Hi all! I have just got home from my interview at the embassy in London, and we're approved!!!
The immigration guy did say that I wouldn't be able to work on the CR-1 until I had employment authorization though. Is that true??? Saylin? I was under the impression that I could work as soon as the visa was stamped at the border, and I had my SSN

Visa Approved
Did get told that I'll have to wait a few weeks at least before I can start work though as I need Employment Authorization. Does that sound right???

Gotcha...2011
Thanks Saylin, I'll give you all an update next week when the interview is done

Hi all! We've got our interview next Friday, and we know we need to have the 2012 tax transcript, but does it have to be the original or can it be a scanned copy. As of now, we still haven't received it, so some pressure will be taken off if we can take a copy. Also, do we need all of the pages with the breakdown, or just the 1st one with the Total income

Nica,
I actually called before they received my case, and they said to send an email and they'd deal with it when my case was put into the system, which according to the email reply to my email, was today. As for the reasons, I let them know that we found out that we're expecting twins, Emily is out of work in the US, and that I have a job lined up to start in June, and my late May interview date was going to put that in jeopardy. So yes, I did have a few reasons, and I am definitely glad that I send the email! Hope this helps

We've managed to get our interview date moved forward!!! Sent an email to the embassy last week, and they've moved us up from May 29th to May 4th So happy!!!
-
I think I must have been lost from the list on the 1st page. May 29th in London

Thanks for the advice/feedback Saylin and Alaska, and for the congratulations from everyone else. I just called the US Embassy in London, and they said to email them, and as soon as my case is in the system, then they'll see what they can do about moving the date up. I, the dad to be, am actually the beneficiary, so luckily my wife doesn't have to go through the stress of the interview and travelling. I definitely won't hold my breath for an expedite, but you never know, there may be a cancellation.

Hi All!
Emily and I have had some great news in the past week. She's pregnant...with twins!! It's safe to say that I am as excited and as scared as I have ever been. Our interview is scheduled in London for May 29th at the moment, and obviously we'd like to be together as quickly as possible. So questions...1)I know pregnancy doesn't qualify you for an expedite, but does twins change this? And 2) Is it even possible to expedite when an interview has been set, and how would I go about doing this...via NVC or the Embassy now?

Hi All,
Our interview is May 29th. A bit of a wait, but Emily is going to come over to England in a few weeks for the final leg of the wait. Just hoping that my passport arrives quickly after the interview, as I have a job lined up to start on June 11th
Fingers Crossed

Interview date Assigned! Unfortunately it's about a week late for Emily's Birthday, so looks like she'll be flying out to England for a few weeks before we fly back together. May 29th in London...Done and Done!

Alaska 2012, Obviously it's different for every one, but our AOS paperwork took 2 days to be approved after arriving at NVC, and the IV package was accepted the next day after arrival. Call every day as soon as it gets there
-
Thanks Divs Looks like it really is possible to get through NVC quickly if you've got everything ready AND go by Saylin's guidelines! And the 15 days included all paperwork being sent from England, since Emily has been here. She's on her way back to Chicago now though, so the last leg of the process will be lonely again Oh well, time to stay optimistic
-
Another UK case complete! Now to keep an eye on when everyone gets their interview dates. Gutted that I'm almost guaranteed to miss my Sister-in-Law's wedding in 6 weeks, but I'll be happy if I can make it for Emily's birthday in 8 weeks. Fingers are crossed

Yesterday was a good day! IV package received by NVC, Found out that the AOS package was reviewed and accepted on Wednesday, and completed the Medical nice and easily (Despite stressing out that my blood pressure was going to be high). All in all, a very good day! Now just to wait for NVC Case Complete next week, and the Interview. This loooong process is almost over

We're a day behind you Divs. Have sent the DS-230 package from England today, so it should be there by Friday. Looks like I'll be keeping a close eye on when you get Case Complete
-
Divs, Thanks for the advice. I saw on your signature that you re-sent it on March 13th. Was that just when you mailed the paper copy?
-
I sent the DS-3032 email on Monday straight after getting the NVC number, but haven't got an acceptance of rejection yet. I did get the auto response so should I just wait for them to process the email or re-send the email?
-
Well we've sent the photocopy off now. We actually sent one of our certified copies before, so that is the only reason I suggest they have lost it. Our Official's handwriting isn't great, but surely it won't get any more legible than a certified copy
-
We just got the letter explaining our RFE through, and it is asking us for a legible copy of our Marriage certificate. We orinally sent a certified copy of our marriage certificate, which has obviously been lost by USCIS, but I wanted to check, do I have to send a certified copy of the marriage certificate, or will a regular photocopy be fine?
-
Good and bad news. We finally got news from CSC, but they've sent as an RFE. Gutted, as we have to wait for the notice in the mail before we can send the evidence, but I guess we're close

My wife and I are trying to get ready for the NVC part of the CR-1 process and we're a bit confused about what needs to be sent with the I-864 form. Is it sufficient to just send the W2 for the last 3 years and tax transcripts or do we have to get a letter of employment and send the pay stubs as well?
-
Got NOA1 on August 4th and have the form. Time to wait un(patiently)

Hi,
My fiancee and I are getting married in the US next month and then I'm leaving the country 2 weeks later. We'd like to get the CR1 process started as quickly as possible so I was wondering if she can submit the petition whilst I'm still in the US or if she has to wait until I leave the country.
Thanks
Dan

Hi,
My name is Dan, and I moved over to the US back in May last year from the UK, and was using Visa Journey daily, as I'm sure many of you are. I am now a Technical Recruiter with Bluewolf, an IT recruitment company in Chicago. I currently have a requirement for a French speaking IT Help Desk consultant, with a focus on Windows XP and Windows 7 support. This position could lead into more work for the rest of the year.
