  1. Oi,

2-3 days should be fine, if she does her medical in another state. Just in case, make sure she has plenty of money, especially for the interview (if she gets approved, they'll mail the passport with the visa for her, so she needs to pay a fee), or for any possible delay.

If she decides to make the medical here in Rio, then I'd say, at least 1 week (if she doesn't have some of the exams that the doctor here requires, BEFORE the medical itself). For more info about it, you can PM me, I'm from Rio.

    Good luck!

Thank you very much for your help, I noticed you're just ahead of us in this whole process. I have read the posted cost of the medical and the visa, but I was wondering what you have found?

Also, what does the doctor there require? I don't think I understand.....

    Thanks

  2. Yes, six months should be correct. Check the visa once she gets it to be sure there is not an earlier expiration date on it. With the interview at the end of October, you would only be waiting a couple of months to go get her (it sounds like), so you would be fine. My fiance was approved in the beginning of September, but didn't come until the middle of November. Good luck with the interview!

Thanks, I have another question for you, What do we need for packet 4?????

  3. 1) NICE NAME

The visa is valid for 6 months if i am not mistaken. so she has 6 months from the time she gets the visa until it expires and she will no longer be able to enter the US on that visa. The support forms will be presented at the interview so start talking to more people who are interviewing in Brazil and they can give you insight on packets 3 and 4 for the interview.

    good luck with everything,

    Tye (also my name lol)

Thanks, I will troll for more info.....:-)

  4. Hi,

My fiancee's visa has been approved by the USCIS and the interview has been set in Rio for October 31, 2011. I am wondering about the timeline we have to get her here once the visa has been issued. I am currently in school and have very limited time to go to Brazil, and she wants me to go get her. I hope everything falls into place so I can get her on my winter break, but just in case...Is there a time limit as to how long we can wait before she comes? I know we will have 90 days to be married once she gets here, but that's the only time limit I see.

Also I have not been asked for the support forms, what do I need to do?

    Thanks for any insight,

    Tye

  5. I just sent our I-129F packet in May. I am a student and haven't had significant work for over 2 years, I do have an Aunt who has the funds, and is willing to be a sponsor, but I don't know how it works. Does anyone here have any ideas as to what happens in this case?
