Hey all my Haiti Filers! Just wanted to say I received my e-mail from USCIS today APPROVING my I-129F!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe it has actually happened!!! After 4 months and 3 days!!!

I wanted to know whether or not you used a lawyer and how did it go. Did it make a difference if you had one? Did you feel you needed one if you didn't? Was it enough that you had done your research and gotten help from this website?

If you or your husband never had a run in with US immigration before and this will be your 1st time and there's nothing else that could stop you give to get an APPROVAL then NO Lawyer is needed. My husband and I just finished our process and now we are together as a family and we didn't get a lawyer just followed each steps on VJ and everything worked out well. There's a big support community here who we are always here to help and answered questions and you might even make some good friends too. Good luck God bless :thumbs:

It's a GOVERNMENT ID it's very important to get one. Everywhere you will go if one is trying to apply for a bank account or SSN or traveling they will always ask for a Government ID. Yes an LPN is authorized to get one it proves that they are legal to be here and don't have to walk around with their passports and GC everywhere.

I have been checking out timelines, not a lot are updated so I thought I would ask... on average how long has your process taken? It seems I saw that interviews are taking awhile to be scheduled, just curious.

I filled in April and was expedited at USCIS and we got the visa on December 20th. It took forever from NVC to interview because the wait for Cr1 is forever for interviews.

I'm curious, is calling the NVC everyday helpful? I am currently waiting for a visa appointment, but I don't want to mess up my process by trying to call them everyday. But if its helpful, then I should do it?

actually it doesn't do anything to your wait because you're just calling to check your status. I CALL EVERY DAY M-F FROM MAY UNTIL NOVEMBER WHEN I GOT MY INTERVIEW DATE.

My fiancee and I will be getting married. I am a US citizen, and she is a Korean citizen.

The wedding will take place in Korea because all of her friends and family are there. The plan is for us to move to the US within 2-3 weeks after the wedding.

Because we are still both legally single, I am confused about what I need to do to bring her over to the US.

We don't seem to fit into the category of an IR-1/CR-1 or a K-1 visa.

I am in need of some serious help! Thank you in advance!

I only have a couple words for you guys, there's only 2 ways either go the K1 route and get married in the USA or got the CR1 route and get married over seas BUT none will TAKE 2-3 WEEKS. We all here wished it would but it doesn't please go through in the forums read up on the country she's coming from and make a plan that is more realistic ok because i don't want you to set your hopes up and it's not what it you think it should be.
