  3. Hi guys, can you add my timeline too? My husband send the application on January 11, 2015 thru USPS priority to Dallas Texas lockbox.

January 22, got an email that they received our case and routed to National Benefits Center and to wait for the official receipt letter in the mail.

January 28- got my NOA1 letter from the mail. And until now still waiting for my Bio. Oh and January 19th is my priority/received date.

Thank you and Goodluck to us!

  4. Congrats, if you have not received your SSN a few weeks after POE then you should go to the SS office to apply for your card, even if you checked to receive the card on the DS-230.

Thank you dan_ling! That's what we gonna do, finally my husband agree that were going to the SS office to apply for my card instead of waiting for it to arrive in the mail forever lol, so tomorrow my father in law is gonna drive us to SS office. Wish me luck!!! (F)

  5. OMGG Congratulations

    Thank You!!! :)

Thank you! hope you will get your NOA2 soon. :)

Congrats! More than likely you're going to have to go your local social security office and apply for your ssn in person. My husband never received his in the mail, so we just recently applied in person. Others have had to do the same.

Thank you so much. We will apply tomorrow, hope it will be easy. :)

    Congratulations!!! :D

Thanks and goodluck on your POE :)

    Congrats !!

Thanks and Goodluck on your journey also :)

  6. hello, been in the US since May 2008, I worked full time but I still miss talking to our kababayans, would love to hear from all, please email me.

thanks and I look forward to meeting new friends (L)^_^

Hello ethel, I'm here in Jacksonville Florida. Been here for 3 weeks now and wla pa ako na meet ni kahit isang pilipina heheh. sana mag meet tayo noh. You can email me here vnice_jandog@yahoo.com

  7. On the Social Security website it says that you should go to your local office and apply if 3 weeks has passed since your POE and you have not received your SS card. It will be 3 weeks for my husband tomorrow. His POE was Nov 11th and he hasn't received anything, no welcome letter, no green card and no SS card.

Thanks mountaingoat! I'm not looking forward for my GC right now because the visa itself is good for a year, but I was hoping for my ssn to arrive soon so that I can start finding a job, I'm kinda bored overhere LOL. Hoping your hubby's GC to arrive soon though :D

  8. Since you have received your welcome letter the Greencard should be just days behind. My wife received hers the next week after the welcome letter. As for the SSN this is hit and miss even if you checked it on the DS230, if you haven't received it yet then more than likely you will need to go to the SS office to apply.

Thank you ling! Maybe it will arrive next week, I'm hoping also for my ssn to arrive soon so that we won't have to go their office, its a long drive from where we live :(

  9. Hello V'Jers!

I received 2 mails today from USCIS, one is the welcome notice and the other one is receipt notice, my questions is how many weeks/days will they send my GC? And up to now from the time I arrived here (POE is NOv. 16th) I didn't receive my SSN card yet, do we have to wait for more weeks to arrive in the mail or its okay to apply to a nearest SSA office? and yes I checked the box on ds 230 lol. Thanks for who will answer my queries. God bless us all (L)

  10. Hi friends i am not a writer by profession so it might be boring 15 min for you but i thought i should post my Interview experience as i have read someones and that help me lot in mine .. So it is like this....

I was schedule for Interview on 28 Nov at 7.30 am which was rescheduled for 8.00 am but i went there at 7 am as i thought would go there for 7.30 time (mine interview was scheduled at new embassy building at BKC, mumbai what a location and what a embassy building.)

at 7.15 asked to make a line outside embassy gate for 7.30 to 8 am appointment which then they divided to non-immigrant and immigrant then want to interview call letter at hand and make us go inside the embassy premises still in garden of embassy then they allowed us inside and make us stand in line in two windows one for immi and one for non-immi they the lady behind the window took the interview call letter and enter the information and create a token for us with token number u have to remember this token no. till u get out of embassy as when ever they want you they will flash it on screen the token no.

now we went to another hall there we are checked us its smooth process i hurried but the security guard told me to relax and dont worry that's very nice then i after security check went to main hall where we have sit and wait for our no. to flash on screen and here they asked immi to go to another hall and non-immi to another hall that very nice. at least some less crowed in our hall. my no. flash on screen with window no. the lady who is local lady ask me some questions like who is my petitioner, date of marriage who are my sponsors as my AOS was submitted one year back she asked me do you have the latest i.e. 2010 W-2 (tax return) of my AOS i have read here in some forum that they want latest W-2 so i already had from my wife and his brother who is co-sponsor so i gave her that document then as i have filed my DS-230 form one year back she asked me that my Passport Police Clearance certificate is expiring on 7 december and my case could be put on hold in case visa officer want to new one to be sure that there is no case pending on me i told her i have latest PCC from local police station she told be that they dont give that much importance to that and they would required PCC from passport office and decision is on visa officer that she ( my visa officer was lady) consider it.

so my almost 3 years wait and finally to get visa on hold because of this is frustrating and shocked that they will put hold my passport but now there is no option left. This was over by 8.30 again i have to wait and was put in two mind that after three year should i get it or not. my wedding is genuine and i have never committed any crime still had to wait to meet my sweet heart. sorry i forget at this stage they took my four finger impression and my thump impression. again was asked to wait they will call me back.

time passes and i am praying that visa officer take decision on my favour there was one aunty a friendly aunty we communicate with each other and that help me to relaxed and divert my mind from negative thoughts i strongly suggest to be friendly with you near by so that will relaxed you and will help you in interview.

at first they called some people again so we did not know what is happening but then we know that its interview that they are conducting in two windows from many and this again make us nervous as we can hear the type of question they are asking and in detail they are inquiring and queries they are arising and doughts. they are taking around 20 to 25 min per immi. so this is nerve breaking then they started the third window and fourth windows so i was near to my interview screen flash 219 mine was 220 i was expecting my no. to flash on favourable window i observe is very nice but to my surprise no. flash for that window was 221 they jump mine no. and start feeling that my nightmare that my visa will be put on hold are going to come true the screen flash some other category no. and i am sure that i am not going to get my visa but then it flash mine one and to window i would given chance would avoid she just tore me apart with fast firy questions like what is the reason for marrying so late we married at 36 i gave the reason that i did not find suitable partner to get married then question about petioner work and Co-AOS where they live have own house or rented when my petioner go to america how she got the greencard who filed for them how her peitioner gone there which year my wife went there the in between keep me asking had i earlier filed for american visa, or any other country visa or last chance she took by asking me have i visited africa (still thinking why africa) she is not marry that our marriage was genuine as we have married late at 36 at this time i already lost my hope of getting approval she show my marriage album also her expression never give me impression that i got my visa and with strange impression (at that time i thought she is going to return my visa ) she told me your visa is approved and you will get your passport in few days by courier what ever her attitude is i thank her my long wait to meet my sweet heart is over this type of inquiry is part her job which i thought she did perfectly and i stood on my ground on truth she took my finger print of right hand again gave me the part of DS-230 form again to sign i asked should i sign with black or blue i got strong reply what ever colour you want to use. ( i read some where it should be sign with black pen) i forgot to write first i have to take oath with my right hand rise that i will speak the truth and i did speak the truth and got the positive result. it is boring but hope this will help you. now i am waiting for courier to receive my passport.

    all the best.........

Wow that's a long read but Congratulation you deserved it! Goodluck on your POE!

  11. Hello! I've been here for almost 5 months now and still adjusting. It'll take roughly a year or two to settle in based on what I heard from others - bet its true. But you'll be fine, dont worry.

Hi, wow 5 months and ur still adjusting? Goodluck for me heheh, well in June me and my husband are gonna work in Alaska, so I dunno what to expect than I know its very cold there lol.

***** Moving from CR-1 to Moving to America forum as not about the CR-1 process *****

Not to scare you, but it took me most of two years to really settle in. What helps is to make your own friends- join a sports club or a book club, look on meetup.com for groups that you like, volunteer for a charity etc.

WOw 2 years??? gosh well thanks for all the ideas :)

I'm in J'ville!!! There are also a lot of Philipinos here

Oh really? Were in Salthbush Court in San pablo. :)

  13. Hello everyone! I made this thread coz I wanna know if anyone's out there who has/had co-sponsor(s) during their IR1/CR1 visa journey! I really need your insight about my case. Please do help me :help:

For starters I'll be having my USEM interview on Dec 9th @ 8:30am.

Hubby sent me a scanned copy of our co-sponsors ITRs & W2s (2010) in an email(coz we didn't include in our AOS packet the last three recent years since it was optional; only year 2010 was submitted). What do I need to present in the USEM interview? Both of my hubby's and co-sponsor's ITRs & W2s? Can I just have them printed out (co-sponsor's documents, hubby's gonna sent me his original papers thru LBC)? Or I must bring with me the original ones (I doubt it though that our co-sponsor would hand us/me his original documents)?

    Hi sis,

Scan copy is fine, The consul did not ask it, what he wants to see is our wedding picture, that's all. You will do fine. Goodluck!

  14. Another approval to add to the list! My wife had her interview on Tuesday, Nov 8th, and they didn't tell her whether she was approved or not. But yesterday, Nov 9th, we got a DHL notification, and today the package arrived in her hometown—and inside was the visa! :D

All's left is her POE, and she'll be a legal permanent resident.

It's been a long way, but we're here.

    Wow congratulations!!!

  15. Yes it is a wonderful feeling with lots of prayers gone into it. But thank God he never fails. My husband and kids had a pleasant experience and answered the questions well. My husband answered 5-6 questions, and my son answered 4 questions and got one wrong- he was a month or 2 off his answer. They didnt ask my other son any questions. The IO was impressed from the start with our wedding album and story.

What a wonderful way to start our Thanksgiving!!! I can't stop bigging up my Lord and Savior, for his faithfulness.

    APPROVED!

    Congratulations!!!

  16. Sorry I'm late!! Of course, WE ARE APPROVED!!!!!! good.gif

The interview was easy as pie and he was only at the consulate for 2 hours total. He paid extra at VFS to be bussed to the interview and was VERY glad that he did. I am going to write my review right now from what he told me, but wanted to let you know for Kinnari that the consulate is SUPER crowded even for typical India so be prepared. Prem said that he got a seat, but that someone was always standing right in his face because there were so many people in there. Overall, the process was very straightforward and easy. He was also able to pick up his passport and visa that evening at 5:30 PM. We are going to buy his ticket tonight so I get to see my baby in 4-5 days!!! :)

Only one more week to go for you guys. I can't wait for you to be done as well. Good luck and keep us posted.

Congrats!!! I got approved also on my interview 2 days ago (Nov.3), now I'm just waiitng for my visa to be delivered, hopefully soon. :D
