  1. :goofy: Oh, I forgot to mention . . . Keith talked to Daryl's mother this morning in England (she had been out of town since Friday and didn't know any of this before). She said she KNEW about it. Daryl had told her last week that he was going with this girl to stay for a week. Funny how he hides it from his dad and me who are supporting him, and funny how he says he "forgot" to tell us 2 hours before she arrived. We are worried, but we are fuming even more now.:goofy:

Wow Shari - I have just read through this post. Even though I am only a stepmother, I feel for you and Keith so much. As for his mum knowing, that would have made me mad as hell. Personally I'd send him back to the UK, you & Keith are in the early stages of developing a relationship 'together' and I am sure you do not need all this additional stress. I also remember all the stress you had just before Keith got to fly over, you both deserve a peaceful life for awhile.

If he wanted to use his move to the USA to develop a better relationship with his Dad, then I would say let him stay. But as he has no interest in doing this, you can only assume he is there for his own means. I'd meet him at the door with his suitcase and a ticket back to his mum, who he does seem to care about.

I hope this works out for you.

  2. Hey Monique this really made me smile....because my mum told me yesterday she is coming back for 5 weeks (!!!) in mid-May

It is my 40th in mid-June, so I think similar reasons to Geoff's mum.

My mum only left here on 29 December and this is the woman who did not like the USA and would not do longhaul flights regularly!! I am really happy she liked it so much here, she already wants to return.

    Enjoy her stay

  3. I have never heard of this before and did not get it. It sounds to me like your case might have been selected for 'administrative review'. Just be happy this happened after you got here, sometimes it happens during the I129-F.

I would just continue as normal and go for SSN etc.

If it is admin review do not worry too much, it can slow things down but you are at least in the USA.

Maybe call the number they give and get confirmation of what this is.

  5. Rosie - I think its just a case of members getting to know each other if they post on here alot. I think it's then natural for them to acknowledge those they know better than others.

Everyone is very welcome here, we all have something to add for the benefit of others.
