  1. I woke up an hour early to check if there's any update from USCIS (which has been my routine everyday). I was expecting too much to get approved on April 6th.. laughing.gif for some reasons..

I felt frustrated cuz there's no update yet..

I logged out and did some chores cuz I was really sad! laughing.gif

I checked USCIS and VJ again, and I found out WE ARE APPROVED TODAY!! and it says the approval of our petition is April 6! Yahooooooooooo I'm really SOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY!

    congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. I personally have no idea.

The vague association between USCIS and tax dollars just cropped up in one of my small talks with my fiance. He recently got a notice about owing additional taxes to the US government. I just found it mildly ironic that he pays a small Philippine fortune in taxes annually and it's taking the government a while to decide whether he deserves to bring a loved one abroad to his country.

    Grace

grace, the topic was not meant to say that USCIS is funded by tax dollars.. what we're trying to say in the last posts with the other VJ member was that our US citizen fiances deserve to receive better services from the government...i hope it's clear now.. thanks.

  3. I understand perfectly: the USCIS is not funded by our tax dollars.

If you disagree, please tell me how you think the USCIS is funded.

we're not talking about USCIS being funded by tax dollars.. we're talking about our US citizen fiances' rights to better services from the government.

  4. we filed in November 2010 and still waiting for NOA2. im also wondering why it's taking them so long to process/ review our papers.. i dont understand why they have to wait for the 5th month mark instead of working double time to lessen the pile of applications on their table. it would do us all justice if they update us properly. some people are getting ahead of us in getting NOA2. so not fair.

  5. :ot:

Taxpayers? Taxes? Democrats? Republicans? What in the world are you guys talking about?

The USCIS is funded almost entirely by the fees from processing petitions.

    :ot2:

    Waiting is h*ll.

if you dont understand what we're talking about, better read throughly before you react.

WE had our NOA1 November 17th and just went past 4month mark last week...and it looks like we might have gottten our NOA2 yesterday... and got this:

From what we managed to find out..it's most likely our NOA2.

okay, but i dont understand why they didn't say it's been approved. i saw another NOA2 email and it doesnt look like this. anyway, i wish you the best!!! :)

  7. I was tempted to bring up the "good taxpayer" card if ever we have to ask help from legislators, but I was told that might not sit well if your congressman or senator is a Democrat :hehe: Might sound like you're a Republican with a beef against taxes.

    Grace

whether a democrat or republican, every US citizen deserves good service from its government.

  8. hey there...sorry to hear about the long wait...i haven't even submitted my petition yet...just trying to clarify one last thing...maybe you can help! my fiance was previously married to a us citizen...she filed for divorce so that she could remarry here in the states...however, philippines does not recognize divorce so what should i do?

try consulting with a lawyer first.

  9. We've been waiting for 140 days now! :( I hope NOA2 comes really really soon! Just don't think to much of the waiting, use the time to prepare the papers you need for the interview and get on with your life as usual. Do things with your SO online :) Just stay positive and think of better days ahead when you are finally together! :)

yup, we try to gather the necessary things for the interview to keep us from anxiety..thanks for being positive!

  10. What is the congresman able to do?

The petitioner's representative in Congress can assist in handling processing of the petition if it's more than the normal timeline already. Check this link

    https://writerep.house.gov/writerep/welcome.shtml

    Hope it helps.

Well, jimmy_jlyn is from VSC. We're from CSC. We have all heard how slow VSC is. Hopefully, all of our papers will get approved soon, both CSC and VSC! Just a little bit more patience..

They should hire more staff to do the reviewing of petition papers to keep us all going. Our American citizen fiances deserve a good service in return of paying their taxes!

  11. Present! We've been waiting for our NOA 2 for like more than 6 months already. My classes are over and I'll be graduating from college this coming April. So now I'm just sitting at home gathering stuff for the interview (whenever that would be) and trying to spend as much time as I could with my family and friends.

more than 6 mos? then the petitioner should try writing to their congressman. im also sitting at home and gathering stuff for my interview. gee, this has got to move faster.

  12. Hi guys

Just want to know how your petitions are going. We're on our 4th month of waiting. I hope our NOA2 arrives soon. We hope California Service Center gets things going for all of us who are desperately in need of an update from them!

How are you guys keeping up with this loooooooong wait?

  13. i'm just like you in the sense that im also asking the same questions you posted up there.. we filed in late NOV 2010 and we're still waiting for our NOA2.. I don't know what's up with USCIS and/or CSC as to why it's taking them so long to get over with initially reviewing our papers..but just the same, we wait.. it's been 4 long months and everyone says we're on the normal timeline.. whew! we cant wait to finish this K1 process.

  14. Well, its only a guess ... you can do your own analysis by looking at this list:

    http://cse.ssl.berkeley.edu/igor/vjdata/default.aspx

You guys are at position 125 ... they are doing about 25 per week (that rate can easily change) ... so you have 5 weeks ... so that would be April 21 ... thats a total guess.

    Good luck!

thank you for showing me that link.. whew! we're at number 125.. i hope things progress faster.. coz if what you calculated is correct, yeah we're a month away from being touched by USCIS or CSC..
