  1. Hello Everyone,

We need your opinion on something. We did not know when our appointment was (long story problems with the mailing) so we went to the USCIS support center to ask and we did a walk in. We find out that our appointment for the biometrics was for the 16 of April. We walked in last week on the 22 of March and they did the biometrics that day.

Our concern is: Are they going to process the EAD and AP as of the day we walked in (22 March) or the day that our appointment was schedule for (16 of April)

Has anyone experienced this before? Help!!

Thanks for your replies in advance!

  2. Hi All,

Just a question in regards to the police clearence.

I just received NOA2 and since I have to request a police clearence from Israel(can take between 8-12 weeks! I live in Australia) I thought it will be good I start requesting for it....What do you think?

Also, The Israeli embassy says that they won't hand it to me but only to the authority requesting the PCC - did anyone had the same problem????

    Many thanks

You should do it right away. Like you said it could take months for you to have it and they will ask for it. What you can do is search in the internet if there is any company that does errands from people from other countries. I hire a company from Argentina , because I lived there for 3 years, and they help me with everything. You should find out what is the process to deal with it and start doing it right away. Dont forget that the embassy has the obligation to help you with that.

  3. It is hard to find a doctor that really knows about the process. What we did is we look for a Doctor that is not in a "clinic" type , try to walk in to a private one with his one office, they are more open to LISTEN to your case. I took a paper with the information from the USCIS website with the link. Print it out ( I am going to copy it here for you ). Show it to the receptionist and explain her that you are under a k1 visa. You are requiered to have the MMR , Td/Tdap and influenza. Take your medical examination with you and told them that you already did a medican examination back home. They charge me $90 for the fee BUT if you do not have all your vaccinations with seals and everything just get it done. I got the 3 of them because it was taking too long for them to find out if my certificates from back home were valid or not so I just ask them to put me the 3 vaccinations and finish the deal.

The Dr need to do this for you:

" Part 1, Information About You, Part 2, the vaccination chart, and Part 5, the Civil Surgeon's Certification, of Form I-693 (in an envelop sealed by the civil surgeon). Please see the instructions for Form I-693 for further information".

FIRST LINK FOR YOU TO PRINT and show it to them

    http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=fcf75b836ea73210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=3d7fa6c515083210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD

    Medical Examination

If you received a medical examination prior to admission as a K nonimmigrant, then you are not required to have another medical examination at time of adjustment as long as:

Your Form I-485 is filed within 1 year of your overseas medical examination

The medical examination did not reveal a Class A medical condition

If you did have a Class A medical condition, you received a waiver of inadmissibility and you have complied with the terms and conditions of the waiver

Even if a new medical examination is not required, you still must show proof that you have complied with the vaccination requirements. If the vaccination record (DS 3025) was not properly completed and included as part of the original, overseas medical examination report, you will have to have the vaccination report completed by a designated civil surgeon. In this case, you are required to submit Part 1, Information About You, Part 2, the vaccination chart, and Part 5, the Civil Surgeon's Certification, of Form I-693 (in an envelop sealed by the civil surgeon). Please see the instructions for Form I-693 for further information.

SECOND LINK This is a chart that might help you too

Today we went to USCIS (we schedule an infopass) they called me right after and said my biometric appointment is in 2 DAYS!!! and of course I wont make it on time because my letter wont be here on time. They said they could give a date for the 16 of April. I told them NO WAY I prefer to try to talk to them here send me the letter please.

This is in Tucson AZ - ¿Has anyone walk in there? ¿do I need to make an infopass? I dont think is in the same office of the infopass tho! So please if you can help me or if you know anyone that lives in Tucson and had a biometric here.

    thank you all!!

  7. I figure I should revise this good military topic. My question to those military spouse is:

Is there a way to expedite the USCIS process when you're not deployed? I don't think I fall under any of those compelling reasons to expedite, but I figure that there's a way to expedite this USCIS thing right?

Hello !! You can apply to expedite the USCIS process but it is VERY HARD to get it if its not a deployment. We tried already to expedite and they did not accept our petition so I wont think expedite is a posibility! But you can try! You have to call USCIS once you apply you have to give them your case number and they will give you a new case number of the expedite process.

    Hope this helps!

  8. Hello !! Its ok I totally understand you , we did the same thing. The information is kind of confusing if you read some websites. they dont explain good. I find the right information here. Hopefully this time we will have luck if you need information please contact me I will be glad to help you with the new application because we already call layers and stuff so we have all the info.

  10. Hello!! I read your post and I feel sad for you but at the same time I feel good because I did the same hahaha. SO!! my thoughts for you is to REFILE the k1 VISA AGAIN. You Do NOT have to wait until you get your petition. Because they will ACCEPT your petition but that does not mean they will APROVE your petition. Im just trying to help you because It happened to me already. We File the k1 we DID NOT send all the documents ,we send just ONE PAGE the form and nothing else! Imagine that!! Can you imagine thay they send us a CASE NUMBER And we thought Well! they accept it, AFTER 6!! SIX months of waiting guess WHAT?? PETITION DENIED!!We were so UPSET so SAD!! because then we find out what happened and that we did not send anything. So !! Dont wait until you get that petition denied, dont wait 6 months, just RE FILE again , check the list that they have here and send it again, print all the letters, proves, and everything. believe me its better. If you need any help feel free to contact me!

Oh! and about the 2 years relationship, you DO NOT need to have a 2 years relationship, you have to prove that you gust have seen Each other in the past 2 years.

Hahahaha a :bonk: i am calm now, ok i read the guide like 3 times already and i am not that scare anymore, sounds complicated but i think it just sounds but the process is not that hard. SO THE WORST THAT COULD HAPPEN is to filled in again, good that about the 2 years, hahahaha sounded a little silly , but well i need to ask just to make sure i am mot doing something wrong. Good thing that i am going to visit my fiance on June i think it will be better if we sit down and read the guide lines together and once we have all the forms we need for I-29F then we send it again.I guess we should wait until the office send back the petition , fill in the petition again.

Thanks to all for sharing and helping us!

    Blessing to you all

    Nick&Justin

  11. Your kidding right? Don't mean to be rude but do you want us to fill it in too/ You need to do a lot of reading my dear. Follow this.

    http://www.visajourn...content/k1guide :no::whistle:

you dont mean to be rude, but that is rude, I have done a lot of reading and is not because I dont want to read, I was just checking to be sure, if you dont want to answer you dont have to, This is a post and if someone answer and is gentle and kind great. I really dont understand why you have to answer that way. I think you dont get that We already apply and im just checking because we dont want to make a mistake again.

anyway I guess thats the way you are...

It definitely is a really confusing process. The best thing to do is look at this link and follow the guide.

    Guide

Also, there are examples of the forms that you can look at to make sure you fill things out right.

    Examples

    Good luck.

Thank you so much that is what I was looking for. I havent notice there was a guide here in visa.journey. Thank you a lot!!

    God bless you

    Pame

  12. Hello, I know there is a lot of information in the website and even here in the forum.

But we apply once and the petition and was denied 6 months later saying that we did not send all the documents. This time we don’t want to make any mistake so if someone can take the time to write one by one what exactly we have to send with the application I will be very grateful.

    Thank you so much!

    Pamela

  13. My fiancée is stationed in Germany and I had visited him 3 times with a tourist visa. You have 2 ways for applying for a tourist visa. One is when you are travelling somewhere for tourism and the other one when you visit someone.

My suggestion for you is that if you are not so sure if she will get the visa by herself wait until you get to Germany and send her a “official letter of invitation” this process is really quick and you can have that paper in one day.

Go to the legal department on base and ask for the “letter of invitation” they will give you a form and you will have to seal that letter in a city hall. You can ask in base the address of the city where you have to submit this form, it’s based on your location.

They will also tell you what documents you need but I will tell you just in case.

    Copy of your LES

    Passport original and Copy

Rental Contract or the legal paper showing your address and that she will be staying with you

Letter of Invitation (Verpflichtungserklärung in german)

They will give you the letter seal immediately and you will have to send to your fiancé. If she presents this letter it will be much better and safe for her to get the visa. German embassy treats people very nice and they are very polite always trying to help. At least that’s my experience.

When she applies be sure that she has her ticket reservation with the day of return, also they will ask for her bank accounts and its ok if she does not have any of it she can show some credit card bills and the certificate of her work. She has to show them that she is coming back.

    Fiancé Visa

If you really want to get married in Germany you can also proceed for a fiancé visa that is about the same but take more time depending on the embassy. If you go for that option remember the embassy that you are in US military that way they won’t ask her for taking a German basic language test.

    Getting Married in Germany

I will like to tell you also that getting married in germany is not so easy. We apply for a K1 visa our plans where getting married in US but we did not send the proper documents so now we are thinking of maybe getting married here and it looks like there is a lot of paperwork. We are going to the city hall on Friday to ask for he requirements let me know if you want them so I can send it to you. They also tell us that it was better to get married in DENMARK they say its the VEGAS of Europe.

  14. ....you dont understand anything but you are already scared? Huh? I would try to understand the article as best as I could, then express my emotions. It does not help when you don't understand the words...

What I was trying to say is that I don’t understand why the visas would be affected, now that I READ it I understand it and yes I’m scared for what could happen with our applications.

I’m sorry for expressing my emotions and how this affect you but last time I checked visa.journey.com was for support each other and express our “emotions” not for criticizing and being sarcastic with each other.

  15. I get it now too it not only affects us , it affects the entire country in different ways.

    Read this link.

There's no question it would inconvenience the public in ways large and small. Consider some of the impacts of the three-week shutdown in 1995-1996 -- all of which could be repeated this time around:

1.New patients were no longer accepted into clinical research at the National Institutes of Health. In addition, NIH disease hot lines and CDC disease surveillance were stopped.

2.Work on more than 3,500 bankruptcy cases in the federal court system was suspended.

3.Hundreds of thousands of "nonessential" federal workers were furloughed for three weeks, from mid-December 1995 to early January of 1996. (Some of those workers eventually received back pay for their missed days.)

4.Of $18 billion in Washington, D.C.-area federal contracts, $3.7 billion (more than 20%) were affected adversely by the funding lapse.

5.The National Park Service closed 368 sites, for a loss of 7 million visitors. The National Park Service administers 84.4 million acres of federal land in 49 states and other federal territories. Since 2008, park visits have totaled 285 million annually.

6.National museums and monuments closed, including the Smithsonian and other government buildings, with an estimated loss of about 2 million visitors.

7.More than 600 toxic waste dump sites went untended and uncleaned during the last shutdown. About 2,400 Superfund employees did not work.

8.The recruiting and testing of new law enforcement officials -- including 400 Border Patrol agents -- were suspended.

9.During the last shutdown, 20,000 to 30,000 applications for visas by foreigners went unprocessed each day, along with 200,000 applications for U.S. passports. Airlines also suffered, as many prospective travelers were unable to fly.

10.The Department of Veterans Affairs had to cut many of its services -- including health care, welfare, travel and finance -- as the department could not process compensation claims.

11.The shutdown meant a delay in processing alcohol, tobacco, firearms and explosives applications by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

12.The National Weather Service did not produce its regular reports.

13.New Social Security claims were not processed, because the agency furloughed more than 61,000 employees. As the shutdown continued, the agency regrouped, recalling workers to start processing new claims again.

It's clear that government shutdowns can be nasty business: They have required the cessation or the reduction of government activities and affected all sectors of the economy, according to a report by the Congressional Research Service.

Tuesday afternoon, House Speaker John Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid tried to reach a budget deal during a Capitol Hill meeting. The meeting lasted less than an hour, but the two men "agreed to continue working on a budget solution," spokesmen for the two said in separate statements.
