Let's blame the Pope also

Took us 7 months without RFE. 5 months is average. It'll happen.
-
Hello everybody. Just a question. Are there any other December filers that are still waiting to be processed (No RFE)? It's been 6 and a half months for me.
-
I'm almost at 6 months and still waiting. they are processing files in random order. so don't worry, they will get to it

I finally met May in the Philippines on April 28, 2012 and stayed there until May 16, 2012. I proposed to her on her birthday while I was there (May 6) and sent the paperwork on May 21st. Now the long wait begins and back to Skype. I've been reading these forums for months now and received a lot of helpful advice. My problem is, it hasn't even been a week since I filed and I'm missing her already. I don't know how people can stand waiting the 5, 6 or more months for their loved one. It's killing me already! I just want to be with her.
Please someone send me some encouragement..
Try 5 years. Try being denied visa once and going through this again. So, my dear, you'll be fine:) Just talk everyday, keep yourself busy, try not to think too much. It'll go fast, 'till you're together again:)

looks like it. It's been over 5 months and there are still a few mid December filers, including me. But I know that many January and February cases had been processed. Unfair.

it was an example of many things. for example all my american friends and his friends and family does the cell phone thing. all my german friends and family dont. it simple was just an example. i could give u many different examples between american and german culture differences.
i lived in the usa for some years b4 i got married and thats my personal experience.
there will be many differences. and they should be talked about without getting into arguments. Arguments never help. But in the first place it is better to see differenced between manners and the idea of cultural differences. Generalizing and steriotyping things would not help. But in terms of cultural differences, yes it can be tough, but tallking about it and learning each other helps a lot. Try to use humor also:))

hi all VJ's
the other day me and my husband had a real stupid argument about a cell phone. where im from and grew up its rude to use ur cell phone when you for example eat together, or when you talk to someone and they just on their cell phone.for him its normal.
so we agreed to disagree.
so im just wondering how you all deal with the daily little culture difference with your spouse???
would be great to hear from you, maybe i can learn something next time lol
Honey, it is not cultural difference. In any culture it is rude to use your cell phone while you are having a conversation, dinner, etc. with someone. It is a simple question of manners. I live in USA for many years now and I know. It is aggrivating when someone does that. My American friends hate that too. Things like that happen in any culture these days

Most of the time, the beneficiary wouldn't do or know much during the filing of the petition. Most of the work is done by the US citizen. It is the US Citizen's responsibility at that stage. However, if indeed the petition was approved with missing documents (which I doubt that there were any missing documents), the US consulate WILL see the mistake and WILL deny the visa. There were a few cases like that. So guys, get the facts streight:)
-
Right now all you should do is keep collecting evidence. Do not try to get any time sensitive papers and documents. Wait until you get NOA2, after that you will have plenty of time to get those documents.

Mailed my I-129F petition thru USPS April 16, 2012, addressed here:
United States Department of Homeland Security
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services
Attn: I-129F
2501 South State Highway
121 Business Suite 400
Lewisville, TX 75067
with attached e-mail notification but until now haven't heard or received NOA1 from them.
Worried coz i see most people here gets their NOA1 4,5,6 days only.
Mine took exactly 30 days. So don't worry

read this thread. This was discussed yesterday:
-
haha, when I put my receipt number (December file), it says 8.7 months. If I just check it without the receipt number it says 5 months for processing ))
-
people in the december filers thread suggesting they've had confirmation it is still a glitch, and still at 5 months... i for one can't handle any more distress for one night, going to bed! hopefully we will have some clarity in a few days. thinking of you all tonight, and how brave/stupid we all are
Exactly

It does look weird, but there were 2 cases I-129F from December processed today, and they had been processing cases from December for the last couple of weeks. I would assume they go back and forth betwen cases, so even they can't keep track of which date was processed. It is very random processing, but as I understand it takes 5-6 months for each case anyway.
-
yeah, they did the same for I-129F. Last month it showed processing time "5 months", and now they went back to June 2011. But I know that 2 cases from December had been approved and updated today. I think their processing is pretty random, but they still do it within 5-6 months for each case. Gotta get some patience.

I feel for you. Same thing happened to us last fall. They don't give you a good reason, just lack of evidence, even though it was provided in boxes. We got a lawyer and applied for the same visa K1 again. Hope everything works out for you. Good luck.
-
don't worry, the processing time is 5 months. Which means 5 to 6 months. they are usually pretty good in their time frame.

Like I wrote above, the country Armenia (that's a country). I submitted phone bills, social network conversations, skype, IM, plane tickets, some pictures. we only had a few pictures, they wanna see more. Apperently you have to submit the history for every single day of conversations AND take pictures. And also, everyone who makes less than $23000, should have a co sponsor as back up, every officer looks at it differently (word from lawyers)

So, no luck with the first try K1 visa. Reason: Not enough evidence (Don't know what that means anymore, different meaning for every person) (Denied at consulate). Time line for the first try: Date I-129F Sent : 2010-12-28. Date I-129F NOA1 (Receipt) : 2011-01-03. Date I-129F NOA2 (Approved) : 2011-06-17. Date Package Received By NVC : 2011-06-28. Date Package Left From NVC : 2011-06-29. Date Received By Consulate : 2011-07-11. Date Rec Instructions (Pkt 3) : 2011-07-13. Interview Date (K1 Visa): 2011-08-04. Interview Result:: Administrative Review. Second Interview Result:: Denied
Hired a lawyer, she said that our case is a winning case (not news to me, duh), let's see what happens. Hope this topic will help somebody in similar situation.
Also want to add: send ALL the evidence you have, dig deep, find it, send them a box, 2 boxes if you have too. Kill them with papers )
Thanks to all

Looking at the stats here: http://travel.state.gov/visa/statistics/nivstats/nivstats_4582.html - 51.4% of B-1 visas from Yerevan are denied. That seems higher than most.
In 2010, there were 129 K-1 visas granted by Yerevan. There is no data I could find on how many were rejected.
Worldwide, in 2010, there were 32,288 K-1 visa applications, 30,999 which were approved on the first attempt, 979 were successfully appealed. That leaves 310 that never got their visa.
Based on the overall stats, Yerevan rejected 1, maybe 2 people in 2010 for a K-1. I doubt their rejection rate would be more than a factor of 10 worse than the typical embassy (I would have to think this would be noticed), but even if it is 10x the average, this still gives you about a 90% chance of eventual approval.
SSSSS - you will win here, but it will take more time.
Thank you for the info. yeah, eventual approval. This is why I talk about time. You see, a lot of people are worrried if they gonna get the visa or not. I know he will, I just worry about the time. That's why I didn't come here looking for an answer to "why", I came here to look for an answer to "how long"
