Is it normal for the embassy to hold the passport when they issue a 221g (white form) requesting documents? (Tax Return in specific)

Sabi po it's a good sign pag in hold ng USEM ang passport, same samin po. we were under 221g (me and my dad) had our interview last dec. 28, almost a month din po kaming under AP. Pero naissue din po visa namin nung Jan 30. Wag po kayo mag alala, God is with you

Hi, I just want to share our experience Me and my dad were petitioned separately by my mom. (Ir1/Ir2) we had our interview last December 28,2011. The Consul didn't tell us if our visas were denied or approved. But he said that our documents are all good and he just needs some additional documents, After the interview, they gave us a white 221g form for CENOMAR re-verification. They kept our passports with them. On the same day, we went to NSO pasay and requested the needed documents. We were told that the USEM will be the one to pick up the documents. We called and sent email to USEM once a week to follow-up our case. January 12,2012 they received the lacking documents. Just Yesterday, We received an email saying that our visa were issued January 30, 2012. Today, 2go called us saying that our visa is ready for pick-up Almost over a month of waiting, but it's really worth the wait. Ang sabi po, basta natanggap na ng CO ang documents na hinihingi nya, madali nalang yun, basta keep the faith po. God is with us in this journey. I'll include you in my prayer. visas in hand=) yey!...i was told to pick up our visas @ USEM and it was all smooth =) The employees were so friendly...Thanks GOD! Seminar n CFO sticker all done as well...

Congrats ate Ana! Ask ko lang po, kung maissue na po visa namin pwede din po pick up nalang namin sa USEM? sasabihin lang po saknila na pick up nalang? Saan po kayo ng PDOS ate ana? ask ko din po yung Counseling, kailangan po ba ni dad ko yun?

Hi, I am also under 221g for CENOMAR-reverification, me and my dad actually, IR2 din category ko. I was interviewed last December 28. January 12, they received my CENOMAR, until now my case is under review. Reviewing takes 2-3 weeks

Hi ate anna, tumawag kami sa USEM earlier, sabi under review pa din po kami. Nung Jan 12 po nareceive CENOMAR namin. bale mag 2 weeks na ngayon under review pa din. 5th week na po namin ngayon since interview... Tatawag po kami ulit next week... sana talaga good news na next week

Hello po Ate Anna, Tumawag po kami kanina. Under review na daw po yung samin ng dad ko. 2-3 weeks daw po. So, try po namin tumawag ulit next week. Sana po wala ng problema at ng maissue na visa namin soon

Hello My dad is also under IR1 category. We had our interview last dec.28, he is also under AP, for CENOMAR re-verification. Someone told me that it's a good sign if they kept the passport with them and 221gs are usually approved visas as soon as you send them the documents that they're asking for. You'll be in my prayers! Hope you'll get your husband's visa soon...

It sounds like there is not real issue, they just want new copies of the CENOMARs, once then have them, unless there are new discoveries, I would bet your visa will be soon.
