  1. Mike,

I'm divorced without kids. I have have the orginal divorce decree in 11/2003 which has a court stamp on it. I make 2 copies and sent it them back already, but I'll carry all orginal documents with me when my fiancee gets the interview date. My fiancee should already get the package 3 in hand by now. I'll call her tonite. I'll keep you post all the way through my process. I Hope we all get through with a big smile this summer.

  2. My fiancee called the HCMC consulate yesterday and she told me the package has been sent. I put together all the required documents and sent them back. This is good news for all of us. I know Matt, STL_HCMC and myself may have interview date around the same time. I hope we all pass and come to the states soon.

    Menyoo,

  3. Sorry to hear the news. What did they flag you on?

Take a deep breath, regroup and get 'em what they want. That is all you can do. We are all here on the board to bounce ideas off of.

I truely feel your fustration and sadness. Now I'm worry about our upcoming event is HCMC consulate. Hang in there and hopefully you and your fiancee reunited soon.

  4. Hi VJ,

This is a rediculus request from the CO. I don't know if the consulate don't know or he/she intents to ask for something that 's been obsolete. I just called the IRS and spoke with the representive there. She told me that the IRS 1722 Letter is obsolete and they don't issue that any more, so I ask for the transcript instead. I aslo asked for the publication of the change in procedure at the IRS. She told me to inform the consulate that the IRS is no longer providing 1722 letter, and if he or she don't believe me they can call the IRS directly for verification.

    TT3,

I'm curious as to what did you or your fiancee present the tax documents to the CO@HCMC?

I'm just curious that the CO was asking you for something that's been obsoleted.

  5. I just came across some information that I made a mistake in the paper work that was filed on my K-1 Petition.

I was just getting things cleaned up in my office and I was getting some info from the Affidavit of Support and noticed that The form that was required to submit was the Affidavit of Support I-134, But I submitted Affidavit of Support I-864 Which is for Immediate Relative and Family Preference Visas Not A K-1 Visa.

So what will happen now? Because on the form Affidavit of Support I-134 does not have a place to put my income of my 2005 taxes in. (I used my 2005 Tax return on the I-864 I made around 36,0000 I do allot of OT) Just my hourly income which is not enough to qualify for sponsoring for the K-1. the guide line would be 25,000.00 per year for a family of 4. But now I need to make 29,250.00 for a family of 5. . But my Company letter put my hourly wage on the letter not including the OT so that put me at 27,000.00. I have been a single parent of 3 Kids for the last 11 years. My oldest daughter moved out last year, When my son turns 18 it should not be a problem July 24th is his 18th birthday and he told me that He and his girlfriend were going to get there own place in August. So it will just me with My youngest daughter My fiancée and her daughter. on the I-134 do I need to list my son as a dependent once he turns 18 in July or do I need to wait until he moves out? if this is the case It shouldn't be a problem. I Hope that when my fiancée Gets her interview they will use my 2005 tax return. feel so Stupid at time's I need to slow down and get more organized  . so now I will be filling out the I-134 and bring it to Vietnam in July.

Hey just got my bookings done today I leave on July 2nd for two weeks to Vietnam my 3rd trip in a Year.. Any one going there during this time?

    Robert & Van,

I might be there during this time, but depending on my fiancee interview date. I hope my fiance will get the interview date by July or August. That's the timeline I have in mind right now, but who knows when. Goodluck to you and your fiancee.

  6. Hello everyone,

This is a very sad time for me as my husband, the USC is no more. I am totally devastated. My case just got transferred to CSC and I do not know what happens next.

My condolence; Heaven heals every sorrow that earth has.

Here is the story about someone that I know.

She was in the K3/CR1/IR1 process while her husband in states had a tragic accident. He was later die while she was in her home country. Any way make the story short, she now is an legal permenant resident in the states for about 3 years. I don't have the details how or what she did stay in the US permenantly. Talk to an immigrant attoney to find out what other option you have. I believe you still have a chance to stay in US.

  7. Here is what I got from the HCM consulate:

    Dear Mr. Menyoo

Please be informed that we received the electronic file for

your fiancée on March 20. It usually takes one week for us

to receive the physical file. However, it takes

approximately 8 weeks for us to process the case and update the

information in our system due to the large volume of visa

petitions we receive monthly. We will send an Instruction

Package (packet 3) to your fiancée at the earliest opportunity.

    Sincerely,

  8. STL_HCMC,

My fiancee is also live in Can Tho, Ninh Kieu. I plan to go back during my finacee interview to help her get through. As I understand, petitioners are not allowed to be in the room, but they can be inside the building from Mon-Thurs, Fri closed to US Citizen. If my fiancee passes the interview, I'll buy the ticket and bring her here to the states. Do you plan to go back to vn any time soon?

  9. I'm wondering the same thing, but I read the instruction @

    http://www.***removed***/visas/visitor/i134.html

I claim my step sister in my 2005 tax income. I put her name there and check whole dependent. I'm not sure if I answer Q#8 correct. I don't know if I should check partly or wholly. My fiancee will have the interview soon. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

Goodluck to you and hopefully your fiancee will get the visa in hands soon.

  10. I agree with everything that's been said here. My personal experience with all of these is that I spent approx. $11,000 including airfairs last Novemeber and still paying for many years to come. I think Matt's breakdown is reasonable. Believe me, her family will love you and respect you no matter how you plan your "Dam Hoi". Good luck and enjoy yourself while you're there.

  11. I think it's possible that they send regular mail too, not certain. I called today about my petition, and the NVC told me that case # assigned on 3/15/06 and forwarded to the HCMC on 3/17/06. I just emailed the HCMC to see whether or not they recieve the package. I tried to track DHL ref I-730 date between 3/16/06 and today. I don't see any packages going to HCMC. I'll keep everyone posted when I get the respond from the HCMC consulate.

Just hang in there, I know it's tough.

  12. Hi VJ Members,

I have good news. For those who would like to know thier case #, call the NVC 2 weeks after recieving the NOA 2 approval and talk to an operator. I just called and talked to the operator, and she gave me the case # over the phone but has not forwarded to the HCMC consulate yet. However, the auto system still tells me no record for the recept number I entered. I'm so happy and exited. Thankyou all for posting valuable info here.

  13. I received my NOA 2 on 2/28/06 and still no record at the NVC. I've been calling everyday. The NOA 2 saying give the NVC 4 weeks before calling, but I notice some people get case # assigned with a week. I guess Cali serivce center is a bit slower than other places. Hopefully we'll all get our case # sometimes next week.

  14. I did not sent in any original documents with my I-129f package. I follow a guide here and this website provides valuable info that, in my opinon better than many immigration law offices. My whole package including evidences of relationship, airline tickets, engagement rings recept.... are all photo copies except our pictures. I keep all original documents for my financee to present at the visa interview and still waiting.

Good luck to you and hope all go well in your jouney.

    menyoo,
