Hi All,
I'm just getting ready for the NVC stage (we're currently 60 days after NOA1).
I'm just wondering what paperwork I need to have ready in time for NVC to fly through it.
I know I need to get ready the: I-864, Tax Transcript (petitioner's), Cover letter, Answers for the Ds-260/Ds-230
1) Do I need the beneficiary's birth certificate at NVC stage or is it only for the interview?
2) Do I need the police clearance for NVC stage or just for the interview?
Are there other documents that I Need to submit at the NVC stage or are all the other documents for the interview stage?
We submitted divorce certificate, marriage certificate and such for I-130, do we need them again before the interview?
Just a little confused...
I've read the guide but can't figure out how/when they request these documents.
Thanks,
J

Hi All,
We received a text as well as email stating that the USCIS has been received and routed to the California Service Center.
Is this considered the NOA1? I'm confused...
What's next to login to the website to keep track over the next 5 months? (How do I set that up)
Thanks all for all the ongoing help!

Hi All,
I know there are timelines/timeframes on the website but they are allover the place.
I just want to have an idea of what to expect for the number of days it will take until
we get an interview & final approval for POE.
I appreciate any advice!

Hi All,
My husband mailed our I-130 today to start the process for me to immigrate to the US.
Thanks so much for all the help and resources on this website. I don't think we would have
gotten this done properly if it wasn't for this website!
I'm sooo nervous now.
What should I get ready in the meantime while we wait for the NOA2?

What I meant is, we're getting married on Saturday but I think the office is closed until Monday (not too sure how that works).
What's the earliest the minister can file the marriage so we can get the certificate in person?
I'm trying to avoid having to wait for the mail...

Hi All,
We are getting married shortly in Vegas.
We are getting married on a Saturday and then leaving on Monday afternoon.
Is there any way to get the marriage certificate quickly in person before we leave?
The minister said he will file it first thing on Monday (can he file it before then? I think they are closed?)
We have our application pretty much ready to go. Just need to get married and get the paperwork all together.
Let me know,
Samantha

Citizenship through "Parents" Can check NO if do not have a certificate, and attach a copy of US Passport as evidence of citizenship.
Naturalization has to do with entering the USA getting green-card and the applying for citizenship 3-5 years later by self.

Hello,
My husband is american (was born to an american mother) but he was born abroad.
He has a Consular Report of Birth Abroad (was born an american and this was filed).
I'm not sure how we are supposed to answer question #13.
Is it Naturalization or Parents? If it's parents, do I answer Yes or No to the second part of the question?
(Give certificate Number, date & place of Issuance?).
Or do I just answer "Parents" and leave the other part blank. He doesn't have a citizenship certificate as he was born American (only the report of birth abroad).
I really appreciate the help!

My husband and I just got married. I'm in Canada & he's in the USA.
We have not lived together but have been dating for 4 years.
I was wondering if the following will be enough for evidence of a bonafide marriage or if we need to have his house put under my name (a little time consuming and would like to get the application out asap)
1) Add each other as "supplementary" card holders for our credit cards, provide the statements are proof
2) I have added him as beneficiary for my RRSP (401K type of fund), employee stock option funds etc...
3) Some invoices showing calls between us over the years
4) A document showing many of the flights I took to see him (from the airline's website) along with SOME of the boarding passes (I don't have most of them).
5) His phone records showing calls between us
Is this enough or do we need to put the house deed in my name and/or add me as the beneficary for his life insurance policy?
Please let me know, trying to get the paperwork together!

Hello,
I am getting married to my fiancee in March 2012 in the Caribbean.
We want to get the visa process started but have absolutely no idea how we should handle it.
I am Canadian, he is American. We plan to live at his home in the US.
I plan to live and work here in Canada until right before the wedding so I need to make sure that no matter how we handle it we can just enter the US together after the wedding in the Caribbean.
1) Should I get the fiancee Visa, go to Caribbean and then enter the US with him on the fiancee Visa then file our paperwork?
Does the marriage have to TAKE PLACE in the US or can it occur anywhere as long as it happens within 90 days?
2) Should we get married prior to our Caribbean wedding to legitimize it and file for the K3? (Is that right, K3?)
I don't understand the steps that we need to take to ensure I can enter the country and stay legally a year from now.
Please help!
Thanks,
Samantha
