  1. Check cashed 7/29/2014, however still no NOA.

They keep sending mail to my old address even after speaking with them TWICE and confirming TWICE that we have moved. I sent a cover letter explaining the change of address, if it goes to the old one I will lose all faith! :P

They did this with me too... I filled out the change of address 2 years ago but they kept sending everything to my old address, which fortunately is my parents' house. My NOA for this is the first thing that came to the right address... so maybe yours will too

  2. We sent our AOS package in February, but have just recently found my husband's form ds3025 from is medical appointment from when he interviewed for his K-1 visa in Naples. Will I get an RFE since I didn't include it or the I-693? I mistakenly sent in a different vaccination record that I thought was the DS-3025...

Since I have realized my mistake, is there anyway that I can send it to them before they send me an RFE?

  3. Hi,

So I'm almost ready to send in the paperwork for my husband's adjustment of status... but I'm very confused about the I-693...

Some people have posted that they just sent in the DS 3025 and didn't need to fill out the I-693 at all... However, at POE they took the whole packet that he got at his medical exam in Naples, which contained his vaccination record the DS 3025... Is it okay to assume that they already have it on file and I don't need to send it? If not, then I don't really know what to do...

We have a list of my husband's vaccinations he has had since birth from his family doctor (not a civil surgeon), would this suffice? Or should we take the list to a civil surgeon here and have them fill out the I-693?

Any help/advice would be very much appreciated!

  4. Hi,

My husband and I are starting to get to work on the paperwork to adjust his status (he entered the US on a K-1 visa in december) and I had a few questions about the I-864. I am filing an I-864, but my father will also be filing one since he will be a joint sponsor.

Does my father need to file a I-864 or I-864A?

What do I put on Part 3 question 8? It says "I am sponsoring the Principal immigrant named in Part 2" and then I can check "Yes" or "No (applicable only in cases with two joint sponsors)"

Would I check No, since my father is a joint sponsor?

Also, Since my parents file taxes together, does my mother need to fill out the I-864A? Even if all of the household income comes from my father?

Ahh... The other forms have been so easy compared to this one...Any help you can give me will be much appreciated!

  5. So, next week I'm flying to Italy to spend Christmas with my fiance and his family, then we will both be flying here to the USA at the end of December and he will be using his K1 visa. Which line should my fiance go to after we land? The line for people from the US? Or the line for foreigners? I thought I remembered reading somewhere that if we are flying together, he can come through the same line as me, but I'm might be remembering incorrectly...

    Anyone know the answer?

    Thanks

  6. My fiance just had his interview earlier this month. My father was our co sponsor. With the I-134 from him we sent a letter from his employer which also stated his salary, 2 recent paystubs, last year's tax returns, and a page from a financial account that stated his investments. We had no troubles with this at the consulate.

    Good luck!

  7. Hello,

My fiance came to visit from italy while we were waiting for our NOA2 also. I was really nervous about it. He took his copy of the I-129f package that we sent as proof that we were going about things the legal way, but he didn't bring any other proof than that, because unfortunately he was not working and he doesn't own a house or lease an apartment right now... So, I was very nervous while I was waiting at the airport to pick him up....

All of my nervousness was for nothing. He made it through customs without any problems and he was here for 88 days...

He said the officers were nice, didn't even ask to see any proof that he was returning except to check that he had a return flight. He flew into Logan international airport in boston, which we have never had any problems with.

Italy is a visa waiver country, so you don't need as visa, as you probably already know.

If you want to plan a trip, I say go for it, but just know that its not a complete guarantee.

  8. My fiance faxed everything, we figured it would be the quickest. You are also only faxing the DS230 part 1 and the applicant statement, the rest you save for the interview.

As for the interview date: The consulate will send you another email a few days after you send the fax (it took a week for us) that tells you when you can call to make an appointment for the interview. My fiance called on september 11, and could have gotten an interview as soon as September 27... However, he chose one in october (next week!) to give us a little more time because we didn't quite have everything ready. You will probably have a few options for the interview date. Good luck!

  9. This might be a silly question, but just to be sure...

My fiance has his interview in Naples next week and we are both getting a little nervous/excited/anxious for it. We have all the documents we need for the interview, but I was wondering how we should present them... Should the documents and forms be in a specific order? Should they be put in a binder or folder or something? Does any of this even matter? For those of you who have had your interview or are preparing for it, How did you arrange all of your papers for the interview?

    Thanks!

  10. Your list looks pretty good.

As long as you make enough money I don't think it is necessary to send your retirement info.

I-864 is used when you adjust status, so you don't need it yet.

I've read that other people have sent 2 recent pay stubs, so that is what I did

When the Consulate in naples receives your file, they will send you an email that has a file attached with all the forms that you need. They also attach directions for filling out the paperwork as well as all the documents your fiance needs to bring with him to the interview, and a list of vaccinations needed and a form for the doctor to fill out. Make sure you read the directions they provide very carefully because after you get packet three, you only send two forms back to the consulate (part 1 of the ds-230 and a signed statement which is provided at the end of the instructions), the rest you keep to bring to the interview along with all the supporting documents. Things are clear as long as you read closely. Also know that there are two different police certificates that your fiance needs to bring.

I don't know anything about the DS-160... After you fax the two forms (part 1 of ds-230 and the signed statement, you will get another email from the consulate saying that they received your fax and can make an interview appointment in 5 days.

    Good luck!

  11. So, my father is filling out a I-134 to cosponsor my fiance, however, on question 10 that asks if he has ever petitioned a visa for anyone else, we are unclear as to what to put. I have two older brothers that my parents adopted from foreign countries when they were babies. Since this was 30 years ago, my parents don't really remember what processes they had to go through and they used lawyers to do pretty much everything... So should we put my brothers' names down for question 10, or just leave them off? My parents don't really remember if they had to petition for a visa, and they don't really remember much of the process they went through at all.

  12. Now that you have received your NOA1 you wait for the NOA2. If you create a timeline here on Visajourney, they will give you an estimate of when you can expect to receive your NOA2, which can be helpful. During this waiting period you can start to gather up some proof of your relationship that can be taken to the visa interview later.

Unfortunately, I think the Vermont service center is the slowest one right now... however, it is moving a lot faster now than it was a number of months ago. My petition was processed in about 4 months

  13. 1. My fiance and I just received our NOA2 last week and before he leaves to return back to Italy I want to make sure he takes with him everything he will need for the visa interview. This is what I'm under the impression that he should bring... is it enough?

    copy of I-129f package

Updated letter of intent to marry

    Affidavit of support I-134

    NOA2

    Original Proof of relationship

    Recent proof of relationship

Then the other things that he will get on his own:

    Police certificates

    his birth certificate

    medical records

    passport photos

    Am I missing anything?

Do I need to give him my birth certificate?

    2. For the affidavit of support, I just recently finished my graduate degree this summer and do not have a job yet, so my father is our co-sponsor. So, we will provide an I-134 for both of us, however, since I virtually have no money right now Should I include a letter saying that I just graduated and am currently looking for a job so that they know I will be on my feet soon (and that this is also why I don't have a tax return)?

Also- what should my father provide? I already have a letter from his work stating that the is employed there and it shows his salary. And I have a copy of their most recent tax returns. Do I need anything else?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

  14. I am the USC and my fiance is here now visiting me from Italy. He has been here a couple of months and leaves in a few days. He had no problems at all entering the country, no one asked to see any proof either. He just said he was coming to visit me and was staying until mid august and they let him through. He did bring a copy of our NOA1 and a copy of our whole 129f package, but didn't have to show them. I was nervous about them turning him away, but we had no trouble. Just be honest when answering their questions and bring some proof that you will return back to your home country.
