I used to dream of a romantic beach wedding but since I have to be practical, I think there's no need for that. It will be too expensive. Me and my fiance will do the same thing. The "drive thru" wedding :)haha. After all, the main reason why I want to marry him is because I love him and not because of what he can give me.

I know what you feel because we have this fairy tale fantasy as a woman but I guess we are grown ups and should see the reality of life. Some people want it to be memorable and others just want to brag about it. You'll be fine. HELLO, everyone, anybody here from chicago illinois had their civil surgeon done already? and anyone here could advice me where and whats the doctors name?..coz i just had my appointment with the civil surgeon this morning and shes also accrideted with the USCIS but the thing is,,it seems like they dont know what i needed...i showed my vaccinaation report and CD from st. lukes but still they cant perform the I-693 for me because they need the whole report from St. lukes which,,we K1 dont have a copy to all of those medical results because it was all submitted to the POE already...i dont know which doctor to go anymore, that knows about immigration medical thing...

anyone here could share their experience here in chicago, illinois?

hello everyone...i have a question about the G-325A form for ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS...do I still need to put my former husbands name again in the philippines? which was also being annuled there and submit again my annulment decree? or do just put "none"? coz my understanding on this question is,,if i have a former husband here in the U.S...which was none..my first husband here in the US is my husband now...and i dont have a former husband here...but on my G-325A during my I-129F application, i put my former husband there because at that time we were still applying for the K1 visa and i need to put all my biographic information in the philippines, so the USCIS has record of that already & i also submitted my annulment decree as so on to them,,,before my K1 has been approved...

This had been an ongoing issue of NBI until they will be able to get renewal for their terminal w/c run out of contract...they said its undergoing bidding yet if your fiancee want it quick, she can go to Manila. she should be at the nbi office there at around 3am to be on the line as there are a lot of applicants there. its a one day transaction if her name gets no HIT. goodluck!!!

in dumaguete city in negros is just 10mins,, you can get your NBI clearance right away, with no lines...im from there too..im n the U.S now....or she can go to cebu its also very fast no need of falling in line or go there early....its very fast to get NBI clearance in some provinces...like mine, i took it very quick...

I want to ask if i need to bring dollar bill on my flight to the U.S?...is it really necessary?..im just worried coz i dont have dollar here...my money is peso and its just enough for the airport fees and others...thanks

Hello,,i left my Philippines driver`s license at the CFO office this afternoon...coz i went there to have my visa stickered...i want ko know if international airport or the immigration will find an ID aside from passport?...coz I dont have any valid ID anymore aside from my passport and my NBI clearance...i am just so worried coz tonight is my flight already...anybody there could share their experience here at the Philippine international airport and immigration?..and also when i get to the POE do they need another ID too?...PLEASE HELP...THANKS>>>

Hello! ! Just want to know or ask if its ok to go Interview without eligibility letter from USEM? I will be having interview on thursday but i didn't receive yet from USEM.. I just have is the appointment confirmation letter I got when i got scheduled online.. and of course other documents needed for the interview..Is this ok? just curious to know about this.. please.. any input would be much appreciated.Thank you very much.

Absolutely yes, its okay if you dont have your eligibility letter during your interview...they dont look for it, anyway..you just need the bpi receipt, appointment letter and the 3 DS`s forms...ds156, ds156k,ds157..and of course you passport. thats all you need upon entering the USembassy.

It doesn't appear you actually have any domestic connecting flights unless you are continuing from Chicago. Follow the Air China 23kg rules. Continental will honor those. Continental is part of United now and United honors the Air China allowances, even on domestic connecting flights.

Thank you for the link...i spoke with air china agent yesterday and i told them about this, i actually read this link already..i called them coz i want to confirm..i asked them if i am allowed to bring 2 luggages for 23kls each?..but the lady told me that NO they only allow me 1 luggage for 20kls only...the lady who answered cant speak clearly but i tried to understand her while talking..but then again since i am not convinced i called again and another chinese agent answered and i asked the same question and she told me that YES i can bring 2 luggages for 23kls each..so, now im confused which is which...since sunday here and i cant call their office here in the phils, so i decided to post here..if theres someone out there might share their experience using air china..i just need to finalize my luggage before monday coz il be flying for manila already...my flight plan is from phils to beijing using air china and my connecting flight is continental airlines going to chicago...im just confused what to follow..the airchina luggage policy or the continental?...sorry lots of questions, i just wanna make sure coz this is my first international flight...thank you so much for your time sir.

Hi i would like ask if who else here have tried AIR CHINA connecting flight to U.S..I`d like to know if how many kilos do they allow for each passenger having a connecting flight. and when you get to NAIA terminal..do we still have to pay for the travel tax and terminal fee?..how much is that?..coz i thought that the travel tax is already included when we purchase our ticket..hope someone here could share their experience...thank you.

its true that kids 13 yo below will undergo tuberculin test and you will be back after 2 days for TST reading..and if it turns out positive, they will undergo xray and you will be back again for the result. as for us adults, we will undergo the usual physical exam..and the most conflicting part is the xray..if they found something suspicious on your xray, you will undergo on a 3 day sputum test which means you will go to st lukes 3 days in a row for collection of sputum. and after that there is also a culture test which means you will only get the results after 2 months..just like me, i have an interview on Aug 23, but it is now cancelled coz i have to undergo on a sputum test and culture test..if i were you, why dont you schedule your exam now so that if you will going do undergo on a sputum test, ou still have a lot of time before your interview..think about it.

they dont asked for the fiance`s SSN...not even during the interview...the medical thing has no right to ask for the ssn all they need is the eligibity letter from the embassy or from nvc and your passport..ssn is very confidential..and no one should be asking for that except from the one who is holding it...

does she had her vaccines a few days ago?...i have what exactly you are describing...its so itchy, the red spots are thicken...i have it for 3 days...and it subside just when i woke up this morning...i have it almost all over my body...i didnt take anything coz i believe that is just a normal reactions from the immunization...i just drink plenty of water...if she had her vaccines few days ago then that is just also a normal reaction from the MMR immunization...

I am going to hire a driver to take my fiance to her K1 interview in Manila in August. I want the driver to wait for her somewhere NEAR the US embassy, so that when she is done she can just hop in the car and return home to her place in Makati.

Does anyone know where the driver might be able to wait for her for several hours (maybe park at a hotel or something) so that she can find him easily after her interview is completed?

Of course she will not have a cell phone with her so she cant just call the driver after the interview is over.

the driver could park at the robinsons parking place...cellphones are totally allowed at st. lukes medical center...she could just text or call her driver...

No appointment needed for St. Luke's. Be there early, I mean really early, 5:30ish in the am.

you dont need to go at st. lukes early you could even go there after lunch and you will still get done the same day and come back the next day for the result...avoid going there early...its not safe...

Is the case uploaded electronically to Manila from the NVC? Once I have the Manila case number, then do I call the manila embassy every day to see if they received it? or is there a better way to track it? Because I have seen posts where people are tracking a package visa DHL from NVC to Manila.

as soon as you get your MNL number from NVC,,give it a week then can start calling manila embassy to follow up your case, thats the best way to track your case at the manila embassy...better talk to the agent...this is the number:

Regarding a K-1 visa... I have been seeing information that you may be able to interview before receiving packet 3 from the manila embassy. If you get your manila case number from the NVC via email and then you pay your BPI, you can schedule an appointment at the embassy. Do they allow you to goto the appointment without the eligibility letter? Is all of this true? Is there anything in packet 3 you have to have?

yes its true, you can have your interview sched without your eligibility letter, "dont wait for it, theres nothing in there, its just a notification" what is important is your MNL case number and if your case is already uploaded in thesystem of manila embassy..you can call them to follow up..then by that time you will know your status...just call them from time to time..the K1 packet is already online you can prepare all your documents ahead of time...check this out...this is the K1 packet:

About half of my fiancee's parent's house burned down and I want to send some money to help them. They don't have a bank account and I don't think they have proper IDs to open one. It's going to cost around $2000 to repair the house and replace what they lost.

What would be the best way to send the money? I don't really want to use Western Union. Would FedEx be safe enough? Any other suggestions?

sorry to hear that....my fiance used to send me money at the moneygram, could claim it to any moneygram branch,,,if you want to be safe she could get it at BDO bank...just let them present any ID`s and reference number...or other option,you could send it through bank to bank, a remitance, you`ll be given a code number and that code number should also be given to the one who will claim the money at bank and with ID again....

Reading the form letter for US Embassy manila. I see no mention of DS-230. Is this needed in Philippines? Anybody know?

ds-230 is not included on our K1 packet...you can check this out and start gather your documents...
