  1. congrats

and especially if you're working for the government you're Extremely lazy lol

so does anybody know when are we able to apply for citizenship?

my friend says since this is gonna be temporay green card i will have to apply for the permanent card on 2013 then 3 years from that day 2016 is when I am able to apply for citizenship, is that so?

thats a very big lie. you can apply for your citizenship 90day before 07/27/2014 and ur removal of condition from ur GC should be 90days before 07/27/2013. thats what my IO told me during my interview and thats true. you can google it as well

  2. On 7th of July, I got an email from USCIS that the EAD card has been approved and dispatched to the address mentioned in the records. On the 9th of July, I received the copy of the I797 approval notice but NOT the EAD card

On the 20th of July, I got another email from USCIS that the EAD card has been returned to the Vermont Service Center as undelivered. I inquired at the post office and they said that they have not returned any envelope to USCIS

They asked me to update the address and I did the same.

It has been 2 weeks since then but there hasn't been any status update.

The helpdesk tells me to wait for minimum 30 days before any status update on the Service Request.

My employer wants me to join ASAP and I am afraid that I might lose my offer.

Has anyone been through similar problem? Please let me know if I can do anything to expedite this.

    Thanks,

    Rahul

i had similar issue when uscis mailed me my biometric appointment. pls check ur mail box and make sure ur name is stick inside the mail box if not usps will not deliver any certify mail that does not have the name in the designated mail box. so ensure that ur name is in the mail box. if not write it in a ###### of paper and stick it in with a tap. hope this will help

  3. Wow, I can finally post an update!!

We got the biometrics appointment letter on Saturday but, strangely enough, no NOA yet. I had a successful walk in yesterday (I'm not working so I figured why not try). They were pretty slow, I thought I would have to plead my case with the guard but it went more like this:

Me: Hello, I was wondering if..

Guard: Take this clipboard and fill it out over there

    Me: Oh, ok!

Easy as pie and I was out in 20 minutes.

happy for you. that your lawyer really need to pay for the pains he caused you. i wish you the best.

  4. I haven't been too active on here but our interview is on the 2nd. I thought I wasn't going to be freaking out or nervous. But as I started putting together our supporting documents today I got so nervous. And I'm getting upset at my husband because his birth certificate was missing and he can't get letters from his employer to verify his employment and hours because it is too late. We have his paystubs and tax returns though.

We, or rather *I* am hoping we get an immediate approval because I want to start planning our family trip to Asia. Please please pease let us get approved.

Guess this is pretty much a vent/prayer rather than an update post. Hope that's okay.

its good for you to find your husband birth cert. the IO might asked for it. as for the letter from employer i think his pay stubs is a prove that his company but to be on a save side tell him how important it is and that you really need it for your interview. i think he can still pick it up from his employer before 2nd august. i wish you a success

Ugh sorry for te repeating post. Some error popped up and when I resubmitted it did a double post.

  5. Just finish my interview. I reached there about a hour earlier than my appointment with was at 7:15am. I checked in and the guy told me to go to the second floor. We were there for about 15mins and then an asia like lady came out and called our number. We followed her to her office and she sworn us in. While there she ask us our names, address, our date of birth, she bascially ask us everything ojn the forms. She ask about my daughter, ask about mu husband job, if i'm work, why did i decide to stay back, who was support me, how/ why did i came here, how long was i planning to stay. She ask everything. Then when we were almost finish, she ask if we had any question for her, and mu husband ask her what is the next step? She then said that she is going to review our paperwork again and then she will give us a call and if we don't hear from her we should recieve something in the mail, but then she says that everything look ok. Well that's my interview let's see what happen next.

have you received any update yet?

  6. I am a US citizen and filed with my wife for AOS; forms I-130 and I-485 concurrently (along with G-325A's, I 864 and all relevant supporting documents). The documents were sent to the Chicago Lockbox in one packet and were delivered on July 14, 2011. However, we received our entire packet back in the mail on July 20th along with the original checks. The only reason given for the rejection of the forms was on a I-797C Notice of Action attached to the I-130. It read, "the signature is not contained in the signature block of the application...the "Signature of person preparing form, if other than above" block is not a valid signature for this purpose." However, I signed my I-130 in blue ink in block E "Signature of Petitioner", which should be the proper spot for my signature. In addition, the I-797C also read, "your I-130 is being returned to you because the eligibility you filed under requires that you file a I-485 also." However, I included my wife's I-485 in the original packet with the relevant supporting documents. We feel like we did all the necessary research on the process and filed our documents properly, with a table of contents for the entire packet and each individual form, along with all relevant supporting documentation. So, we are perplexed by the reasons given for initial rejection. Has anyone else experienced something similar? Thanks in advance for any advice you might have.

i would advice you get a lawyer for proper direction

  7. MoveAndy here I am letting you know :)

I just got and email and text. `On July 29, 2011, we ordered production of your new card`

it took them two days to approve. man overall process was so easy.

me and my wife still think we didn't have an interview, what was that... so easy....

congratulation to u. im very happy for our success and i most commend you for creating this forum for march filers. thanks a lot.

  9. here is my interview experience. my interview time 12.45pm and we left the house by 10.47am immediately my phone GPS stop working. we were mad cos we don't even know how to get to the uscis building without a navigator. upon attempting to retry my phone that has a full battery went off. man, i was very mad and sweating profusely. the next thing was my wife realizing that i don't even have my wedding ring on. it was unlike me. "jesus" i do wear my ring every min. to cut story short my wife called our lawyer and gave her the direction to the USCIS building. we got their by 11.20. when we went to check in the lady told us that we can only do that 30mins ahead. at exactly 30mins to my interview i checked in and was directed to go to the 3rd floor. we were seated and a man who was about 70years plus called us in. he sworn us in and we sat down. he asked for both of our id's and we handed it over to him. men he went through all my documents one after the other. he spent over 30mins on my documents. he was very polite and professional, he asked me where my wife was born i answered and he asked my wife about our religion believes and she answered. he asked my why my parent disapproved our marriage and i answered him. he also asked me about my ex-wife and i waited for just a short time and re-married. i explained to him and that was a very painful question because my ex died a day after i got my my visa. in all he told me that ur application has been approved. i was in and out for like 1hr 30mins. less i forget he asked me all the yes and no questions. he asked me if i wanted an approval letter and my wife answered yes. this was my experience. we did gave him the additional documents we had. and he handed the approval letter to us. and he pin pointed that u should get ur conditional green card within 30day.

  11. nne m ndo. the same thing happen to me. uscis sent me a notice of action for my biometrics but usps returned it as undeliverable. so when i checked my update it say's we mailed you a NOA but USPS return it as undeliverable. so when i went to the post office they advised me to stick my name in my mail box if not i might not be receiving all my mails especially those with return odder. thank God i rectified it and i now receives all my mails. just ensure to write and stick your dad's name inside the mail box that will help. ngozi diri gi nwannem. aha dara ka aha ndi igbo

  12. does anyone here know how long USCIS update their system so SSA can verify your new name?

    Because here's the thing:

I applied for AOS under my maiden name, now when I've had my interview last June 15th, I asked

the IO to change my name under my married name, and he did. Got my Welcome Notice and Green Card in the mail

    both under my married name.

I went to SSA Office to lift the restriction on my ss card, and update my name as well. But what they have

is the one on my EAD card..which was under my maiden name. Is it because I went too early? She made copies of

my GC and certified marriage cert. and she told me that she will try to look for update every 3-4 days, and

will send me a letter once it is verified. because she thought it was too early for me to go and update (which i

    thought so too.)

I am going for my driving test on tuesday, the 29th.. and she told me that i should just go under my maiden

name first, then once ssa verified my new name, i can just go to dmv and change it there..

my question is...how long should i wait? like how long does uscis update their system (if my letter and gc are

under my married name..doesn't it mean that it's already updated in their system?) or it's ssa's immigration verification

    system is the one late?

when i applied for SSN it actually took me about 2week to open an account. the initial week i went they told me that my SSN was saying invalid. even when my wife try to add me to our utility bills they told us that the system was not accepting my SSN. It actually took about 2weeks for my SSN to be verifiable in the system. so just give it couple of days it will come up to the system. congratulations on ur GC

  13. LOL you both have the same date and place?! GOOD LUCK TO BOTH OF YOU!!! you can do it!

    On other note:

I just got my GC to day! wooohoooo!! although the IO said i should receive it like 2-3 months because I changed my last name xD it took like a week and a day LOL i'm so happy!!!! <3 i just want that driver's license on the 29th and my life is complete! ready to go live a normal life...driving, working, taking care of hubby! :D

my date is 26th not 27th.
