  1. Yes, thank you! :) I'm such a noob. I looked at that before and thought those were declined below. I should have looked closer! Anyways, that makes me feel a smidge better. I'm hoping next week is the week. I'm just so ready for him to get here, ahhhh, haha. This long waiting is making me feel so crazy, like I'm bipolar or something. One minute I want to laugh, the next I want to cry....

I'm right there with you! Every time my phone goes off I assume it's the USCIS finally telling me we're approved - and good luck to anyone around me when it's not! This HAS to be the week. I'm not sure I can handle another approval from a date after mine....it sounds selfish but feel like I;m being skipped over in line. I am a crazy lady right now...but hopefully soon we'll all be bitching about the interviews! :)

  2. Same as everyone else. I got my NOA1 on feb 6th... I am getting so down about the waiting and there's nothing I can do. In the back of my mind I start to worry if it will ever happen for us. Maybe they lost our paperwork? Why is it taking so long... What if something went wrong? My fiancé never wants to talk about it saying I need to be patient and it will happen when it happens, but I 'need' to talk about it because i feel super alone right now :( It feels like everyone from feb 6th or before has been approved and I can't figure out how to check it on VJ. I can only seem to see all the approvals but no percentages approved or unapproved. How do you even see that info?

HI Nick and Elizabeth - try this link to Igor's list. At the top you will see the last 15 approvals, and then as you scroll down it will show you who is still waiting month by month. There are still a lit of late January / early February people waiting so you are definitely not alone! Good luck this week! FIngers crossed for all of us - my frustration is at an all time high right now - just want to start my new life with him.

Please go to the link above to see what should have been included in your application. If you only sent the i-129f form and the fee and none of the other documentation, that seems to me like you got denied for not enough info. I am not sure if that means you can reapply with all the info, and I guess you will have to wait for the letter to get the official reason.

I am sorry. :( I hope it's nothing more serious that that.

  4. hahaha lucky you :) i have nothing for me :(

nothing does it anymore, i feel like some kind of a maniac thinking about this all the time =/

Right there with you. Poor Sid said "It will happen soon" and I went off on him. If I NEVER hear the word "soon" again, it still won't be enough. My optimism is shot at this point...we are now just picking a move date and we'll send him back for the interview if need be. This waiting is horrible. ANd now I have to hire an after school babysitter for the kids as he won't be here in time to do it. I should make USCIS pay for it. :P

  5. I Think its pretty clear now, today i need to make alot of phone calls to reschedule our september wedding :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:

Oh no! I am so sorry to hear that...September is a lovely time for a wedding We were planning a Thanksgiving Day wedding, but with having to try and get an interview in London with all the Olympic #######, we're thinking even that is a bit too close. I hope you manage to rearrange everything so you both can still have the wedding of your dreams! This is just brutal and I swear if we survive this, we can survive anything. We just want to be able to make a few plans for our lives - he needs to give notice at work and the like and I don't USCIS should keep interfering with that! :ranting:

Now I will go read the poor January filers thread to remind myself not to whine too much asthere are still peeps waiting a lot longer than I.

Our NOA2 dates are only a day apart so we are in the same boat!!

  6. Seriously ya'll I was lurking and lamenting how VSC can't seem to get past 1/18, when I got this in my email:

    http://www.marcandangel.com/2012/07/06/10-things-to-tell-yourself-today/

10 Things to Tell Yourself Today. Marc and Angel post these lists a few times a week.

I believe #1 is what we all need to read right now. It sure made my day better, star_smile.gif

Thanks for sharing that Mary - for whatever reason I am struggling more this week than any other, and that just reminded me why we are doing all this. :)

  7. My fiance is trying to take a stab at the D-230 and we have 2 questions - I took a gander at this thread and didn't see either question answered yet.

    1) On the every residence since he was 16 list - he has had consistent places to live the last 5-10 years or so, but the 10 before that he was more of a 'free spirit' and moved from couch to couch. How critical is London about the entire listing? (I suggested he just list the long term places and pass the others off as being under the 6 month mark, but he's very nervous about filling it in correctly and so has asked me to check in with my visa journey experts).

    2) Military history - he was in the army for a year, and we have hunted but cannot figure out where to get his supporting documentation for the visa application. Is there a place to get military records from? And we are going back over 20 years, so before everything was electronic.

    Any response is much appreciated!

    Thanks so much!

  8. A few more approvals today for VT - so that's a few less in front of us. Trying to renew my optimism - I go camping in Maine next week, so if I haven't heard anything by then, I'll swing by VT and shake them down for some answers.

And Sid took a look at the next batch of forms he'll have to complete and I can see THAT'S gonna be a good time - ay-yi-yi! I guess you can't save them like you could the i-129f and i-134. It'll be a fun little project for us I guess. Or my desperate attempt to look at the next step so I feel like we are doing something instead of waiting. Lucky for me the English are world champion queuers, so his patience is much better than mine.

Off to another day of waiting, watching and hoping! Good luck everyone!!

  9. I have officially entered the stage where I cannot sleep at all, my stomach is in a knot , and i cry randomly throughout the day. I have never waiting so patiently for something to the point that I lost it, know I am a wreck =(

a RFE or Denial now would kill me .................................................

    =( I hate mondays

Right there with you - this is horrible. Though I wouldn't mind an RFE right now I think so at least I'd know someone looked at the petition. We're getting kind of cranky at each other, just in frustration of not being to plan anything - when is he quitting work, will he be here before I need to hire a babysitter to watch the kids - just simple things, really, but tired of feeling like our lives are being held hostage by the USCIS. We just need to hang in a bit longer - I has to happen at some point!!

  10. I think I would leave off state because England doesn't have states or see if Kent will fit into the city box like "Smalltown, Kent". Kinda weird they would make a form for worldwide use with a character limited field that suits US addresses but not necessarily international ones.

I've never heard this problem before so looked at my own saved I-134. I did put Oxford in the state field and it appears to have room for 3 more characters. But when I started adding characters the field kept expanding. I had a later version of the I-134 saved so tried it. It would accept 9 characters.

Thank you! Putting it in the city field worked - this version will not expand the state field at all. I appreciate the response!

  11. Hello - starting to fill out the i-134 and I have what amounts to a silly question...

I am trying to enter Sid's UK address, and it only allows me 2 letter under state - is there an abbreviation for Kent that is acceptable? All the important info, and this is what I'm stressing over. :P

And as I was reading through to see if this had already been posted, I must say THANK YOU to all that have taken the time to respond in such detail. It's a relief to have this information so readily accessible from other who have gone through the process. Your time is most appreciated!

    Kim

  12. I just found out we got the new apartment. I am now a Brooklyn girl as of 8/1. I'd buy you all a drink if this were a bar!

    Life is beautiful! rose.gif

Congrats Mary! That's awesome! It will be so much fun decorating and getting everything ready - and what a great distraction to boot.

And I don't think is ever meant towards anyone when someone vents - we are all waiting, all struggling, and sometimes we have good days and sometimes we have bad. No one in 'real life' even remotely understands how brutal this process has been, how hard the separation is, so I feel like this is the only place to go. We whine, we moan, we woe-is-me...and in the end we all want the same thing. And it's hard watching visas approved out of turn and it's even MORE difficult to be here with no control over anything.

And in spiteful retribution I am declaring that Vermont is crossed off my vacation plan list. Take your Green Mountains and put 'em where the sun don't shine. I'm content enough with the Blue Hills. :P

  13. I LOVE these first date stories - so glad people are playing! :-)

Meg - I would have been so stressed out - you must have been freaking!

Miss K - I concur on October Sky - it wasn't a great flick but as long as you enjoyed the company.

Mary - that's awesome he happened to be in NY - and the documentary is a great story!

Joy - that's great you managed to spend so much time together - and what better way to get to know him than by just hanging out!

Cori - I felt the same way when I booked the flight to Canada - I have never taken such a risk before and I am so glad I did!

Laura - nothing like a night of stolen property to remember your first date LOL!

Ceylo - how exciting to realize you're in love with your roommate! And convenient that they're right next door. :-)

New start to a new week so my optimism is springing back up again! There are sure to be a lot more Feb approvals this week so it's gonna be a good week! Fingerse and toes crossed for everyone!!!

  14. Woohoo to more approvals! Slow but steady...

OKay - let's take a break from all of this waiting and whining and boohooing -

    First date?

We met in Canada - I picked him up at the airport (swoon) and he offered to buy me dinner on the way to the hotel. So sweet. Of course after his 10 hour flight he was starving so we had our first meal together at McDonald's. It was lovely. Ignoring the fact that the curb jumped out and hit the front end of the car as I parked, we oohed and ahhed over each other, he tried to contain his shock at the portion sizes, I tried to make sure I didn't have anything stuck in my teeth. The date was capped off when we realized there was a ginormous puddle of puke on the floor about 2 tables over. We could not have planned a better ending. Hard to believe that was 2 years ago.

    Anyone else want to play?

  15. Is anyone prepping their documents for the next round of paperwork while we wait (not so patiently)?

Tom requested his IRS transcripts (for the third time) today, since they still hadn't come through yet... (Is it just the free transcripts, or does he have to get the 1040 form too? I'm clueless as to the different types of tax forms that the US uses)

I thought about maybe going for my police clearance, but I don't want to get it done too early...

I'm pretty sure I'm up-to-date on all my immunizations (I had my doc check last time I saw her, earlier this year)

Anyone else thinking of this stuff yet?

(Or, making more fun plans... for the upcoming nuptials?) :)

Have my IRS transcript and letter from employer ready to go. Just need to fill out i-134, redo letter of intent, get the NOA2 and send it on its way! He's got his medical records, birth certificate and just waiting on his police certificate - the UK one is good for a year so we should be covered.

Wedding plans? Nada... We've picked out rings and know we want something really small and simple - no white dress and tux. If we had it our way, we'd just hit Vegas but my kiddos might object... Hopefully something at my sis's house the week of Thanksgiving. My first wedding, I spent 15 months planning every detail of that one day - this time I'm putting all my focus on what comes after the ceremony instead. That's more important in the long run (easy to say as I've already donned the big white dress and danced to a cheesy DJ :P )

How are your plans coming along?
