Oh yes, my sister also provided me with an employment letter
I lost my job and went to school full-time for an advanced degree and during that time I received unemployment. Currently I am still unemployed as I await results from my state exam. I had a co-sponsor and we were approved for the visa. I have property that I own and rent out and attempted to use that income, I included this information to fill out an I-134 form and included my bank statements showing the funds being deposited each month. However, at the interview they ignored my information because they considered me to have no income and utilized my co-sponsor's information. Just remember to include proof that the co-sponsor is a U.S. Citizen and include a copy of their citizenship certificate or passport as proof of this. My sister (who is married and has two young children) was my co-sponsor and she provided me with copies of 2 years tax returns, 2 years W-2s, the signed and completed I-134 form, and a copy of her citizenship certificate.
Note that I was receiving unemployment up until June of last year so that was shown on the tax filings that I included with my I-134, this did not appear to be a problem so don't worry about that too much.
Keep working on gathering your documents and evidence an' jus enjoy di journey

So, with the interview looming tomorrow both myself and my fiance' felt confident today that everything was in order.
After having a friend who works at the embassy review the documents he was notified that there is a problem
The non-impediment was apparently unsigned and was not printed on the correct paper (security paper).
My fiance went to the Registrar General's office and they ended up escorting him out (lol)
Apparently they wanted to charge him another $5000+ to correct their error. Fortunately he calmed down and was
able to speak to a manager/supervisor who directed him to the Spanish Town location for a new copy of the document.
He is in Spanish Town right now trying to sort everything out.
Even though you would be able to do the interview without a problem (they would just request that you come back to
the Consulate with the correct document) I just wanted to share this so others can avoid the same pitfall.
PLEASE CHECK AND RE-CHECK ALL YOUR DOCUMENTS!

I can relate to other posters who were previously married. I was married before and also filed for my ex-husband. The divorce was still pending while I filled out all the I129 paperwork.
A soon as I got the divorce decree it was added to my documents and the I129 was submitted.
I do see where the interviewer may question a K-1 filing in such close proximity to a divorce especially when the prior marriage also involved a non-resident of the United States. Despite this I was determined to get my application in as soon as I possibly could.
Tomorrow is my fiance's interview and whether or not that will be an issue we shall see. However, when you are confident about your relationship, can espouse the TRUTH of the relationship, and have the proof to support it the confidence which that provides you can take you a far way.
Start preparing for the journey ahead of you; I wish you all the best.
-
Don't worry, I know the feeling. I used to check multiple times per day.
The funny thing was that the day I didn't obsess about checking was the day I received the approval
Just try to stay busy with planning for your future, career goals, or gathering evidence of your relationship.

Can the DS230 Part 1 be signed, scanned and emailed to the Consulate in Kingston Jamaica? Or does it need to be mailied to them with the origional (not scanned) signature. Thanks, Erica and Mark
Hi Erica and Mark,
You will need to submit the form with an original signature so you can either drop it off or mail it.

That's great News for all Vermont filers!
Hopefully the remainder of your journey will be just as fast

I751 need more evident i submit lease, joint account , joint tax return ,health insurance, energy bills
cis is asking for a bank statement showing prove of paiding our bills from our joint account but due to my husband care freeness of spending money i paid the bills from my personal account and not from our joint account because my husband always spending unesccessary how do i write a cover letter explaining our situation should i send my personal bank statement.
I really dont know what to do we cannot afford a lawyer,CIS also ask for two sworn affidavit from two people that know about our relationship i receive at least three lettter from friends ,also they ask for proper filed state tax return I already receive the transcript from the IRS however our joint account does not show everyday expenses i gather a few item such as photo ,Joint insurance ,copy of our credit card ,receipt of our bedroom funiture with both names also my daughter school record listing my husband as a contact guardian should i submit a second cover letter listing the previous item that was send incase the document was misplace because CIS notice say do not send copies of documents previously submitted should i just submit all these items without a cover letter because i really dont know what to say in the cover letter any ideas please .
Well if they are specifically asking for proof that bills are being paid from the joint account why not do that for this and next month's bills.
I am assuming that the joint account is a checking account so you should be able to prove this quite easily. If the joint account is a savings
account then I would suggest opening a joint checking account and try to comply with their request.
If all of the above suggestions fail or just are not options then just explain in your cover letter. Sometimes it is not that they are requesting
something but just that they are questioning the legitimacy of the relationship and require you to prove them wrong.
I have written affidavits for friends and family and that is not very difficult. All you need to do is to select persons who personally know both
you and your spouse and can attest to the nature of your relationship.
If they state not to re-submit documents previously sent do not re-send them. In your cover letter list the items which you have enclosed as
additional documents proving the union between you and your spouse.
Don't be too worried I know several persons who have been in this position before just try to get everything together and submit them as
requested. Everything's gonna be alright

I also think this is not extremely important information. If you know the city and state or province and country that the parents are located that should be more than sufficient.

Sus is right, that is the best thing you can do. I filled out all the forms for my fiance and used post-it notes to indicate where he should sign.
Though there is an internet cafe close to where he lives their computers had problems so I just sent them to him by express mail.
Yes, a little on the pricey side but the peace of mind is worth the price.
Just remember that the sooner he gets the DS230 form in the earlier you get an interview date

Congrats on your NOA2!! That was FAST!!
Call the NVC and get your KNG case number, and fill out and carry down the DS230 for your fiance' to sign and send to the embassy (Pt.1)
great reply
Does the PUK2 thing work for pay as you go digicel also??
Yes, my fiance has a pay a you go. I think the post paid accounts get invoices

PLEASE IGNORE PREVIOUS POST!
YAY for you!
Now comes the hard work
After the NOA2 your paperwork will be forwarded to the NVC for additional processing before being sent to the Consulate
Below are a few things that you could work on while you are in Jamaica, the fees/expenses add up so at least if you start early you can budget/pace yourself
The police report is actually good for one year so you can go ahead and get that. Although the medical is also good for a year as well you cannot do it until you receive your interview letter which must accompany you when going for the medical
(Police Report Cost> $2000 within 2 weeks $4000 within 1 week)
Your fiance/fiancee will also need to go to the Registrar General to acquire a non-impediment certificate if they have never been married. If previously married, they will need to get a copy of the marriage certificate and divorce decree
(Cost> Non-impediment $5,000, Marriage - $650, Divorce - Unknown)
Additionally, if you have misplaced immunization records or there are any immunizations which were not done you may want to either have it replaced or acquire the required shots.
On your end you can start compiling the items you will need for the I-134 Affidavit of Support (AOS) and proof of the relationship. Items you may need for the AOS include 2 years tax returns, W-2s, employment letter, bank statements, and other proof of assets. For proof of relationship call logs/history is good from what I've read here.
If your partner has digicel as their carrier you can email digicel's customer care with your name and PUK2 to get 3 months of call history (to be picked up at the the local office within 7 days).
Ahhhh, what else...I guess the normal pictures, proof of travel, and anything else which shows that there is a actual relationship is helpful. I hope this information is helpful.
Don't get too bogged down on your trip running around and mek sure yu enjou yuselfB-)
Wish I was going home too:blush:

Yea. I received my NOA2 on July 6 and they still don't have mine either. It seems like USCIS really picked up approving in June which created a bottleneck of approvals for NVC. Who knows when they will say they have it. U r not alone though.
I'm sorry to hear about your problems with NVC. I had my own problems with them as well...
This entire process is an exercise in patients so just hang in there and as the earlier respondent said keep at them via email and telephone calls

If you the petitioner were previously married the JA Consulate requires you to show that there is no impediment for you as well.
I was previously married and so I sent my fiance a copy of my marriage certificate and the divorce decree.
CORRECTION:
This information comes directly from the Registrar General's website:
A No-Impediment Certificate commonly referred to in North America as a “single status affidavit” is an official document indicating that an individual has never been married. In Jamaica No-Impediment Certificates are issued on security paper by the Registrar General’s Department. It is the document that can be used as evidence that an individual has never entered into a union of marriage in the island of Jamaica. If a marriage is located with records of the RGD; the applicant is advised via a no-impediment letter.

I just wanted to add that it may be in your best interest to make up for the short time of your relationship. To do this make sure that you can inundate them with tons of evidence to prove the relationship. Items you may consider are phone logs, emails, cards, letters, proof of trips (including items which may indicate an itinerary such as hotels stayed at, cars rented, etc), proof of wedding plans (even if tentative), pictures (of course), and any another items which will bolster your case. Hang in there, we're all in this together

The Certificate(s) of Non-Impediment to Marriage is Issued by the Registrar General’s Department on security paper. It is required to show that your fiance is not currently married or that if he/she was previously married they obtained a divorce and are therefore free to marry you.

NOTE you can not call KINGSTON, ONLY email them they will respond back within 5 working days.
email: Kingstonivinfo@state.gov
I actually contacted the Consulate in Kingston last Friday ad spoke to someone. I have been trying to reach them via email to no avail.
When you call the Consulate's office there is a prompt which states that agents are available on Monday and Friday between 1:30PM and 3:30PM
After several attempts an agent actually picked up the phone and told me they do not accept calls
Despite this, I explained my situation and she
looked up our case and was able to give me a status. Luckily I got in touch with her too because though my fiancee dropped off the DS230 they had
no record of it.
So we have been and would have continued waiting in vain for an interview date
Here's the number I called was 876 702-6000 (Select Option 1, Option 3 then listen for option to speak to a rep. [i believe Option 3 as well])

Greetings,
I have been a frequent visitor (but new member) to VJ and I am so thankful for a site like this during my personal journey. Everyone is so helpful and supportive...PRICELESS!
I wanted to share my experience with the NVC and see if anyone could relate. I receive my NOA2 on April 27th (this was a pleasant surprise considering that it was a bit ahead of schedule) However, since that time I remain oblivious as to where we stand now.
I was happy to hear that the NVC was open for hours on end to accommodate inquiries like mine but was disappointed when I learned that they had my finance's date of birth (D.O.B.) incorrect in their systems and therefore no information about the application could be relayed to me. Note, to be provided any information relating to your case you will need to have a receipt number, names of the petitioner and beneficiary and D.O.B. of both parties. I was in total disbelief and checked my copy of the I129-F to ensure that the D.O.B. was correct (I've been known to make errors). After confirming that the "screw up" was not on my end I contacted the NVC again just to ensure I wasn't hearing things or that the representative hadn't
made an error.
To my dismay I received the same information...NOTHING! I was informed the only way that I could be provided the information was if I provided a copy of the beneficiary's birth certificate or passport. My fiance is a bit more laid back than I (or maybe normal) so within a matter of days when he got the birth certificate to me it is no longer a valid form of verification for the D.O.B. The passport was not even a possibility because by some twist of fate his D.O.B. in the passport was also incorrect so the Consulate has been in possession of it correcting that error for some time now.
I then decided to contact USCIS to see if there was something they could do for me. The representative for USCIS informed me that I should try to make an appt. to speak to an immigration officer via INFOPASS. Waste of time! The immigration officer promptly dismissed me and stating, "it is out of our hands", and even providing false information about the length
of time that the K1-Visa is valid (referring to the 4 month timeline for the I129-F).
So...I am curious to find out if anyone can direct me to what possible steps I can take to track where things are with our application. I know it WILL happen but for the obsessive
kind like me...I just HAVE to know (and update my timeline too)...
DS230 #44 for a K1 Visa

I filled out the forms for my fiance' and put my name where it asked for the name and address of the person person who assisted with the application I put my information there.
If no one helped then check No. It's a tedious process but don't get too wound up on the minor details. You're doing just fine...Happy Journeying!
