  1. Hi VJ Members <3

Here I am again, asking for your help and advices regarding with this issue.

I am planning to petition my mom here in the US. So we are getting ready with all the docs needed.

My mom got her late birth registration. But the thing is, they misspelled my mom's first name. :(

The spelling is totally different from my birth certificate. :star:

So my Q is, what could we possibly do? Does anyone have this case too?

Your comments and advices are highly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    To God be the Glory!

if it is just only a misspelled and it is still sounds like the same with the name she used to... ex: jane to jean or anne to ann then you can go to nearest LCR. you dont have to go court to correct that. your mom can go to LCR where she lives now or much easier if she goes to LCR where her BC is registered...she can correct it with Republic act 9048, LCR will advice her what to do...mine it takes 2 and 1/2 months for correction.

  2. hi,

my NSO BC is not very clear, u can read some details but it's not very clear. . .

I have an interview on July 12. will I have any problems? what should I do?

    Someone help me pls. someone . . . anyone . . .

go to LCR where your birth registered and ask for a certification and a certified true copy of your birth certificate...use those documents as a supporting documents of your NSO BC...hope this helps...GOOD luck...

  3. need help, pls advice…our documents not yet complete until now and we recieved a letter from NVC late last yr…we have not send our DS-230 yet coz some civil documents not on hand yet…want to know what if a year pass and we still did not complete our civil documents, i mean still lacking are they , the NVC, going to terminate our case even if we have paid already our IV fee? we are planning to send our DS-230 next month but still lacking one civil document..just in case we cannot send the lacking civil doc after one yr from last letter from NVC, hopefully NVC will not terminate our F4 case…pls enlighten me.

  4. I'm about to get my passport. My mother's first name was misspelled in my birth cert. Will this be an issue?

    Thanks! =)

mother's first name will not reflect on your passport, just go and try...the earlier you find out if its ok or not the better. as long as your first name, family name, middle name, birthdate and birthplace is correct i think there's no probs...

  5. Hi Snappy,

I helped my parents file for all their forms, what I did was put the pictures in a small ziplock bag and stapled the ziplock bag in a blank paper, never had a problem with it, so maybe you can do the same.

Thanks soo much Lexlee for sharing...i will do that. Congrats to your mom and hope your brother can go with your mom...Good luck to your brother.

  6. thanks snappy for the moral.spend almost a day at the embassy a very long wait to call my name theres no big deal on my part, the CG is focus more on my childrens case.finger scanning ,a pre interview and the final decision of the CG.thats it,and now waiting time for our visa to be delivered.

how about your hubby? is he present also at the interview? did you bring with you your petitioners documents like AOS copy during interview? hope you wont mind my asking...did you send at the NVC your petitioners marriage certificate together with the birth certificate?

  7. was away for awhile,i just feel bad,so disappointing feeling of losing the amount of 1226 USD and a 100% of effort so the whole family could travel unfortunately my 2 kids who is 25 and 26 was denied of overage.i really really feel bad.i just wanted to share to those derivatives of this category that although you are included in the fee bill, medical and interview if you think you are below 21 on computation of the cspa age then go for it but if you are in doubt it is a choice to gamble.here is my data:my petition was filed jan 21,1988 was approved feb 15,1988 i received notification last june 20 2009 that our priority date is current and completed necessary documents november 6 2010,was set for an interview last april 28.on the other hand i was granted a visa with my minor kid who is 15.still waiting for the result of my husband sputum on the 17 of may. the CG told me to go first then petition my kids who are aged out that will be on the F2b category another 13 years on the waiting for my daughters to follow.haizt a very long process.

sad to hear about your daughters visa denials...anyways, GOD always has a plan for everyone...BTW, can you share with us your experience at USEM?

  8. oh its really a mess..coz according of my mom they registered nov 29 which is the date on their MC but the wedding ceremony was NOV 26 coz the judge is not available that day..grrrrr..so thats why they use the NOV 26 to registered all of our BC..but the NSO MC record it was NOV 29...

well i guess i dont have any choice than to change the error..but one thing i hate is it tooks forever to change even just one error in the philippines..sad but its really true :( ...

you're right...changing/correcting an error on BC here in our country seems like forever...but you can start now.

in my case i filed RA9048 for clerical error at LCR, it took almost four months for me from gathering all necessary documents and then monitor the whereabouts of my petition, now im waiting for my SECPA from NSO, almost finish, my husband filed petition also for correction on his BC and it has to go to court...we are stil waiting for the court decission..its been 2 months now, the cost? expensive....whichever, im just giving you some insights...
