Called the DOD today and they provided even less information than Guangzhou did… All they can tell me is that the package was sent and GUZ hasn’t received it yet. I kind of figured that out already...

Called the DOS today and they told me that the file is in a batch of files being held up in Chinese customs. They have no idea how long it will be there!

A person who received their NOA2 1 week before I did already received Packet 3 last week! Guangzhou hasn't even received my file from the NVC yet! I'm growing more frustrated by the day! Jie REALLY wants to be here by Halloween.

Fed up with NVC dithering on issuing case numbers on files.

I have resigned myself to the likely probability that my file will spend another weekend in waiting for a case number purgatory.

We have our GUZ case number!!! Packet 3 will be in the mail tomorrow!!!

I called the NVC today. They told me that they need 15 business days to fully process each file, but that the files are forwarded to the Embassy after only one or two days. That means that Guangzhou already has our file!!!

OK so I was TOTALLY premature on all of this. I called today and the woman said that they just received the file today and it will be sent by DHL in the next few days to GUZ. She told me to call at the end of the week and they will tell me when it was sent out. The operator told me that ALL these visas go out DHL, which I don't think is entirely true, but I couldn't say anything to her. I'll just be more patient!

I really don't understand how an Embassy could mail your Beneficiary an out of date DS-230 Part I . According to what I've read before old versions are obsolete ! So keep an eye out for this . I've read of cases where people who have filled out the old versions and later had to revise them with the new version because they were told by the Embas... -

Received an RFE yesterday. I think that's good news and bad news both. At least now we know what we have to do to get our approval. Although I may need some help from someone from China with this.
