Hi there,
My wife just passed CR-1 interview in last week.
After she enters US, when should she receive Green card and SSN? Should we expect any INS letter after she arrives?
thanks!
-
My wife passed interview in Guangzhou, China on May 16. It took like 1-2 mins.
I couldn't say enough to thank all of wonderful people in this forum. Your help/info have been awesome, we really appreciate!
Good luck to all!
-
wow, thanks to all!
-
I just called NVC, and the guy told me our case number is already assigned, he also told me the number over the phone.
Should I still expect it from regular mail? thnx!

Thanks a lot to all!

wow, good NVC thread!
questions:
1. We hired an attorney to handle my I-130 step. We will do the rest by ourselves. Do we have to inform NVC or other department regarding this change?
2. what's NVC phone number?
thanks!

If you'd like to do NVC Electronic Processing, you'll need to make sure that yer attorney is trained up to do NVC Electronic Processing,
or
ask yer attorney to step aside whilst YOU do NVC Electronic Processing.
NVC Electronic Processing is optional for GUZ IV, but using it shaves off 3 to 6 months of wait time.
So, get back with yer attorney, inquire specifically - 'Do you know how to handle NVC Electronic Processing for document intake, for a casefile headed to GUZ IV, or no?'
could you pls answer my questions in here? thanks!

Hi there,
We just got I-130 approval and head to do NVC electronic processing.
We want to find out how long it will take to reach interview date.
Based on http://www.visajourney.com/content/ir1cr1historical , it shows there are still step 3 and 4 ahead of us. Is this correct?
Step 4 is 'Embassy K-3 Visa Processing Time'. What is this? Do we need this K-3 stuff since we apply CR-1?
thanks a lot!

I filed on 08/05/2011, received approval email today.
Good luck to all!
question, though my case is handled by my attorney, what is my next step? Something like electronic step?
thanks,
CSC, btw.
I called them in the beginning of Jan to complain, but didn't write letters to my congressmen.
-
yes, this is what I was told by CSC when I called them yesterday.
I think this is total bull ####.
-
thanks, guys!
-
actually I called 800-375-5283
The guy told me they are working on the cases between 05/16 to 06/16, consistent with what other people posted.
And he refused to file a service request for me (my case started in the first week of Aug).
Why do they not accept my application for service request?
I am writing to my congressmen now, I suggest all applicants are screwed up do the same thing.
-
CA sucks, that includes CSC
-
They are having 4 weeks holiday period.
-
CSC probably is the worst, actually anything from CA sucks
I was told I was lucky when my case was routed to CSC, ouuch.
-
What does it mean? how can I check mine?
thanks, happy holidays to all (not to CSC persons of course) !
-
congrats!
those pigs finally pretend to work a little.
-
I think their job (USCIS) is to make sure you are screwed.
need to call Congressman, I am not sure if it will work.
-
USCIS stinks. nuff said.
as matte of fact, all US govt suck in big time.
-
When our case was routed to CSC in early Aug, we were told we were lucky since CSC is 'fast'. Lol
Are other centers as bad as CSC in last few months? It sucks, doesn't it?
-
Doesn't matter. These thing get transferred all the time depending on workload. As long as you got your notice that is all that is important. I doubt your attorney will be able to give you a better explanation. Sometimes one is faster than another, but in the overall scope of things the difference is minimal.
Thanks a lot!
Stamp of first entry on CR1 visa
in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
Posted
Hi there,
There is one such line in my wife's CR1 visa page:
"Upon Endorsement Serve as Temporary I-551 Evidencing Permanent Residence For 1 Year"
The entry stamp is:
"Applicant Advised of the Provisions of section 216 and of the procedures for having the conditional basis of his/her status removed"
I was thinking the entry stamp can serve as temporary green card before my wife receives the official one. But actually CR1 visa can serve this purpose. Am I right?
Anyway, can my wife use this combo to reenter US before receiving the 'real' green card? We are planning a trip soon....
thanks a lot!
