Take heart regarding the delay; are you are presently in Nigeria ? If you are, then you need to go to Nigerian Police Force; Alagbon Close Victoria Island Lagos. You need copy of your passport and proof of address such as PHCN (NEPA bills) if you have any. If you are not in Nigeria, you need to send a relative there to get it on your behalf.
That was how I got mine.( Be prepared to pay about N5K -N7K if you want to get it quick.)
Wish you the best.

- IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1:_______________________
Please submit a completed copy of form Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration -
Biographic Data (DS-230/DS-260) for this applicant. In reviewing the form that you submitted, we note
that the section pertaining to applicant residences from the age of 16 is either blank or incomplete. The
applicant must list all places lived for at least six months since reaching the age of 16. There must not be
any gaps greater than six months. You will need to complete and submit a new form with the changes.
Your visa application cannot be processed until this form is complete.
A gap exists in your residence history of more than six months. When completing the information in
this section, please refer to the following instructions below on Police Certificate(s):
Police certificates are required for each visa applicant aged 16 years or older, based on where each
applicant lives or has lived previously.
Police certificates are also required from all other countries where the applicant has resided more
than 12 months. Present and former residents of the United States should NOT obtain any police
certificates covering their residence in the U.S.
Generally, applications for police certificates should be made directly to the police authorities in the
district in which you resided. The police certificate must:
1. Cover the entire period of the applicant's residence in that area, and
2. State what the appropriate police authorities records show concerning each applicant, including
all arrests, the reason for the arrest(s), and the disposition of each case of which there is a record.
If you have any questions about where or how to apply for police certificates in other countries, you
may communicate directly with the U.S. consular office processing your visa applications.
NOTE: Police certificates from certain countries are unavailable. Detailed information is available
from the NVC or the nearest United States immigrant visa processing post
Plz someone help me out with these. am so confused now!!!!!!!!

Hi, as most people have said, you need to take a trip down to your local government office and it might be issued same day if you decide to pay for premium service. Goodluck.

Hi,
First and foremost, do you know if your friend has got IND (Indefinite Leave to Remain in UK) or British Passport ? To give the best advice, I need to know the background of the situation in order to give a conclusive advice. I have live in UK for years and I know how things work in London consulate.
I will be glad if you could give more information in order to be of assistance to you.
Regards.

Here's the rundown:
A friend of mine is from the UK. We met over the internet about six months ago, and we hit it off really well. After some discussion, we finally decided it would be in best interest to take our relationship to the next level. We arranged for her to come to the US for a few months so we could finally meet and she could travel around while I finish my studies. We would take a trip around the US for a few weeks during the Winter holiday and return to my place of residence to unwind and get to know each other a bit more until she left.
She applied for a B-2 Visa because we were ignorant of the VWP and what it was and exactly how it worked. We thought that in order to come over, the B-2 was the only way to do it. We were brought down to reality yesterday when her interviewing officer was a complete ####### and told her that she could not support herself and 'would never be allowed in the US so don't bother trying again'. He refused to look at any of her letters from her employer, her family, her voluntary work, or any of her bank statements which proved that she had the funds to support her trip. He belittled her current occupation because it was not in accordance with her education degree and handed her a paper stating she had been denied under Section 214(b).
After phone calls with the Operator Assisted Visa Information line, the Operator asked if they asked for any of her paperwork when her fingerprints were taken. They had not. She was told to file a complaint and to instead apply for the ESTA.
I called the Customs and Border Protection, here on the States side and they said that any refused Visa automatically makes her ineligible for VWP and said she'll have to try to get a visa instead. This clashes with information that the people she has spoken to and the people that I have spoken to who said that a denied Visa does not mean she's ineligible. I've spoken to the Department of State and have read around the internet, including this forum.
I guess my question is:
Is she screwed because of the denied B-2 Visa? What are some of the steps that we must take to ensure our relationship can expand off of the internet. We don't want to be confined to this. She doesn't plan on living here, nor do I plan on staying in the States as soon as I'm finished with my Bachelor's Degree.
What can we do? Is there anything we can do?
I'd appreciate any input at all.
Thanks.

Stay positive. Actually, I waited for 7months and a few days before I got approved. We used TSC to do our filing. I believe all is well.
