  1. Because I'm trying to finish up the I-129F quickly (within the next two weeks, and so far so good about collecting documents and preparing translations with an official company), I would like to have a lawyer or some firm assist to make sure we have everything we need and everything is in order. Can anyone recommend some law firms or otherwise online immigration visa help sites that were very good in helping you prepare for the Visa process?

Some of our new friends from this site mentioned they had good luck with www.amerilawgroup.com. Is there any other good immigration lawyer firms that any of you would recommend that are specifically familiar with the Vermont Service Center?

    Thank you kindly

  2. I've read a lot about different people contacting their Congressman/Congresswoman. However, I'm not exactly sure what level I'm supposed to contact. Do I contact the ones at the state level (since we all have representatives who serve in our state legislature) or do I go up to the national level? Do I do both?

Who has had success doing this? At what level? Any representative from Massachusetts that has been helpful?

    Thank you kindly

  3. I have never heard of the letter you mentioned - I don't think that is true at all. (Everyone submite a letter of intent - no difference whether a pregnancy is involved).

No, getting your fiancee pregnant will not speed up the process.

I definitely did not get her pregnant to speed up the process. It was unintentional. Perhaps though I should leave it out for now and send such a letter to the interview when she goes. The goverment might think that I got her pregnant to try to speed up the process. *sigh*

  4. We just found out yesterday that my Ukrainian fiancee is pregnant. (BTW, we are very happy about this :-D)

However, we haven't submitted the I-129F yet, we are collecting paperwork as fast as we can.

I have read that I'm supposed to submit a letter indicating that I know she is pregnant and that I still want to marry her. Do I submit this with the I-129F form or does it go with her to the embassy during her interview?

ONE OTHER QUESTION: Is being pregnant grounds to speed up the process?? I really want the baby born in the USA and not in Ukraine, specifically because it will slow down the process more with more paperwork and because I want to be with her when she gives birth and the father being with the mother is STRICTLY not allowed in Ukraine. (#######!)

    Thank you for any help

  5. A complicated issue.....

My Ukrainian fiancee is pregnant with my child (just found out yesterday). We'd like her to come and stay with me for 3 weeks a month during the summer so we can enjoy some time together while waiting for the K-1 to process, however, reading in the Travel B-2 web site on the government site I'm seeing that to travel here, she needs all of the required USA vaccines. Is there any way to bring her here if she hasn't had the vaccines? She can't have them being pregnant since some will cause the child to abort or otherwise be terribly damaged.

For those who have dealt with the Ukrainian US Embassy, how terrible is it there? I haven't heard a single good thing yet about them.

She has two jobs there, a mortgage, and family, so I think we can fulfill everything else except for the vaccine requirement.

    Thank you kindly

  6. It is common in Ukraine that everything is notarized. I guess no one believe each other without it. So my question is -- I need to get some documents from my Fiancee to get the K-1 visa I-129F submitted, such as her divorce certificate, etc. Should they be just translated or translated AND notarized? I don't see anything in the instructions from the USA web site with regards to getting anything notarized.

    I appreciate any help!!

    Thanks

  7. I don't know who to ask for advice, but I want to know that this is ok. In Ukraine, women don't have a lot of rights, so the woman I am applying for a K-1 Visa for WAS married to her cousin. (they lived 6 hours apart, they never saw each other in 2 years, etc) She just got her divorce from him and now I want to apply almost immediately for the K-1. Is this OK or is there typically a waiting period between when the divorce was finalized to when I should apply for my K-1 for my Fiancee.

Everything else is good. We literally talk all day every day for over a year now through Skype, I've gone there to see her twice, we've been engaged for 4 months, I've met her parents and her friends, etc.

    Any advice would be appreciated!!

    David
