Does the date have to be their 16th birthday? I'm guessing you can put the date they moved in? I think my husband put 01/1991 - 01/2010 and then 01/2010 to present.
That's how we did it as well. Should be right!
-
We had to send ours 3 times before it was accepted. I would send it again if I were you. It only took 2 days for them to accept it once they decided to lol
Yay, it has just been accepted! I think 'once they decided to' is key there, lol. Our first few emailed attempts must have ended up in NVC Oblivion with yours! Thanks

The NVC STILL has no record of our DS-3032 email... been sending it since Aug 2nd! We'll hear something soon I hope... anyone else having this issue?

Hi everyone. Great site! I've read lots of useful guides and topics.
My question at the moment is about me travelling from UK to USA for a short visit while our application is pending. Basic details:
Me - In UK
Wife - in USA
Met 2 years ago and had several trips to each others home country since.
Married a few weeks ago in UK 19 Feb 2011.
Priority is to be in the US together as soon as possible so our plan is to get a K3 visa (but also peition for IR1) then AOS when I'm in the US.
I-130 being sent now.
I have read anything from horror stories about people getting rejected by customs to those who travel frequently into the US with no problem. So... should I be concerned about travelling for one or two short breaks with my wife in the US while the visa application is in process? (I'd prepare as per common advice having documentation, etc with me when travelling - I have evidence of ties to home/work, plus any other stuff proving our relationship).
Just thought I'd complete this thread- I started it to ask if I was likely to have a problem as detailed above.
I renewed my ESTA and travelled to the US for a vacation in July 2011. They asked me the usual question "what is the purpose of your visit". I told them I'm here for a short vacation with my wife. "Is she at college here or something" they asked. "No, she's American and lives here. I intend to move here at the end of the year, we have a visa application in process at the moment".
*they stamp my passport* and simply say "welcome back".
Easy

We seem to be stuck on the NVC accepting our DS-3032 email. Sent it first thing 9 days ago on August 2nd and no word yet... re-sent it yesterday just in case, since NVC operator said they had no record of it having been received. Anyone else have / having similar issues or delay with the DS-3032 acceptance?
The I-864 bill was received and updated to paid fairly quickly though, so there is that
-
Thanks for the update- our timelines are similar, this gives me hope of getting our AOS bill today or tomorrow. It also means I'll probably be checking it obsessively until then
-
OK so...
AOS bill generated finally.
Two emails this morning, sent to both Petitioner and Beneficiary, both exactly the same.
1. Subject: (ACL UNIVERSAL)
Dear Principal Applicant:
The immigrant visa petition recently filed on your behalf is now eligible for further processing at the National Visa Center (NVC). You will need the following identification numbers to carry out the next steps in the immigration process.
The first stage of visa processing is to establish communication with the NVC by registering an agent and your agent's contact information with the NVC.
DS-3032 form was attached to this.
2. Subject: (PAOSF I-130 UNIVERSAL)
Before your petition can be processed you must pay the Affidavit of Support (AOS) processing fee ($88.00 USD). etc etc
DS-3032 form also attached.
Ok... so my question is that should I email the DS-3032 again, as you can see by my signature I have emailed it twice already.
AOS bill paid and status changed to In Process.
Paid via firefox was unable to pay via safari for those mac users.
I also just received NVC's email requesting the DS-3032, which we had emailed last week as well. I spoke to NVC operator this morning and asked if it needed to be sent again- she said if I sent it Aug 2, then I don't need to send it again as they'll "still be getting around to that email". I'll wait a few more days.. and see what happens!

SO VERY FRUSTRATED
Still no case number at NVC. I thought this was supposed to be the quick part once you're over the hump of waiting on I-130 approval.
I feel like crying right now.
The NVC is taking a while to get the cases entered into their system lately. Keep your head up- hopefully you don't have much longer to wait!
It was 34 days for us to get our case # on Aug 1st. No contact from NVC beyond that, and no AOS bill yet. We did send the DS-3032 email back on Aug 1st, but otherwise, we're back to waiting. At least there is some feeling of movement once the case # is assigned, this seems much easier than the waiting for it to arrive at NVC.

Ok. I am starting to get ticked off. Several people that got their NOA2 after me have gotten their case numbers last week and this week. I am not mad at those individuals, I am actually happy for them but I am ticked at the damn system.
What happened to the process of order? lol
I better get my case number this week sometime or your gonna hear about a earthquake in Central Ohio...
I hope you get it VERY SOON! The process of order does seem to fail at NVC... highly frustrating when we are waiting every day for updates. Good luck to you!!
-
Just called and got the case number from the operator and gave the email addresses! AVR is not updated. I attempted to get the IIN as well, but the operator replied "Your case isn't even QC'd yet!"... whatever that means! Will call back tomorrow and try for the IIN, and will email DS-3032 in the meantime.

I renewed my Visa Waiver on the ESTA website yesterday
I-130 sent the day before.
The journey begins....!
-
Thanks for all the advice.
I've thought of a new issue - my Visa Waiver/ESTA expires in October 2011. So it'd be valid for a visit to USA planned for July 2011, but happens when it expires. By then I'll be halfway through the Visa process, so I fear I'd not get my Visa Waiver renewed. Does anyone know what the situation is with that?

If we go direct to applying for CR1, how would that affect me wanting to visit my wife in the US during the time the application is being processed?
-
She has no status in the UK. She is American and always lived in America.
She has visited UK many times, both before and since meeting me. We got married here last month- she has now returned to US. I remain in UK.
-
Erm....what do you mean K3 is dead?
I've read a bit more in the K3 forum - seems it's dead and we should just apply for CR-1 straight away?

Glad this came up. I was about to post the same question.
I haven't searched around yet myself, but someone else suggested the Travelodge London Southwark http://www.travelodge.co.uk/hotels/info?hotelId=342
Fairly central and close to a tube station
