So you do the I-130 at the USCIS, then the AOS and visa application and documents at the NVC, then the interview in home country.
yeah, something like that.
-
IR2 is the visa class.
Did you do a K1 for your wife or the CR1?
CR1
-
It takes about a year, same process as a spousal visa. USCIS, NVC, consulate/embassy. So the NVC stage is normally 4-5 months after NOA2.
Actually I apply GC for my kid. Which visa is it?
When I did the same thing for my wife, it took 6 months for approval, another 3 months to get the interview.
USCIS time tracking page shows it takes 5 months in TSC to handle cases like ours. I received receipt in Dec, so probably I will get the approval in May, and interview in Aug/Sep. Does this sound about right?
btw, VJ page (http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/visa-bulletin-predictions-family-sponsored.php%EF'> is scary. It shows FB1 predication for Apr 2016 is 2008-09-17. What the hell is that?
thanks!

What type of visa?
"U.S. citizen filing for a spouse, parent, or child under 21", for Child under 21.

Thanks a lot to both!
Yes, I have SRC in my receipt number.
I assume the process time posted in USCIS page is for APPROVL (?). Next we have to go through Interview phrase. Normally how many months is between approval date and interview date?
-
Thanks NLR.
I know their process sucks.
All I want to know is if my case is processed in TSC or not, since TSC processing time on I-130 seems much better than VSC which is closer to NJ.
-
Yup... approximately.
"approximately" ?
LOL, thanks anyway.

Hi there,
I applied I-130 back in last Dec. I am in NJ, so I sent application package to USCIS Chicago Lockbox address.
The receipt I received was sent by TSC office.
Does this mean my I-130 is processed in TSC and I should check its processing time based on TSC info?
thanks a lot!

We received the approval letter today. The approval date is 10/24. VSC case.
thanks to all and good luck!

I don't care about the sucking VSC anymore. It just purely wastes our time and effort.
Hey, we were given the temp GC letter which is good for 1 year, I don't think we will still be waiting 1 year after.
-
what can I say, VSC sucks?
-
well, I notice none of VSC applicants is approved.
-
we received Bio letter on about 05/15;

Hi,
We sent the application package to VT office, probably when should we receive receipt number (by email or by mail)?
thanks!
-
do we need to provide joint bank statements for last 2 years, or 6 months is enough?
thanks!
-
Hi there,
We moved twice since my wife got the conditional GC.
So for no.22 in I-751 form, we have to list all the address change, right?
thanks!
-
You would show the statement from the joint account showing the payments made to the mortgage from that account.
yeah, this makes sense. thanks!
-
Yes, that's fine. Whose name is on the deed? Even though my name is the only one on the mortgage loan, my husband's name is also on the deed and so I provided 1. The deed, and 2. The statements showing we made the mortgage payment from our joint account. Good luck!
Thanks. But I don't tnink the mortgage statement can actually show that the payment is paid from the joint account, it's a bill after all.
Do I miss anything?
-
Absolutely!
encouraging! thanks a lot!

Hi all,
We are in process to remove GC condition for my wife.
We co-applied mortgage for buying our house in June of 2013. One of the evidences listed in I-751 instructions is:
"2. Lease or mortgage contracts showing joint occupancy and/or ownership of your communal residence"
Can we use our monthly mortgage statment (with both of our names on) as evidence for the above requirement?
thanks!
should I pay the fees now?
in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
Posted
hi there,
I am the petitioner, our case is to bring my son (9 months old) to US.
I just receive NVC letter yesterday. It contains NVC case number and Invoice ID number.
The first step mentioned in the letter is to "choose an agent". I choose myself as agent and submit DS-261 form.
The confirmation email has this:
"
Please allow two weeks for NVC to process your DS-261. NVC will then send you an invoice that includes an
Invoice Identification Number that you need to pay your fees.
"
My question is, since I already have Invoice ID number in the first NVC letter. Do I have to wait 2 weeks to get that Invoice ID numbe so I only can pay then?
thanks!
