US Embassy and Consulate Discussion
This is the place to post your experiences or questions related to this last step before moving to the US. Topics relating to I-134's, packets sent from consulate and medical & police certificates should be posted here.
Thanks. Now I understand.

police clearance topics are by forum definition, best posted in the consulate forum... moving thread
@payxibka, I thought also for K1 Topic.
Thanks anyway
Police certificates are only valid for 1 year from the date they were issued. You need to get a new one.
(In my country, there is also 1 year validity and it shows on the PC.)
Actually, the Taiwan PC issued to me has no validity written on it, still valid for a year then? Thanks.

I got a question about police clearance (PC).
As per interview requirement: "Only if your fiancee has ever lived outside of her country: Other country police certificate: Applicants aged 16 years and older must also present police certificates from other countries where they have lived for 6 months or more after reaching the age of 16."
I went out of the country for many years and the last time was April 2005 - April 2007. A week before I left Taiwan, I already applied and got a PC dated March 23, 2007 and left Taiwan last April 3, 2007.
Do you think this PC is still acceptable in the embassy even if the date was few years ago? Or I need to obtain a new PC?
I need to know this early because getting a PC could take several weeks. Please help. Thanks a lot!
