How healthy do you need to be to pass the medical? What will cause a rejection? Is it better to get the medical in the Philippines or do it in the USA? In fact, is it better to do the whole thing in Philippines ? Or do part of it in USA?

What would you ballpark replacement cost of said items?
Replacement value is very difficult to calculate. Partly because a lot of the stuff cannot be replaced. Also, getting new replacement part would be difficult because a lot of the suppliers may/do not export. Or in the case of a lot of it, it's heavy stuff. I will list all of it as used not for resale as suggested by one of the commenters.

So, I am forced to retire. I am going to live in the Philippines with my wife. I have a lot of discrete electronic parts like resistors, capacitors, transistors, vacuum tubes, a Thorens turntable. And some very old Heathkit test equipment. None of this will be for sale, it is just my personal collection from years of being a hobbyist and ham radio operator. I will send it all in a bunch of balikbayan boxes. Except for the Thorens. Am I going to have customs issues? Import duties? No ham equipment in the mix. Just parts. Thank you!

Thank you for the reply. Waiting stinks, but we will wait the months. We have no choice. But, is the probability of approval higher now that the AP has been approved? In other words, are the reasons and criteria for AP approval an indicator that things bode well for the AOS approval? Thank You!!
-
So we just got notice that the AP was approved. Now I'd like to know, is that good news regarding the AOS? Is it likely that it will be issued soon?
-
The crisis in the Philippines is temporarily abated. So we will apply Immediately for the AOS.
-
She needs to leave very soon. How likely is a waiver from the I-601?
-
It did seem bogus to me. This is a family emergency and HOPEFULLY when it is all resolved, I will have a wife with a clear head and lower bills so I can have fun with the lady I love!

My wife came here on a K1 visa, we were married before the expiration. That was June 2014. She has to return to the Philippines. We do not have an AOS on file and cannot file one now. Someone on Yahoo suggest that there may be a 10 year penalty before she can return. Is this true? I know I have to refile to get her back but this whole reason for her trip is a clusterf***.

My Philippine wife and I are here in USA. She came in on a K1 visa. We have not been able to get the $1000+ needed to file for the AOS, yet. She needs to go back to Phil to resolve a family problem. What is the best method for her to be able to come back to USA? Thanks in advance!!
-
So that would be fileing for K3 visa so she could return, not sounding like a viable plan.

My wife is here on a K1 visa. We were married in June. I have not filed for her AOS. She wants to return to Manila to see the wedding of a close friend in January. Can this be done?

Fantastic information. I was wondering about why I'd have to do that. I'd never heard of such a thing either. One way ticket it is. My co-worker wasnt clear at the time telling me who required him to get a RT ticket. I didnt have time to press him on the point.
-
A co worker that did a K1 visa for his bride told me that he had to buy a round trip plane ticket for his fiance rather than a one way ticket. He said it was required so in the outside chance that they didnt get married, that she had airfair back home. Is this true? My girl is almost at the embassy interview point and I want to know what am I likely to need. She is in the Philippines and just took her medical.
Thank you!!

My pkg will go in the mail Thursday since Monday is a holiday and my next day off is then. I have 3 sets of everything, her signature as originals on all. A few more papers from me need to be added to the pile then more copies and into an express mail envelope! With filing fee. I am FINALLY ready to bring my girl here. I hope

Thanks all. I tried to reply to this topic when I was in the Seoul airport but the wifi disconnected me and I lost all my sleep deprived whit.
Thank you Abel and B&G. I do have some support evidence in her legal name and I will provide it. I will ammend my cover letter to reflect the name disparity

My girl's real name on her passport is Maria but I call her by her nic name Jhona. All the "Ongoing Evidence of a Relationship" stuff is in the name of Jhona. What can I do? Should I do anything? I am applying for Maria on the I-129f since that is her legal name.

Simple question (I hope). I work for a large major company and make enough to be above the income guidelines for a K1 visa application for just a wife. This my deal, I can show pay stubs and get a letter of employment. But I do not have a bank account or real estate or anything else to list on the I-134. will this be a problem?
-
it is possible this person may resurface in another company name. I was ripped off of $650 by his Utah based scam front. Please be aware of this person. His business has closed and disappeared. His voice mail box is full and his toll free number is down.

why for? the only time you need to send her docs is when about she have her interview as shes gonna need to have all the originals from what you sent to USCIS, plus a new i-134, new letter of intent to marry to be submitted in her interview incase the CO ask. and you can send all these thru fedEx as one time deal, you will be able to track it so it sure will be delivered.
She needs a place for Fed Ex to deliver mail. Her apartment has no obvious address or mail security.

OK, I want to start the K1 process. I need a location in Manila for the future wife to receive mail from the Government. It should be near Muntinlupa City. I was quoted 1500P a month paid for the year in advance and I think that is too much. Anyplace someone can recommend?
