  1. Your spouse, who is not working, must file an I-864, and checks "I am the petitioner." Your father in law co-sponsor ALSO files an I-864, and just checks a different box on the form itself ("I am the only joint sponsor" if that's correct).

    But in the earlier response Mr. YoAndDan said that joint sponsor have to file I-864a.

    Can anyone please conform it?

  2. Like any other I-864, Recent tax returns, or IRS Transcripts, copies of recent pay stubs, a letter from an employer indicating job type, full/PT, salary...

    Note a joint sponsor uses I-864, not I-864A, and a member of joint sponsor's household like a spouse can provide an I-864A to add income to the joint sponsor.

    I need some clear idea bout it. My spouse is not working so she have fill I-864 and my father in law is co sponsor so he have to file I864a.

    Can you please conform it?

    If I am wrong ,Please guide me toward the correct path.

    I came to US throught F1 VISA.

    Currently I am on my 17 month OPT extension.My OPT will get expire in july 7 2011 .I recently got merried to US citizen.

    I am planning to file my green card. I was filling I-765 for the work authorization and i was confused about the category.

    I which category do I have to file my I-765.

    And My spouse is not working So if my father in law and mother in law sponsor then what are the document do i need from them.
