  1. So this is what I am including with my AOS...please let me know if I am missing anything...

    1. bar code page

    2. I864 form

    3. IRS Tax Return 2011

    4. w-2 Form

    5. Employment Verification Letter (the last 3 years annual salary is stated on the letter)

    6. last 6 months paystubs copies

You can also request a tax transcript from the IRS anyway its free, so if NVC asks for it you are already prepared most people get a checklist from them requesting for the transcript even if you provide the W2 and 1040 besides that everything is looking good, goodluck!

  2. Do I need co sponsor who have past taxes? This can be a problem in NVC or during my interview?.....

    Thanks!!

Yes you need to get a co-sponsor and you can also use your assets to support the I-864. NVC will not send the documents to the embassy for interview until you provide the affidavit of support.

  3. my case was complite 2012 feb 28 from IR1 case now how long I have to wait for my wife interview date help me....

What kind of help? You just have to wait, NVC will send you the packet with the interview date and the checklist of what kind of documents you still need to provide. You can call NVC and speak to one of the operators and see if they can look up the interview date. Goodluck on your interview!

  4. Hello to all my fellow VJ members,

I do hope all is well as we await our responses from the various agencies.

I have a quick question or three that may be on someone elses mind also.

Is it advisable or recommended to submit new evidences to the Consul through

the NVC when you submit your AOS and other requested documents?

e.g. Additional evidence of ongoing financial support, co-mingling of finances,

correspondence of any kind, receipts from online flower purchases, receipts from

    mailing birthday gifts etc.......

Can, or will this delay the NVC process?

Do you think it is worthwhile to do this so that the Consul has this additional information in

your file, in his/her hand, reviewing this evidence before you are in front of them at the interview?

I know others here have done this, and would the case number need to be printed on every document in upper

right corner to maintain consistency and accuracy of file?

Give me your take on this.......pros and cons.

Thanks all and I bid you all glad tidings and happy responses.

If NVC does not ask for it then just hold on to those documents and bring it on the interview and wait if the CO asks for it.

  6. I'm overly stressed I contacted the U.S Embassy and also the NVC and they both have confirmed that my fiance's interview is on April 3rd but we have yet to receive the interview package, should we be worried? Should I proceed and purchase my plane ticket? The last letter I received was from the NVC that they were sending our case to the embassy.

    Please advice....Thanks in advance....

Do not buy a plane ticket until the visa is on hand or approved after the interview.

  7. Hello fellow VJ members.

    My Questions.

    1) It appears that I can petition with just a copy of the naturalization certificate, which I think should be given to me at the oath ceremony (fingers crossed), and do not need to have a US passport. Please confirm.

    2) Please advice what document(s) I should submit that may evidence the bona fides of our marriage ?

    Thank you in advance

    1. Yes you can send only the copy of naturalization certificate.

    2. Marriage Certificate, Pictures from the wedding and there are many more documents to support the case e.g Document from insurance company showing your spouse as the beneficiary.

  8. How much money will I need to have in my bank in order to sponsor my wife? I heard some people say around $5,000 - $10,000 is that right? What will they be looking at? Your income tax right? Money in the bank right? If it not $5,000 then does any one know exactly how much you would need in order to bring your wife here?

If you earn enough money then you dont need to fill out Part 7 of the I-864 which is the assets (e.g Money in Bank, Stocks.) In order to know if you earn enough money go ahead and check the I-864P which is the poverty guideline.

The main thing NVC looks at is your current income (W2 and Federal Income Tax return for the year 2011) thats the most important thing.

If you dont met the minimum income, no worries, you can always get a co-sponsor if you dont have that much money in your bank.

  9. As stated by my title my wife had been denied a tourist visa (B2) two times in the past once in 2005 and another one in 2008. I was wondering if this would affect our CR1 process now. At the time she was denied we were not married. I had been living in Dominican Republic since 2000 and actually returned in 2008. That is the last time she attempted the tourist visa attempt in order to come see me. If anyone has any input with this please let me know. In the i130 app I actually forgot about this and answered question #16 which states "Has your relative ever been under immigration proceedings?" We answered no being that the process was never commenced since she didn't meet the requirements. Please let me know what you think I should do regarding our answer to that question if anything or if her two previous apps for a tourist visa will affect her CR1 now. Thanks in advance

It wont affect unless the denial was because of fraud.

  10. Before my husband sent the I-864, he called and talked to a person from the NVC. She told him that W2 and Certificate of Employment are enough to go along with his I864. After they received it, they said that changes were made in the requirement and he need to add the IRS transcript...hayyys.

Really thats what the operator said? OMG the operator messed up on that one :bonk: I believe since then the instruction was W2 + 1040 (Federal Income Tax Return) tax transcript is optional if you sent both W2 and 1040.

  11. Yes, they are asking for the transcript. We already sent the DS 230 and the other required papers. It's just lately that they asked for the IRS transcript of my husband. They said that he need to submit that paper before they continue the process....why do you think po?

It only takes 5-7 days to get the transcript and its free. What did your husband sent together with the I-864? Did he sent the w2 and income tax return for the past 3 years?

  12. Hello VJ's

How long will it take for my husband to get his IRS ( Internal Revenue Service ) for his I-864. The NVC requires him to submit that paper before they consider my papers complete,(that's the only missing part of the NVC process).

    OR

Will the NVC forward my papers to US Embassy Manila even we haven't submit the IRS yet?

    PLEASE HELP PO!! Thanks

Did NVC approved the I-864? Coz sometimes they approve the I-864 even without the Transcript and send the case to US EMBASSY IN MANILA but they will add the Transcript on the checklist and you need to show it to the CO during the interview. I checked your timeline and you dont have one, did you sent the DS 230 already?

  13. Have you requested the tax transcripts? If you haven't, I'd highly suggest you do. Even if you don't need them for NVC, you might need them at the interview. Plus, they're free.

Yes i have requested it 2-3 weeks ago but since i am staying on a military base overseas right now maybe thats why until now i have not received it yet.

How does one find out if the AOS package is accepted? Is there an email of some kind?

    Thanks!

You have to call them or send them an email.

  14. Hello Everyone,

Been a while since my last post. Hoa and I have been talking alot and I have my flight to Vietnam coming up on March 23rd. We are very excited to finally be able to get together and after all the time talking I have proposed to her and asked her to marry me. :D I am overjoyed that she has accepted and once I am in VN we plan on having the engagement party :dancing: . It is important for me that she and her family are happy and I want to include her family and friends as much as we can. So given the timing and my availability from work, we are wondering if it is best to pursue the k-1 visa or marry once I am in Vietnam and pursue the k-3 visa at that point. Would it go bad if we have the engagement party and we marry in 1 week during my trip to VN?

    Thanks alot for your input.

    Scott

Go for K1, K3 is nothing it will just make the I-130 process longer or make you wait longer.

  15. Got my NVC canse number, BIN, and IIN today.

Case number showed up in an e-mail as a reply to my Case Inquiry, and I just talked to an operator to get my BIN and IIN.

Fees aren't invoiced yet, but who cares, after six months of waiting for my I-130, this much progress in a few days is enough to give me an aneurysm

NVC process everything fast, i already sent my I-864 and its been only 6 days since they received my case, NVC is faster compared to USCIS maybe because they sent everything thru email. Im expecting to complete my case in a month or 2.

  16. Call and ask them, you'll need your USCIS case number. The phone number is somewhere here on this website.

Or send NVC an email at NVCinquiry@state.gov, they usually send a reply in 1 business day

Make sure to put your case or receipt number on the subject

Provide the petitioners name and date of birth and the beneficiary name and date of birth.
