Thanks for being so helpful along the way. We are starting to preparing for P3 and P4 stuff, hopefully it'll cut down not only anxiety but also the wait. My GUZ group is 2011734XXXXX, so i guess i'm the "73's".

I always blame myself now, "if I would've just knew..." then I would do it quickier at the beginning to avoid all these traffics...but i guess now the only thing i can do is WAIT... just like Cinderella, but i guess Cinderella had better luck than I did, at least she knew when she's going to go to the ballroom...

Don't blame yourself. Nobody can foresee the future. Looking back can only prevent you from focusing on the future. Just be patient and find some other things to occupy your mind for the meantime. You should still call them every few days to check on the status though. Good luck!

Just curious. What is your GUZ group? Your GUZ should start with 2011 then follow by the group number. For example, GUZ2011##..... Mine is 72.

My fiance go this reply from the Guangzhou Consulate:

"Thank you for the inquiry.

The National Visa Center has informed us that the case was shipped to the Consulate on October 7, 2011. We have not yet received the case file. Shipments of case files mailed from the NVC may take several months to arrive in China and clear Chinese customs. We will mail your beneficiary an instruction packet (Packet 3) after the physical file is received."

But I thought they sent it out 8/25, or at least that's what I was told for 3 weeks. And when I question the DOS today about the date, they said, on 8/25, they sent the file to the mailing room to be mail, on Oct 7th, that's when the file was physically "sent". If that's the case, I wouldn't expect my case to clear customer in just 1.5 weeks since it takes "several months" to arrive in China. I feel hopeless...

I'm really sorry about this news. There were complaints about NVC delay handling of cases from CSC in the past months (according to other members in the forum). Apparently many cases were approved quickly in CSC then got stuck in NVC. Looks like you were one of those cases. Hey, don't lose heart. At least they confirmed that your case is on the way to the consulate. If you haven't started already, you should take this time to prepare the documents required for P3 and P4 with your fiance, such as all the notary stuffs. It will help cut down the anxiety of waiting.

I called today again, and they said the guy who told me the file went to the embassy mean the e-file went to the embassy, so the packet 3 is still in transit :crying: why does it take so long to clear custom?! for 7 weeks i could've swim across the pacific ocean to Guangzhou already!

Just be patient. There's really nothing you can do. Your case file is most likely in the consulate already but waiting to be processed. Don't forget there was also a week long holiday in early Oct. Until the case file is opened and put into the computer they will always tell you it's in transit. Should be any day now.

Thanks. I think that means the consulate has received your case file but hasn't process it yet. Once they do, they will send the P3 package out. Just keep calling. Good luck!

Just curious, did you recieve the actual P3 yet? I wonder how long it takes for them to send the actual P3 to the beneficiary....

My fiance received the actual P3 package yesterday. About 2 weeks from the sent date (9/30).

Thank you so much for posting your timeline, my NVC had sent my file to the consulate on 8/25 and I was expecting my fiance to receive the pkg in 1 month, but base on how your case turn out, this means we should get it around 8 days from today. Popodita, you should call DOS everyday now to get the latest status. Everyone's progress is different so it may be 8 days or may be less or more. Call DOS to be sure. Meanwhile you can tell your finance to prepare the forms in P3 package so that you can send them out as soon as your P3 is marked as sent. See above reply for details.

Basically call 1-202-663-1225, press 1 and then 0 to get a live person. That person will be able to tell you your case status. You need to have the GUZ2011xxxxxx number and your fiance's information at hand because they will ask for it.

Our file was send out according to NVC on 8/12/11 - Called Guangzhou consulate 2 weeks ago and said they have not received it. Checked with NVC again this week and they said have been sent. its been almost 2 months now. Waiting is painful

Oh, you should be calling DOS for the case status. NVC won't tell you anything after it was sent.

Just an update. Called today Oct 5th and was told that P3 was sent out on Sep 30th. I wasn't thinking they will process it before the long National Day holidays (Oct 1st - Oct 5th). Yay....

I didn't use the DHL tracking. From what I read, that really just a guess on which package contains my case. I rather keep emailing GUZ or call DOS for my case status.

Yeah, let's hope that they receive our cases before end of this month.

I think I'm in the same boat. My case was sent from NVC to GUZ on Aug 19th and we are still waiting for GUZ to receive it. We are getting a little impatient but really there's nothing we can do. Oh well
