird isn't it? I hope this is a good sign

I passed my interview today as well...I mean I got recommended for approval.

Was scheduled for 10 am, got there 9:40....but I got called only at 10:50...was in the office for less than 10 minutes.

Questions (not in this order...can't remember it right):

Who wrote the Declaration of Independence

Name 3 of the first 13 colonies

What month do we elect the president

Who is the commander in chief

What are the two major political parties

What is the political party of the current president

I was asked to read :

Who elects the Congress

I got to write:

The people elect Congress.

Went over my paperwork, verified all info is correct, got to sign a paper and that was it.

I received an email/SMS last August 31, 2012 that I'm in line for interview and should receive the interview letter. Today is 09/20/2012 and no physical interview letter yet. I noticed on the timelines of most members here that they get the letter in a week after a notice. Should I be bothered? Anyone with similar case? LoL. Just can't wait to get this over with.

Since this is removal of condition; I would include a copy of marriage certificate again (but not mandatory) but you know, it's still proof of relationship.

How do you get access to somebody at this number? I am going round in circles wiht the automated voice...

I had the same problem when I called them.

Here's the quick way to speak to the customer rep/agent

Dial the 1(800) 375-5283

Press 1 (For English)

Press 1 (Immigration services)

Press 1 (To check the status of application)

Press 2 (Select "you do not know your receipt number")

Press 2 (Select "you cannot locate this number)

You have to select you cannot locate your receipt number so that the automated voice will transfer you to an agent.

Just follow this numbers to press so it will direct you to the agent right away.

We're CSC and we've now hit the 6-month mark from NOA1 date. What's the number to call or is it the (800) 375-5283 number listed on the receipt notice under the Laguna Niguel address?

Yes that's the number to call. You have to speak with the service agent.

The reason why I called is to follow up the status and make sure that the ball is on their end cause I never heard anything from them since Biometrics so I just wanna make sure that they did not send me anything, RFE, etc and I wasn't able to respond on it. It turned out that I just need to make a call to update my status on their end. Yay!
