  1. If you are talking about the CFO sticker, yes, they can prevent your fiancee from getting on the plane. I would check the CFO website for details. The CFO office in Cebu is staffed by nuns, and they were quite strict during my fiancee's interview (i.e. questions about the relationship/intimacy) and made her return a second time with MY birth certificate before they would give her a course certificate. You need the certificate in order to get the CFO sticker afixed in the passport. I would not take any of this lightly. Good luck.

Thank you for the info appreciate it.

  2. No, I believe the smear tests take a couple of days. In any case, you will still have to wait for the eight-week TB culture.

    oh I see. thanks

st. lukes is first come first served. No waiting or scheduling. The hard part is the embassy interview, and scheduling it. From what I hear you do not get much time online. But you cannot schedule until paid. the nice part is you can pay through bancnet or send money to your fiance via xoom, and she can pay right at the bank when she picks it up. Also, do not forget the CFO guidance session. Without it she cannot leave the Philippines. The embassy does not tell you this part. wish you the best....

does really anyone experience this that the immigration in manila denied the departure? This sounds a scam

Wow.. thanks for the info! I didn't know this part.

  4. Sorry to hear that you have to wait for the TB culture.

Please don't worry about your NOA-2 expiration date. It is very likely that you will be able to interview before the second week of August. St. Lukes usually schedules another interview for you within one week after you get the results of your TB culture.

If you can not interview before your NOA-2 expires, the Embassy will renew it for four more months. The Embassy does not close cases like your case because it is actively being pursued.

    Good luck! :star:

Thanks for your reply! I just hope my test will be fine. My doctor says that I'm fully cured but can't help but wonder how things will turn out for me :(

  5. I have to go for sputum test too on May 24,25,26. I had a history of PTB 4 years ago. At St.Lukes they did saw a scar in my lungs. According to my family doctor I am cure. Is the sputum test will be negative too?

  6. Lena decided to go last Monday for her medical exam in Kiev, Ukraine and because the doctor questioned something on her chest x-ray, she is now required to take a 6 hour train ride back next Monday for 3 daily sputum tests at 50 USD each test. We pray all will go well and then pursue the interview. Keep her in your thoughts Decemberites and thanks.:(

Awww :(. Sorry to here that... wish both of you all the best..

For my medical should I tell the doctor that I had PTB?

  7. Tita Ning Ning,

Because of the PTB that will show on your X-ray as white opaque (scarring), St Lukes will most likely require you to undergo sputum testing. They will look for evidence of active/ inactive TB and they must use the criteria from the CDC (United States- Center for Disease Control). I would bring my Physician's Medical Clearance Certificate and I would get a few copies of this; but be sure you give Civil Surgeon the original (you will have this back). When you do deliver this form to the Civil Surgeon's office you carry it in a SEALED envelope from your MD. Again, prior it the original being put in that envelope you make sure they give you a copy of it. More than likely, you will have to sign off a release of Medical Hx. (gives permission for your MD to release your medical history to anyone). That Release of Hx needs to accompany your Medical Clearance of said disease. I want to be honest here and you should expect delays from St. Lukes (they have a history of delay for TB lab testing). Plan on this and do not book any flights until you have that Visa in your hands.

    Signed,

    The Shoeless One.

    Tita Mari.

I am reading on some other thread here that some people do advance medical exam... Anyway, I will call St. Lukes tomorrow to see if I can do a advance medical so we can find out soon.

    Thanks again

  8. I have a question.

7 years ago I was diagnosed for minimal PTB (Pulmonary tuberculosis) I went through 6 months treatment and I always do an X-Ray once a year since then and I am now clear. My doctor told me that she will give me a Medical Certificate. But I'm still a bit concern that maybe even if I had all that certificate from my doctor they might still have me to do the SPUTUM test. :help:

  9. Hi,

I have a question. I have Minimal Tuberculosis findings 7 years ago and I have been treated for 6 months. I've been doing a follow up check up once a year since then and they only see a scar. Do you think even if I have my medical certificate from my doctor they will still ask me to do SPUTUM test?

    Thank you
