  1. HI there

A quick update for you all.

    Following getting my NVC #:,

I sent a correction email (dob was wrong) with evidence attached, as advised by operator.

Had an email a few hours later saying it had been amended. Phoned NVC to check...sure enough it was corrected, that was easy! Couldn't get USCIS to do it..how ever many times I wrote to them.

    I booked my medical - 20th October

I then sent in DS-3032 and I logged into the payment portal..(one of those new things you just have to check!) and it showed not invoiced..no surprise, I hadn't had an email to say they accepted my ds-3032 or a bill for that matter...but it felt good anyway to be able to log in.

Got an email later saying 'We are unable to add third party contact information to the case record at this time. Please continue to notify the NVC of any change in the petitioner's or principal applicant's address'. Guessed I sent in ds-3032 in too fast.

I sent them a copy of the expedite request (5th October) that I had sent to USCIS, with a few corrections as it was now NVC, making sure I followed the correct information I found on the VJ site.

    Had two emails yesterday:

one for the expedite saying 'Your request for the expeditious processing of this immigrant visa petition is currently under review. You will be informed of the results when the review is completed'.

and another email about the ds-3032 'This petition is currently undergoing additional processing. We will send further instructions once this processing is completed'.

I logged into the payment portal and got SIF. Contacted NVC, who said they sent an email to London yesterday. So waiting time to see if they accept or deny the expedite. Which is fine under the circumstances over state side.

Anyway, I am busy working, trying to get the house emptied, not an easy task at all..where does all the stuff come from! My dog had his vet appointment..he is all ok, just need to take him to the vets again nearer to the time for his health certificate. I need to help get my older daughter, her husband and my grandson, sorted into a new property as currently they live with me also! A lot to do and I am feeling tired all the time..and look around thinking this will take years to sort things here, so booked a week off work, end of October, as I will be moving out of the house on the 4th November and going to stay with my sister until Immigration finally happens. My thoughts to be honest for setting a moving out date is, it will be less to think about when the interview finally comes...that I am pretty much ready to hop on a plane!

It's funny to be at this stage again, as I did this once before 14 years ago..but the process was very different back then and my circumstances also.

Ah well, we will see, just a little update for you all.

    Op's

  2. You know this process definatly has it's high's and low's. I have been calling NVC twice a day to get the disappointing answer that 'your case is in the building, but not scanned' conversation. Today, I thought to myself...i won't call at all.

But not being able to control myself..I lifted the phone and dialed the number. Gave my uscis number..and low and behold..she asked for our names and dob....I was shocked..unprepaired totally...

When I gathered myself..i got our NVC # and invoice #, i was elated.

Sadly, the good news ended, when i heard my friend and co-sponser's (if necessary)..mother died last night.

  3. Wow! This seems to be moving so fast! I sent my DS-3032 to NVC by my husbands email this morning and they have already responded back that they have received it and accepted it and that all future correspondence will be addressed to the petitioner (me).

My heart is fluttering because I am so excited and relieved (and hopeful) that this journey is almost over. It feels like it is flying now.

    How exciting :-)

  4. NVC acknowledged receiving my cases on 9/19...waiting for my case number now with NVC. I read today that congress reached an agreement, so there won't be a government shutdown...yay!

We are on the same date for NVC receiving the case....waiting.....waiting

Hope we hear soon, not holding my breath though. I call them everyday, but get same answer 15 - 20 days. A couple of days ago, i was hopeful when they responded with 'call back in a day or two'....waiting :-)

  5. Its coming! leaving for london tomorrow night. Getting the sleeper, getting a mcdonalds breakfast then straight to the embassy!

printed outs screeds and screeds of evidence, and now ready to roll!

Feels like its come dead quick when it really hasn't, being 7 months and all :-P

A question... is the photo place in goulds? or the embassy itself?

Wishing you the best for your interview :-)

  6. Wow, this is the first I've heard of needing previous marriage certificates. NVC doesn't ask for them so why does the London Embassy care? It is standard practice to turn them in when you get divorced in the UK. Does this have anything to do with tracking a name change? Otherwise I don't really see why they want it.

Yeah I had the same surprise. I contacted the Registars office earlier today, paid £10 and will recieve it in 5 days...so not to bad. Just thought I had pretty much checked everything before!

    Thanks for all the responses:-)

  7. Fingers crossed.

By the way, in case there are any other UK beneficiaries out there who have been married before, London requires the original (or certified copy) marriage certificate from all marriages. I didn't realise that until I saw this: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/329952-anybody-else-have-this-happen/page__p__4907568__fromsearch__1#entry4907568

I'm not sure if it is a requirement for any other embassies. I don't have mine because I had to hand it in when I was divorced so I have had to order a copy.

Ohhhh thank you for this....I totally missed it..will get on top of that now. I am assuming I just need mine (Beneficiary) and not my husbands previous marriage certificate?

Anyway, thought I would join you folks on this thread as NVC have recieved my file..of course too early for a case number!

    But trying to get organized.

I have tried to find a sample employment letter that suits our circumstances. I thought I had seen one somewhere on this site..but of course now I need it...I am blessed if I can find it.

It was a letter, for a new job..so said something like the projected income etc

I wonder if any of you have a sample or suggestions on what the letter should say.

I was thinking something along the lines of:

    To whom it may concern

I certify that (petitioner name) has started employment with (company name) as (job title) on (date. This position is permanent, not temporary and his projected income is $xxxxx.xx.

If you have any concerns or queries please do not hesitate to contact me.

    Yours ...blah blah.

Now as this will hopefully be sent soonish. I doubt there will be any pay stubs..however, we do have paystubs from his previous employment.

Our w2's are very weak. As he was only working in the USA from November last year. So 2011 is a small amount and 2010 and 2009 are nil as he was working in the UK.

    so my questions are:

    1. do you think that kind of letter would be ok?

    2. send all w2's with a covering letter?

    3. Send paystubs from previous employment?

We are trying to do this without a co-sponser. Although we could get one.

    4. should we fill in an I-864 for a co-sponser, incase they don't like our w2's and the fact he has started a new job...or does it not really matter?

    5. We are also hoping to expedite NVC..crosses fingers...anyway that raises other thoughts...or maybe I am just very confused...but the I-3032...is it worth me putting my husband to act my agent or just do it for myself. I am kinda hoping the whole file will just be sent to London.

    Anyway, thanks for your help.

Thanks so much for all your help.

  9. after they grant our expedite too in uscis..we wait to have case no. from nvc which is took more time then my uscis to have case no. then thats the time we ask for another expedite and just receive email telling us that our expedite request is under review..but as soon as your expedite will be grant in nvc all the things that didnt done in nvc you will do it on the day of your interview..but you have to call the embassy too tell them your case is expedite approve in uscis and nvc..:)hope it will kinda help you..

    Thank you :-)

Good luck on yours as well by the way

IR-1 then as you'll get a 10 year GC on entry.

Thanks...all this jargon, gets the better of me...LOL

Out of interest if i get a 10 year green card...does that mean I have to reapply after the 10 years?

  10. Do you mind if I ask under what grounds you requested an expedite? Are you doing CR-1 or DCF?

    Hi there

    CR1 (I think.....been married 13 years)

Expedite was approved due to USCIS error

    Thanks

  11. Hi there

I wonder if I might be able to get a little advise...or at least check if i have kinda got this right.

We were approved for an expedite on our I-130, (hubby is the USC and in the USA, I am in the UK) with USCIS. They have now appoved us and our case is on the way to NVC.

So here is how i think it works!

    1. The expedite does not carry through to NVC, we have to request again by email

    2. If the expedite gets approved, the whole case goes direct to london?

I think the above is correct but not sure what happens next.

I think we do the AOS bill with London (maybe on website or phone call?), and send them packet 3 (is this mailed? or emailed?) and take packet four to the interview? with the IV payment and courier payment for the visa.

    Amy input is appreciated :-)

    Thank you.
