you seem to be the only name caller here Sofiyya... what is your problem dear? no one is "hating" on you though you seem intent on projecting the wrong idea of what a muslim is... why is that? what IS your agenda?
how am i not being friendly to muslimS? (didnt realize you were more than one person). IF you are a muslim, and by asking you questions on a thread you began, you consider that to be "not very friendly", then perhaps you should not begin threads asking questions then blowing down the answers you receive as "wrong" "wrong" "wrong" but not providing your "perfect" answer since everyone else seems to provide you with a "wrong" answer. be prepared to provide the "correct" answer when you blow people off.

The vitriol drips from your posts Sof. You asked no innocent questions, and true to form excommunicated a fellow member of your faith for the, in your mind cardinal sin of daring to disagree with you.
Keep up the good work teaching us all about the peaceful, loving, wonderful kindness of your beautiful faith.

I don't remember if it's done every time but I have gotten pat downs when leaving India, in security right before getting on the plane. (double security lines when leaving Mumbai). It's of course separated by gender and there is a cloth curtain to stand behind. No way would I want a male officer, neither in the US or India. In these situations, it's much more appropriate for it to be same gender.

guessing here that you dont have children; once you do then you will know whether or not you are one of those who get them or not and it will put your mind at ease. there is a nice market for those who fear the stretch mark
look at your mother, if she has them you probably will too; if she went through 6 kids and hasnt a one, then you probably wont either. depends on genetics and skin elasticity.
lotions wont hurt you and are nice for your skin, but they will not prevent or eliminate stretch marks
men too get them, especially football (american football) players who bulk up then lose weight.

    http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/o/cochrane/clsysrev/articles/CD000066/frame.html
    Abstract
BackgroundStriae gravidarum (stretch marks developing during pregnancy) occur in over 50% of women. There is no evidence that any treatment removes striae once they have appeared. Some women are upset about the change in the appearance of their skin.
ObjectivesTo assess the effects of topical treatments in preventing the development of stretch marks.
Search strategyWe searched the Cochrane Pregnancy and Childbirth Group's Trials Register (April 2004). We updated this search on 1 October 2009 and added the results to the awaiting classification section.
Selection criteriaRandomised trials comparing active creams with either no treatment or placebo for the treatment of stretch marks in pregnant women.
Data collection and analysisTwo review authors assessed trial quality and extracted data independently.
Main resultsTwo studies, involving 130 women in total, were included.
One study, involving 80 women, indicated that, compared to placebo, massage with a cream (Trofolastin) containing Centella asiatica extract, alpha tocopherol and collagen-elastin hydrolysates was associated with less women developing stretch marks (odds ratio (OR) 0.41, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.17 to 0.99). A second study of 50 women compared massage using an ointment (Verum) containing tocopherol, panthenol, hyaluronic acid, elastin and menthol with no treatment. Massage with the ointment was associated with less women developing stretch marks (OR 0.26, 95% CI 0.08 to 0.84)
Authors' conclusionsTrofolastin cream appears to help prevent the development of stretch marks in pregnancy in some women. Verum ointment may be helpful but the trial had no placebo and may show the benefit of massage alone.
[Note: The three citations in the awaiting classification section of the review may alter the conclusions of the review once assessed.]
    Plain language summary
Creams for preventing stretch marks in pregnancy
Stretch marks may be prevented in some women by daily massage but it is unclear if any particular ingredients bring special benefit.
Stretch marks are common by the end of pregnancy, occurring in most women. Though they later shrink and fade somewhat, they do not go away. Therefore, any treatment which prevented them would be welcomed by many women. The two papers reviewed may show that any cream massaged onto the abdomen, thighs and breasts (areas most affected by stretch marks) may help a little. There may be additional benefit from certain ingredients in the cream and the ointment described but it is unknown which constituent(s) is beneficial. Neither preparation is widely available.
    ------------------------
it was 2 tiny studies (130 women total) using a cream not available to the public and this write up sounds like perhaps a university doing drug trials for the drug company... common thing here at OSU. conclusions are author's only, not those of the study participants.
truly, speak to any group of mothers, obgyns, and get the scoop. the cosmetic companies who sell these creams are out to make a buck... i used nothing because my dr told me same as any legit dr will tell you "if your mother had them you will have them, dont waste your money", and i dont have even one. i know two women who look like they were carved up from their chests to almost their knees because even their chests (not just breasts) and arms and thighs got it, though both of them gained HUGE amounts of weight when pregnant too so that probably contributed. if your skin does not have elasticity it will not handle huge weight gains like that.
so anyway, was just trying to dispel the myth perpetuated by drug/cosmetic companies... hate when people get their money ripped off. some nice oil massage is just as nice, less expensive, and benefits the skin after a shower to hold moisture in, as well as continued good diet and exercise during pregnancy is best.
some people treat pregnancy as an excuse to lay around getting fat

I really have to bite my tongue sometimes because I am so tired of rude people saying things such as people like me need to get their head examines. It's called difference of belief. No one has all the answers of this entire universe, and if they think so, they are kidding themselves. Some people just can't get off this whole "if God exists then why does He do this and that, or doesn't do this." No matter how many times people give their own explanations for why they believe, it doesn't make the questions stop. Just move on, people believe in something you don't. You don't need to ask them why all the time.

Critics of President Obama’s are abuzz with the charge that the American government will spend $200 million a day, or a total of $2 billion, to send the president on the 10-day mission to four countries that began today.
Except there is no evidence that it’s true.
Government officials said Friday that the rumored costs — which began from unnamed sources on a TV station Web site in India, the first stop on the president’s trip — are false.
In a posting on the White House blog, Dan Pfeiffer, the communications director, called it “a long trip from reality” and said the rumor so far overstates the amount actually to be spent that “it’s not even close to being true.”
That has not stopped some of Mr. Obama’s critics from repeating the rumor as fact. Rush Limbaugh, the conservative radio host, announced simply: “Two hundred million dollars a day this nation will spend on Obama’s trip to India.”
Fox News host Glenn Beck calculated the total 10-day cost as just “$2 billion,” adding, “We have 34 warships — have you seen this?”
In response, Geoff Morrell, the Pentagon spokesman, dismissed as “absolutely absurd this notion that somehow we were deploying 10 percent of the Navy — some 34 ships and an aircraft carrier — in support of the president’s trip to Asia.”
“That’s just comical,” he said. “Nothing close to that is being done.”
In fact, the $200 million-per-day figure would, according to factcheck.org, be higher than the daily cost of the entire Afghanistan war, which the Congressional Research Service puts at about $190 million per day.

I don't care for her a lot personally...but I guess you have to defend your fellow party member sometimes in the case of Guiliani. And yes, I guess it's part of wanting to fit into a mainstream Republican view. Although, if 2 out of 3 in the country do not think Palin should be president, are the 1/3 mainstream Republicans? I don't know.
The fact is, Obama did not have more experience or qualifications in my opinion either. He just talks better and had ideas that more people liked. That doesn't mean he was very experienced.

    Yeah true....
But someone should make one of those flow charts about religious stupidity combined with logic to find out someone's level of stupidity. It can start with "Religious" at the top, next down would be the choices of "I would vote for Palin" and "I wouldn't vote for Palin", and so on until you reach the assessment.
Of course people like you who aren't stupid enough to believe in a God don't need such charts, you're all amazingly smart people, usually with hearts of gold.
Someone plus one'd your insult to me. I just love this place.
