  1. The best way is to have DELICADEZA. I never accepted money from my fiance even if he offered. I have my pride because we are not married yet. When he visited me thrice...I offered to share expenses on food. Some Filipinas...and it's a fact...are just after a foreigner's money that's why some foreigners have the impression that Filipinas are gold diggers.

hey correction please. Happyandinlove is absolutely right. It doesnt mean that just because u are receving monetary help from ur fiancee makes u a gold diggerand not have DELICADEZA???. I had a job the time we met and he wanted me to quit my job so he heartily offered financial assistance to me.I did not asked and we were chatting everyday for 3 years before he met me.

"It's a fact"??where did u get that??Beside my husband is not stupid to do that for us if he knows i am only after his money.

Where did u get that fact?? The fact is me and hubby is happilly married for 4.5 years with a 3 yr.old son besides those 3 years that we been together online.

  2. WONDERING HOW TO MAKE MY FILIPINA ABOUT BUDGETING....SHE SEEMS TO HV NO IDEA OF WHAT IT TAKES TO MAKE MONEY AN BE ABLE TO SAVE OR BUDGET... SOMETIMES I THINK SHE THINKS MONEY JUST FALLS FROM TREES HERE... BELIEVE ME,,I NOT THE BEST WITH MONEY BUT I KNOW WHAT AN WHEN THINGS NEED TO BE PAID... IF I ASK HER WHERE THE MONEY WENT,,MOST THE TIME SHE GETS MAD BECAUSE I DONT TRUST HER WITH MONEY SHE SAYS... THANKS FOR ANY IDEAS....GREG

Well that is the most common mistakes we filipinas NOT ALL think especially when we are still in our country. We think money in america just grow on trees...lol( that's what i thought at first too).

My fiancee who is my husband now sends me and my family every month but whatever he sends me every single month may it be 100 or 1000.. is considered mine then he would and never asked me how i spent the money but i have to say it's all budgeted to last for a month.

When i got here and got a job of my own i know how to budget and prioritize things. BILLS first. Needs first before wants.

  3. Hello fellow members,

I am asking again ur help for a good friend of mine.

To cut the story short,,her USC husband has a child with his previous wife. Husband is unemployed for 3.5 years now and still no luck in finding a job.

My friend is not working since she got here coz she has two young twins. They are both depending on the husband's parents to survive.

Because her husband was not able to pay child support ,,the license was suspended and cud not have a way to get a job now.

The ex wife took the 5 yr old son to another state without his permission .

    here are her concerns:

1 what is the option they can have in order to at least get his license back?

2.what about his ex who took the child out of state without his permission? in the divorce decree they have joint custody but didnt say about taking the child to another state.

The parents can not financially help them pay the child support which now amount to more than 3k.

I wud appreciate ur help.thanks in advance.

    Her husband

  4. Did u include ur wife's daughter in the petition? She can come with ur wife as k2 or follow to join at a later date but within a year.

Sorry i missed the visa category. My 2 kids were petitioned by my USC husband thru I-130 or petition for Alien relative. If u filed for a K1 visa then her daughter can have the K2 but since she was not included in the petition then I-130 is the route.

  5. hello everyone.. i was wondering how to start a paper work for a visa for a step daughter, im in america and i want to get my wife's daughter to be in america, can somebody help me? thank you in advance :) she's 5 years old and my wife is done with her interview @ the u.s embassy in manila..

Did u include ur wife's daughter in the petition? She can come with ur wife as k2 or follow to join at a later date but within a year.

  6. yeah becoz im worried!my son has a Phil. passport already and now we got his US passport. but along with the envelope that USEM gave was the instructions on where the BI is and its stated that atleast 2weeks before departure i have to go to bureau of immigration to get an emigration clearance certificate thats why iam confuse.how about the fees?thanks everyone for your advices it helps a lot to me.

U don't have to worry about the permit. U can get it from BI or at the airport upon paying ur terminal fees. Not sure how much now coz i paid like 1,200 but that was 3 years ago.

  7. [i did reply in one of ur post. Exit permit is for those who are not Phil. Passport holder. Since u have both then u don't need an exit permit.

When i travelled back to US with my son i did get the exit permit coz he only had the US passport .I only got his Phil. Passport here.

  8. [

Please read my response next to ur last paragraph. I can not repost or edit it so it looked like my reply is a continuation of ur post..sorry.

And yes NOA 1 is a 1 yr. extension and 4 months is okay. I was there for almost 6 months and never had a problem coming back here in GA.

  9. Are there any expats on here that have experience with one or all of their children being born in the Philippines, and them getting the childs American passport at the embassy in Manila. Is a FS-240 all that is required? What other documents are required? How long does this scenario take from start to finish?

My wife is pregnant with our second child. The first was born here in U.S.A. Her due date is in Febuarary, and we have considered having the second child in the RP. She wants to fly over mid Nov. with me flying over later in Jan. We want to return with the new baby sometime in March. Does anyone with experience think this timeline is possible. Also if she flies to the RP in November, she will only have her NOA for her removal of conditions, she will not have her actual 10 year green card. My understanding is the NOA for removal of conditions will extend her residency for a year. Is her staying out of the country 4 months with just this NOA going to be a problem?

Mostly I want to know approx. how long it takes from time of birth until the child will have U.S.A passport. Any thoughts on the other questions are welcome also.

i can only share my own experience. In 2008 I went home in the Philippines just to give birth to our first child. I was 7 months when i flew. Only took me 10 days from the time i submitted the CRBA application till my baby had his US passport. It should not be a problem but u can call UScis. just make sure when she fly she will bring with her all her pregnancy records here in the US coz they will ask for it during her interview. SHe needs to apply for CRBA as soon as the baby is born.

    Thanks,

    Wyatt

  10. Has anyone went to the Philippines to fly home to the USA with your Fiancee? If so how did you get her on the same plane is you? Just curious hot to get a oneway flight for her and how to get her on the same roundtrip flight that I book to go to the philippines.

U have to call the airlines. When i went home in November last year i had a round trip ticket for me and 2 one way ticket for my 2 kids. I had to find a flight that wud let me and my kids fly together and seat beside each other. It was hard for me to do that so what i did was i asked help from a travel agent and she did it for me with no problem at all.

  11. Hello everyone. My fiancee arrived last month from Philippines, we married 2 weeks ago and now preparing to send the Adjustment Of Status Package... My question is, would it be fine if we go now in SS Office and try to change her last name (or add my family name) to her name? (she already have social security number) and if so what about our Adjustment Of Status Package, should we put my last name on it?

I am just confused and dont want to go through stuff over and over again just because of a change name.. Please help us. We are going tomorrow and will be reading responses before we proceed, appreciate you guys! Thanks a bunch!

Now that u have the marriage certificate ur now wife can use her married name in all her legal documents.I did use my married name in all legal documents after i got our marriage cert.

  12. I can't believe that one year ago today I was nervously waiting at the Atlanta airport for my fiancee and her daughter to arrive. Wow what a fast year. We married four days later, and I love her more every day. She is a true blessing in my life and makes me smile and laugh every day.

So many stories, so many laughs, so many adventures. I never knew that life could be this good.

I wish that every K1 journey was as lovely as ours.

    Thanks VJ folks

Congratulations and so happy to hear u both are happy together. Me and hubby's been married for pver 4 years now. There are ups and downs in life but we are still happy and in love with each other.

  13. Hi everyone! i have a question regarding my childs passport...First of all, my child and i were petitioned by HIS biological father who is my fiance. So while waiting for the approval of our I129f we applied for our Philippine passport me and my son. Then after all the paper works anf approval i had my interview and the consul found out that i should apply for my sons crba and US passport...My question is WHAT PASSPORT SHOULD I USE OR SHOW AT THE AIRPORT/IMMIGRATION?SINCE MY SON IS HOLDING A PHIL. PASSPORT AND US PASSPORT?thanks and God bless!

DId u already had an approved CRBA since u said ur son has a US and Phil. Passport? U can show both if they asked for both but wud use the US passport first so they won't be looking for the child's visa.

  14. Hi, I am trying to find out information about Passports. I live in the USA and my wife lives in the Philippines. Her name did not change after our marriage because we did not file the legal name change. She already has a passport in her maiden name. My question is, does she need to change her name and passport information to my last name before I file for her visa? I want to make sure I do this properly. The process is already complicated enough without adding more things to do. If anyone has went through this issue, I would love to hear your input. Im gonna be a DAD! :) So I want to do this as soon as possible. Thanks

If she wants to use her married name she can do it without getting a new passport. All she has to do is have her passport ammended if she don't wanna get a new one. If she wants to get a new one then that is fine.

  15. Suppose my kids are coming here with approved visa but they only have their passport less than 6 months with them will the officers or consulate let them fly to US or they have to wait out 6 months? Is there an exception for children or is this even an effective policy still? They will be coming from Philippines.

It is better for u to have them a new passport. The passport shud be valid at least 6 months..if it's less then it wont hurt u if u get a new one.

  16. sorry to hear this and we will pray for you&your children. others can learn from ur story. not sure why people act the way they do. maybe its culture shock that other people come here&all of a sudden they want it all. I had a friend at some point from the same country that once she saw her friends buying homes all of a sudden the mobile home she shared with her American husband was not good enough. She was talking about vawa&at the same time I did not know until now what vawa was. its almost like this: demand things from him cars, houses, credit cards and force him into debt and when he says no falsely accuse him&file a vawa claim. Hopefully you and your family can heal from this.

There are a lot if not all filipinas who are social climber.Once they meet new friends who are socialite or thave this and that.. she will also want the same.

It is sad but it is really true. I have seen so many filipinas here in GA who are so feeling,,as in very pretentious and social climber. We call it in our dialect "FEELING" as in Feeling RICH and Butiful even the ugly ones.

I still believe in the upbringing of one's self. I been here for almost 5 yrs. now.. I have a goo job working at a hospital..but i am still the same.People from my country would even tease me that i am already here in America and why am i stil the same?? Some filipinas once here already wants to act like an american liberated woman,,even to the point of pretending to be somebody else they're not.

Some think that u shud think and act like u are in america and by going to clubs, getting wasted some are proud of that showing their photos on fb in the clubs.

It is really sad but it is the reality..like i said NOT all but seen so many here.

  17. No offense taken. I agree with you wholeheartedly. It was definitely my fault which I stated at the end of my story, and the only thing I can say is the marriage counselling I received, along with advice from my church and pastor was behind providing me the "hope" that she was sincere and would change. Of course, at that time, no one "suspected" she was scamming me.

I have a philosophy on her too--There's a good reason she left us and went to California--it was to go to work for Hollywood, because she was a great actor! Maybe we'll see her on the next soap opera.

In hindsight, I should have simply allowed her to be deported and let her deal with that crisis on her own, but I really believed she'd change--and certainly hoped she would seeing as we had endured a huge investment bringing her here, and acquired bills needing to be supported by two incomes.

Perhaps "excuses" now, but they were enough at the time to convince me to give it another shot. I guess some people don't give up as easily as others, and I can be hard-headed at times in that regard.

I am so sorry and so sad with what u are going through right now. I am not here to judge anyone but i do think she does not really love u as much as u love her. Or she didnt even love u at all.

I been married for over 4 years and we been to the same situation u have now before when my husband lost his job and was unemployed for over 2 years.

I am thankful to God my husband is a god fearing man who truly, truly loves me.There is always ups and downs in every relationship but true love finds a way always.

I am just hoping that u will get over this and move on esp. ur young and innocent children. My prayers goes with u.I hope someone from here can give u an advice.

  18. My son's AOS application is still pending, we got an RFE last month, where he needs to have another medical and TB test. We just submitted the RFE last two weeks ago and his case is under RESPONSE REVIEW on the USCIS site.

My question is, can we go to Chicago, to visit my brother for a week before the school starts again this August.

I believe, pending AOS can travel WITHIN THE USA. Right?

That is okay.U will not be travelling out of the country.Just make sure u will bring ur NOA and proof of AOS.

  19. I am now thinking about all the things I need and want to pack when I leave next month to be with my wonderful husband-to-be. I already donated clothes and other stuff I won't be using anymore and planning to shop before leaving but I do not know what to buy! What are the things that are more practical to get here (I'm from the PI) rather in the US?

To all the ladies out there, what are the stuff you brought with you that you felt shy to buy in the presence of your man? Lol (You can pm me re this)

I've heard of "Tabo" but I can live without it.

    Responses will be appreciated. :)

Clothes are expensive here. Or if ur shoe size is small for US size then u can buy shoes as well. But u can buy everything here.I do shop clothes everytime i go home.Im not shy coz i make my own living,i work.

  20. Hi everyone.I petitioned my step son and his interview is scheduled for 8/2.He went for his medical at st lukes and on day two was told that he needs to see a psychologist before he can obtain his medical results.Does anyone here know if this is the normal proceedure for a child under 12 years old ? His grandmother took him to his medical since my wife is here in the u.s.and she was confused as to why they wanted him to go to see another doctor. Anyone been through this ?? salamat po

    jim

My two kids had the interview last year but they were not required to be seen by a psychologist or have psychological exam. My friend went through this,,the reason was consul just wanna make sure if her son is really her son because when the child was asked, out of nervousness he was'nt able to answer his date of birth correctly.

  21. took my learner's permit to drive today and I PASSED!:dance::dance: I was always reluctant to take the test for only one reason, I was sooo scared to fail. Since I'm on vacation from work this week, I took a 1 whole day of just sitting down and read the driving handbook online.

I swore I won't forgive myself for wasting $48 fee if I happened not to pass the test.

Congrats! why would u pay if u won't pass? It is really fun when u can go to places anytime you want to.
