Ah ok. Thanks for the info. So, 6 or 7 months then maybe. Any idea why the website says 55 months? (Well I guess it says an "average" of 17.5 months - but either way it seems messed up!)
No 100% but I think that might be for adjusting from a different visa or it was from when they last received cases there in the first instance.
if you look at this thread for November filers it seems like a few are coming through now

yeah im on the same timeline as you. I have read on other threads that, when someone called they were told that the CSC is currently processing transferred cases that were originally filed in November. SO hopefully in a couple weeks we should see some movement
-
Yeah im pretty much on the same timeline as you Filed in Dec and transferred on the 2nd of Feb. The CSC is still working on october filed cases so it could be a while before we are seen to

I'd update when getting word from USCIS. However, it's taking them approx 6 months to peak at the AOS as far as I know(right now) for cases transferred to CSC. Try searching for people a month or two ahead of you, or follow the oct/nov AOS thread, it'll sometimes give you a better overview.
Cheers Moomin, Looks like we are the same track too

Questions based on your timeline...have you received your EAD/AP Card yet? Have you received an interview date? If not have you called USCIS to follow up?
They could be waiting on a response to an RFE that you may not have received in the mail. Seems odd that your timeline has no further update since February 2012.
You mention "many left waiting also". Why are many left waiting?
Yep EAD/AP received just after my case was transferred to California (CSC). No interview date doubt i'll get one seeing as I have been transferred for faster processing. Did have an RFE back in January but it was sent back the same day. then my case was actioned on and forwarded
I only mention others left waiting as I have seen from the statistics and "immigartion timelines" section that others who filed and were transferred around the same time as me havent been approved yet either.whether thats because they werent bothered updating once they got approved

I had the same issue. . . .
http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/342781-social-security-nightmare/
Just send an email on the ssa comments page (http://ssa-custhelp.ssa.gov/app/ask_feedback), give them as much info as you can and a number in which to contact you. I emailed on a thursday/friday i think and i got a call on monday morning saying that it would be sorted out

Define 'Decent breakfast'.....
'Cause if it includes; pancakes (drenched in syrup to hide their rankness), 'bacon' (fatty, stringy, shite), and scrambled (destroyed) eggs, that one can get in I-Hop... then your definition of a 'decent breakfast' is warped.
Also, Iced coffee... I disagree with it.

UPDATE!!!
Guys everyone will be happy to know after 1 email, sent on Friday giving info and requesting a return call, today Monday got a call from head office to say that the issue has been resolved and that i can return in tomorrow to receive the number assigned to me
Its a Christmas Miracle!!!!!

SO do you reckon i should bother going back in there and annoying them further? I am going to email SSA directly if i can find the correct address.
Anyone have an idea how long (ball park) DHS verification normally take?

I don't have any specific advice but can attest to the fact that the process can be a nightmare for something as simple as a typo (on THEIR part!) It's only made worse because they won't tell you what the specific problem is and DHS and SSA keep kicking it back and forth between the two. My wife's SSN took about 6 weeks, first due to an incomplete name in one of their databases, then a typo in the "corrected" name, so prepare yourself.
I haven't seen him in a while, but look for a poster named "I Quit" here on VJ. Very helpful on SSN issues.
Best of luck and hope your issue is resolved quickly..
Cheers Ryna
It is frustration when you get pencil pushers who just dont really care either way

Hi, my husband and I just received his visa in the mail today and we have flights back to the States tomorrow. Can anyone tell me about you POE in Dublin and roughly how long it takes. Also I would like to thank everyone for the help and advice that you have given us over these past 8 months. It has been a long wait and we are excited to finally start our lives together in America :-)
When I went through on the 11th of december it was really quick, got down there and there was no one waiting for the passport check area. I was brought into the back room, my packet was opened and i was sent on my way. all in all at most 10-15 mins really easy

Hi Everyone,
hopefully someone has an insight what i can do next in my predicament.
I applied for my Social Security Number on the 23rd of November at my local SSA Office. I was 1 day shy of the 2 week waiting period for me to be entered onto the SAVE system. Not a problem tho the person i was dealing with said he would hold onto the application and submit it after thanksgiving. By December 6th no reply from the SSA either way of what happened, I return again to clarify any issues. They tell me that there is an issue on the DHS side of things and that I need to contact them to find out the issue.
So i did, tried to call but got lost in their maze of endless phone options. SO i email the the SAVE team directly, 2 days later they reply that the case has been resolved on the 2nd of december and to contact the SSA again. Today i went back in to the SSA and told them what i had been told, showed them the email, they replied that they had sent in a form to get more information. They expressed that they WOULDNT call homeland security to clarify or fasttrack the problem. and gave me no indication of what to do next.
Pretty furious at this I called the SAVE section of DHS and they explained that they couldnt discuss any details with me directly and only with the SSA. they also advised that the correct procedure is for the SSA to call them and rectify the problem and that on there end of things there is no problem
I would like to get this behind me so i can open a bank ac and get a drivers licence etc
any help would be appreciated
