Well after 11 months to the day after I sent out my AOS, got notice this evening that they had registered my status!!!!

So after 7 and a half months of nothing I get an RFE to re-submit my marriage licence. I am 1000% percent sure that I included it the first time, which means they lost it, what an absolute joke!!!

Nope nothing yet!!! but im not really surprised

I had zero trouble with AP, I submitted my AOS in DEC 2011 and had word authorization and advance parole approved in FEB 2012. no problems coming back through dublin in march. similar to when they process your K1 packet, they take you to the back room look things over and send you on your way.

ALSO another note on processing times for the I-485 itself the processing times are accurate if your case is sent to a local office and your called for an interview. But if you case is sent to the California Service Centre (CSC) it could take much much longer. Im still waiting to hear something back and mine was transferred in FEB

Thank you God. Just received info that my GC is on card production. I checked it one minute earlier and nothing. Then the text messages came and I checked the USCIS website and there it was. My husband and I together with our cat danced together to celebrate.

Contacted the USCIS today to find out what is going on with my case. Was told that it is "in Use" and has been since the middle of august.

But a piece of information that might be helpful to others is that the Tier 2 officer mentioned that if you change your address it can slow down the case for up to 90 days!!!

Any update guys? Mine is still in limbo.

Im still waiting too! no end in sight. Have filed service requests, no joy. Contacted my congressman today, we'll see what comes of that

I finally received a response from one of the 5 people (Service request, Ombudsman, congressman, 2 senators) I've contacted for help with our AOS. It reads: "USCIS records indicate the I-485 case MSCXXXXXXX is currently under review with an officer. Your constituent should receive a notice of action within 45 days." To say that I am underwhelmed is quite an understatement. Is this the standard response? I checked today, and our case still hasnt been touched since 02/03/2012.

In the exact same boat as yourself, I contacted my local Congressman Mike Honda's office last week and got a reply that the USCIS current processing time frame for I-485 is 12-18 mths and that they couldnt help until im outside that time well im coming up on 9mths since I filed

Has anyone had a progress in the last few weeks?

Being transferred to the California Service Centre (CSC) is kind of a double edged sword, on the one hand there is a strong likelihood that you wont be called for an interview. On the other hand, on the downside, your wait time from now to decision date will more than likely be much greater than if you had been called for an interview.

In my case I filed in Dec and was transferred on the 1st of Feb and I havent heard a thing since then. But I know of people who filed in the middle of march and were approve through interview in the middle of June.

SO it can be good or bad depending on how you look at it

Contacted the USCIS today to try and put in a service request, got the brush off. But the guy on the other end did make something clear (at least it made sense to me) about the processing times at USCIS.

He said that because there is no official processing time for AOS from a family based visa, they go by the processing time at your local office. so if your case falls outside of processing time at say the San Francisco office then you can lodge a service request.

I want to know if this is true or was this just a brush off to not help me????
