I wish you luck!
Thanks! You too!
At this stage, based on what I have read I might take my chances without the passport photos and envelope (unless any new information comes to light before tomorrow!).
If it turns out I need them, I can grab all of them within an hour anyway. I work in the CBD so I will be in there for the day anyway.

The envelope though, there was a new process for the Aussie people that I read about. Where you need to register on a website or something. Is there nothing about that anywhere? I'm trying to find that link.
Very strange - and no there's not (officially).
Regarding the online profile, reading that website (again, not referenced in P4 or on the consulate website), it states:
http://ustraveldocs....tcollection.asp
The cost for Australia Post to deliver or hold your passport is included in the visa application fee.So, perhaps the P4 is accurate at this point in time and I do not need to bring an Aus Post envelope, or more passport photos.
Though, it doesn't say I should create an online profile!

Please be aware that the visa part of a process is often country specific.
Indeed. I cannot find any information about this on the Sydney Consulate website (the Visa information is on the Canberra website).
Nothing in my P4..

Thanks for the reply. Where does it state this?
I ask because, I hate to start a thread without doing my homework and it makes me wonder how many people turn up, only bringing items which they were directed to bring.

Hi All,
I have my interview tomorrow. Reading other reviews, people have mentioned they needed an Aus Post envelope yet it's not mentioned anywhere in my interview letter, nor is it mentioned on the consulate website.
Also, in my interview letter, it states:
The applicant must bring the correct size and number of photographs to the visa interview. They must measure 2 inches by 2 inches (5 cm by 5 cm) on a white background.Yet again, no where do they clarify exactly what they are after. I have a feeling the photos overlap with what was already provided to the NVC thus the consulate will already have them.
Anyway, just hoping someone can shed some light on this!
Cheers,
Adam

Had my medical this morning. Interview in 2 weeks. This whole thing is coming to an end.. should be exciting but the Cardinals are losing

am just curious about these metals in your body. Is it bullets?
No, I had a motorbike accident in 2008. What is left in there right now is a screw in my knee, rod/screws in my femur, plate/screws in my elbow.
Pictures:
I know in Australia, we have state healthcare so there were some restrictions for my wife when she came here.
I think my issues shouldn't be a problem though, wouldn't they only be looking for people who are 'sick' rather than 'disabled'?

I have my medical on Tuesday. I have my passport, photos, immunisation records etc..
Does anyone know what the purpose of the X-Rays is? I have a lot of metal in my body so I am not sure if they care about that.
-
Did they email you or did you call them to find out?
Email. I called them yesterday though and they didn't have an interview date yet so I suppose they send it out right away

Break a leg! And if that doesn't help, break someone else's leg.
I already did, in 2008 and 2010
So I might be a bit more cautious walking into the consulate haha.

Some Korean buffet and a movie coincidentally planned for tonight

UPS Freight. Sounds crazy, but I am getting quoted around $170AUD per moving box to the US.
You can use Interparcel.com.au for easy quotation rather than going via the UPS Freight website.

The Sydney consulate.. *yawn*.
Case completed on the 3rd October. Waiting waiting waiting.
-
I called up.. explained I got an email but I wasn't sure what it was about..
No interview date yet apparently.
-
I got the case complete email today, and got an interview email a few hours later. So maybe??? Keeping fingers crossed for you!
Hope so
Thanks!

Just got an NVC email and thought, it the interview info - it was just the case complete email (that's a pretty good gap between actual case complete and notification).
Yep, I got one too.. and didn't contact them via email at any stage..
I saw an email from the NVC and my mind was going INTERVIEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW DATEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE..
..but no.

Have some free time at work right now. I was going to call up the NVC to see if I had an interview date yet and..
..the number is busy
-
Nope. They send by DHL, and have it marked as diplomatic papers. It'll get to its destination
Woohoo. So they won't ask to see it during the interview, given they've already asked me to provide it?
-
Yup!
Case complete > interview scheduled by NVC > case sent out to embassy/consulate
Oops, must have read it wrong
Sooo.. has anyone ever had their PC go missing on the way to the consulate? I have copies of everything but I seem to be missing a copy of that (plus, it was on some special paper that wasn't A4).
-
You can only use tracking AFTER a case has an interview date scheduled. That is NOT your case.
So the NVC schedule an interview date with the consulate, then send the documents?
-
Can I translate my own documents? I am finding conflicting information on that.
Did you mean track?

Looks like the Sydney Consolate should have my documents on Monday. http://goo.gl/uyNpZ

It was such a long time ago that I honestly don't remember the specific reasoning - but they did not accept our foreign assets (which were in fact substantial). They had to be stateside assets to be accepted. My father-in-law ended up having to sponsor me for ten years (ie. in case of job loss/hardship, he is financially responsible for me and I am not eligible for welfare etc). I remind him of this every time he trash talks my golf game.
