We did two separate ones. Worked out great!

YAY! Received email that Green Card is approved and coming in the mail!!! So exciting. Thanks for all the help and advice so far!

Gosh I feel so stupid... We didn't file because we thought it was $380 not free when filing for AOS.... guess that's what you get when you don't get a lawyer or apparently not pay attention. Whoops. Thanks everyone for the help!

I didn't file for the EAD when we filed for the AOS back in February. At this point should I just wait for the AOS to come in (hopefully within a month or two) or should I file for the EAD so I can go ahead and work. I know it takes about two months to get as well...

My case got transferred to CSC and I've read online that it takes like 60 months to get approved! That's crazy! Is this really true? What should I do?

I wrote a letter/email directly to one of our state senators instead of a congressman, and they got back to me pretty quickly and helped me so much with everything to speed the process along. I ended up working with the head of travel/visas person and she was amazing in getting back to us and calming through the process.

Thanks!!! So stressful haha.

Thank so much! We have decided to go with the two separate I-864's.

Awesome! Thanks so much. EV11 - great advice, will do that!

For the AOS with the I864 do I need Bank letter and Present Balance of my sponsor and Letter from Employer or will just tax forms from IRS be enough?

do I still need to file form i-693?

I am filing for AOS. I don't meet the poverty lines so my mother is co-sponsoring. Me and my husband are currently living with my mother to get financially on our feet. What forms does my mom (co-sponsor) file? Should we just go ahead and file:
i-864= me
i-864= mom
i-864a= mom
I've heard stories of how people got RFE's if they don't file all.

In the section it states "Completed Series (check if Completed, Write "VH" if Varicella History, or write Date of Lab Test if Immune) They wrote in VH, I have had Chicken Pox and told them, do you think this is ok then?

Hello! I'm filing for the AOS now, I got my medical exam done during the K1 process back in England. They don't have the Varicella shot, therefore I did not get it. Do I need to go to a doctors office here to get it before filing for the AOS? Other than that everything in the medical was perfectly fine. I just need to know whether or not to go get shots for it or not. And if so, can I go to any doctor?
Thanks in advance!

Visa was approved!!!!!!!
-
Hey everybody, this is just a followup from a post that I posted in October. My fiance had tried drugs in the past and the embassy is aware of that after having medical records sent. We were worried that he wouldn't get his visa because of this, BUT he had his interview today and he just called me to tell me that he got approved for the visa and should be in the mail soon! Apparently they didn't even ask him about it. Barely asked him any questions. He said overall it was super fast, easy, and stress free. Just wanted to let you all know!
WE GOT THE VISA!!!!!!!!! :) :) So happy!

exactly what he said.

haha it comes to the uk in feb... enjoy

a movie about a love story about an American and a UK citizen and their visa problems... sounds a bit far fetched to me
haha dan id knew youd appreciate this! it comes to the uk in february

Just wondering if anyone has seen the movie "Like Crazy" it's not playing in theaters around me but a bunch of my friends in California told me that it's a love story about an American and a UK citizen and their visa problems and what not. It looks really good. Wish I could see it!!!

Will do. I've been talking to some legal people and they suggested possibly getting some attorney or something, but I suppose it depends on how much they would charge. I still find the whole situation ridiculous. People grow up and change. I can guarantee that most people are nothing like they were when they were a teenager.

Ah, I see!! I'm sure it will go in his favour and if everything else appears in order plus with the character references I'm sure it'll be fine..
Thank you makes me happy to hear such kinda things from everyone! I
Towns/Cities Similar to England
in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America

Hello! I was wondering if I could get any suggestions on towns and or cities that have a similar feels to England. My husband is missing home and we are thinking of moving to a place that will feel a bit more like it. He wants to be able to walk to town and whatnot.
Please let me know!
