  1. Thanks
JG&JB4L got a reaction from mogiftney in NO JOB!!! Please Help k1
I lost my job and went to school full-time for an advanced degree and during that time I received unemployment. Currently I am still unemployed as I await results from my state exam. I had a co-sponsor and we were approved for the visa. I have property that I own and rent out and attempted to use that income, I included this information to fill out an I-134 form and included my bank statements showing the funds being deposited each month. However, at the interview they ignored my information because they considered me to have no income and utilized my co-sponsor's information. Just remember to include proof that the co-sponsor is a U.S. Citizen and include a copy of their citizenship certificate or passport as proof of this. My sister (who is married and has two young children) was my co-sponsor and she provided me with copies of 2 years tax returns, 2 years W-2s, the signed and completed I-134 form, and a copy of her citizenship certificate.
Note that I was receiving unemployment up until June of last year so that was shown on the tax filings that I included with my I-134, this did not appear to be a problem so don't worry about that too much.
Keep working on gathering your documents and evidence an' jus enjoy di journey

So, with the interview looming tomorrow both myself and my fiance' felt confident today that everything was in order.
After having a friend who works at the embassy review the documents he was notified that there is a problem
The non-impediment was apparently unsigned and was not printed on the correct paper (security paper).
My fiance went to the Registrar General's office and they ended up escorting him out (lol)
Apparently they wanted to charge him another $5000+ to correct their error. Fortunately he calmed down and was
able to speak to a manager/supervisor who directed him to the Spanish Town location for a new copy of the document.
He is in Spanish Town right now trying to sort everything out.
Even though you would be able to do the interview without a problem (they would just request that you come back to
the Consulate with the correct document) I just wanted to share this so others can avoid the same pitfall.
PLEASE CHECK AND RE-CHECK ALL YOUR DOCUMENTS!
