That is interesting to hear as no one else on here from what I have heard or read has had that experience, but it seems as though mine is taking a similar route from what I can tell based on what is written on the NOA, I sent an e-mail to the NVC requesting information if it had been received and they responded back with a no, but it says that if it was not received with in 15 days to send them a copy of the NOA and they would track it down, all sounds good but I don't have a warm and fuzzy feeling about it

Yep, I asked a tier 2 officer that the other day and he said that my petition would go directly to Manila and not the NVC. My buddy's petition arrived in Manila 5 days after he was approved.

USCIS told me over the phone that non immigrant visa's like an I-129f go directly to the consulates and immigrant visa's like an I-130 go through the NVC. My best friends I-129f went directly to the Philippines once he got his approval letter.

In my opinion, I will not give them any credit for them doing there job. Dealing with USCIS , I have gotten the worst customer service I have ever got from anyone. You have no clue what's going on with your case. They will lie to you just to shut you up. Does it really have to take 6months or longer to approve a case or send out an RFE? Everyone on here is treated like a pawn by them. I am a paramedic, the other day I got the honor of bringing back a 3 year old boy that was in cardiac arrest. Last time I checked he is in the ICU recovering fine and they pulled his breathing tube because he was breathing fine on his own. I got to tell his parents that we restarted his heart enroute to the hospital and did not lose a pulse afterward. His parents hugged each other but neither of them said thank you to me or my partner. We don't expect it because that's what we are paid to do. Those USCIS people getpaid to do what they do. I am happy that my approval is coming real soon. But I will remember everything that has happened to me and all of you during this process dealing with USCIS. My best friend bob got approved in 42 days in 2009 from the VSC. There is no excuse for having to wait 6 months. The VSC has approved a lot of cases the past 2 weeks, but were the hell were they a month ago?

Does anyone know if they have updated the system with the new date? I am sure it will probably be sept 13, but I was just curious.

I have not seen any activity from those hard working people at VSC this week. But I am seeing people getting approved from the CSC that filed during Christmas time. Hooray for them.

Ahh man, I am sorry you got sucked in! Lol. I know it's hard to say no. I am going to have to come up with some kind of plan to get around it if it happens. Maybe I could tell her, "if you make me watch Desperate Housewifes, then you will have to watch WWE wrestling with me" I may just need to invest in another LCD and DVR!

Being involved with this site everyday helps me to stay off the phone with USCIS so they can do their job. I mean I am sure the emotional distress of having an office with the office hours of 8am to 4:30 pm mon-fri is bad enough, and the physical part of the life of that place, we won't even talk about because I don't want to start crying for them. But a good suggestion for everyone is, if you don't like the words of somebody whining, then move to another post topic. Theres hundreds of them on this site. My best friend bob alrighty went through all of this but he hasn't made this site his homepage like I have. If your tough, then be tough. But no one should criticize anyone because they are not as tough as them. Here is some helpful tips to cope with having a distance relationship. I've never known a woman to not have her regular scheduled Tv shows. So Men enjoy your football and hockey while your waiting. And ladies, enjoy your time now because you know the litlle hairs that tend to get shaved everyday on a mans face are going to end up all over the bathroom counter everyday. That's what I'm looking forward to. But I will refuse to watch desperate housewives or the view. I am going to try like hell to get my fiancé lovin Dexter!

I am from Oklahoma and have dealt with congressman and senator. No legislative office can help expidite a k-1 visa unless your are 30 days past your five month mark. USCIS will send them a letter stating this. I have to wait until next Friday to hit my six month mark. You are not consider outside of normal processing time until then. But also if your case is with someone who pumps out approvals quickly then it could be sooner.

I made the mistake of sending it to the express courier site. They then mailed it to the lox box in Dallas and it was sent to VSC. Don't worry, it won't effect anything maybe just delay things for a day or two.

So basically the VSC and the CSC would conitue to function however the NVC would not. Right?

I contacted USCIS today and they said that they have not heard anything about it. She also said that they would not be effected by the shutdown. But then again I would believe a three year olds opinion after the shutdown before I believed there's. I contacted my senators office and they are going to try and find out, but he didn't think it would.

Well, my fiancée has her medical today and tomorrow. Got our fingers crossed and hoping for no problems.

My fiancé is from the phils as well. I was told that she can show up to st. Lukes early in the morning for her medical and it's a first come first serve basis. Is that correct information?

I wish you luck with it. Right now the normal processing times are 5 months, however USCIS will not consider a service request until thirty days past your 5 month mark, but it does happen before that. Call whoever you have to. If chuckie cheese can get them to move their asses then do it for sure.

So far I haven't read someone posted the good news of their approval today. You can also check lgor's list, it'll show (thats if they update their timeline)

You need to type out a letter of intent to marry within 90 days for both of you and sign it to send with you k-1. Go to the forms tab on this website to view a sample intent to marry letter.
