  1. My fiance had a interview yesterday and stated that the IO was being a real jerk asking him stupid questions that made no sense. The IO made fun of our relationship he made jokes about how much money I sent to my fiance and ridiculed the pictures that we took, asking who are in the picture he said its my fiance and my friend and the IO said are you sure thats not you and jermaine said of course thats not me, his friend is brown skin and my fiance is dark skin plus his friend is short and he is tall ####### the IO was a #### I would think

what I would like to know if there is anyone in the same situation that have successfully got approved in the end. After the petition was returned to USICS for further review

Now...a very common trait that all of us may see eye to eye with whether it was from experience or through third party experience is the frustration that comes with the journey we must all go through to get what we need. :)

In Jamaica they say "if yuh want good yuh nose haffi run" but I must say I do not agree with the tone in which you have displayed here after the result of your fiance's interview. :o

If you feel as though your fiance has been mistreated you can put that in writing "Properly" and send to the relevant body. You will not be the first and last couple to have their case sent back because of failure to convince the Officer that your relationship indeed a bonafide one. "All" questions no matter how foolish they may seem is to help the Officer make the decision as to whether he/she believes the relationship is fictitious or not.

:ot2: My heart goes out to you at this time, and I do however urge you to do your research as it pertains to the current status of your case in making an appeal or to wait for a review from USCIS.

No matter how frustrated I do not believe you should lash out at the Officers of the United States Embassy in that was to come on this website using foul languages like that.

I hope someone on here is able to assist you :help: ...or at least share there experiences and results

  2. Hoping to get some good answers here.

Ok so my fiancé still hasn't got his visa yet. Other people who had their interviews after he did already got theirs tuesday and Wednesday. Does anyone know how I can contact embassy. I looked at the Jamaica embassy info tab and the # isn't there anymore.

When he got approved I waited 2 days and checked DHL said shipment picked up or whatever so I thought it was on it's way. I'm an idiot I go and book our tickets. Go to check next day it says on hold and hasn't changed. I'm kinda worried. Our flight doesn't leave till Dec 1st but still. I already know I SHOULDN'T HAVE DONE THAT but it's to late what is done now. I've emailed them but no answer. So hoping someone will help out with a number that will get me straight to a person....

    Thanks so much I'n advance.

Which date was this that your fiance had his interview? Also I have seen where it takes 14 business days or more for individuals to receive their passports and packages. What you should do is to also check with DHL via the telephone and not their website as my package had arrived the day I called but it was not updated on their system online as it was still saying "On Hold". Now you have already pointed out that you should not have bought tickets but I wish the best for you in receiving the documents as you have 2 weeks and 4 days in total until the first/exactly 13 business days.

As it regards to communicating with the embassy, if your husband case is in the printing department it is up to the discretion of the agent reading the mail whether they need to reply to you are not. But I do hope they do. If you've sent your email already as you previously indicated allow them the 5 business days to reply to you. Try not to resend the same questions multiple times.

I wish you the best of luck but I have a feeling you'll receive your package on time, its natural for us to worry and freak out in these situation.

    Good luck and Blessings...

  3. No home deliveries, but it can be delivered to a business.

Has anyone had to every wait a long period?

; My interview was on October 25th and it now November 7....anyways had to wait a long time for delivery? I know its only 8 working days or 13 days anxiety is killing me especially since they pointed out i'd need to travel before December as that is when my medical expires.

  4. I agree with everyone, PLEASE just wait until his scheduled Medical appointment.

You do not want to interfere with this part of the process just follow the instructions as to where the Consulate has made clear that you need to have the medical completed, all shots elsewhere is such a short time may be disregarded, and will result in waste of time and money.

But glad to see you have gotten the far...Good Luck!!

  5. I need help.. my finacee has his medical on Nov 9 and interview on Nov 21. he just realized he hasn't had the hepetitis shots. What is the best way to handle this, since I hear the shots must be done 6 weeks apart.

I am not sure I follow...the dates mentioned are current dates correct? When you go in to do your medical all shots that are outstanding will be given to you and you will pay for those. You take along your immunization card and the medical representatives will determine what shots need to be re done or just done in general.

    I hope this info helps.

  6. Hi Everyone,

Can everyone who's been approved approved for the Immigrant Visa at the US Consulate here in Kingston Jamaica, give me their timeline experience as it relates to how long it took for them to receive their Passport with mysterious brown envelope :help: . Whether it was delivered by DHL or you had gone to the DHL offices to pick up.

Thanks in advance for your replies...

  7. At the point of the process that you are at now, THERE is NOTHING that can be done until your father receives his new-updated valid GC. The embassy will not go forward until they see the GC. I know all of this is hard for you, but it is what it is.

I hope you have a Happy Easter....

Hmmm...Thank you very much for your answer, all of this is not hard i am only asking questions which I assume is fine.

I will have a great Easter as I am sure you will as well

  8. The whole this will not be waived you're an adult .. they are not dealing with a minor. But keep in mind polices are in place to keep consistency and hold a process so even when a minor is involved required documentations won't be waived... and should because i had to do it and so should everyone else... it's an american thing. The petitioner could have renewed his 10 year green card 6 months prior to the expiration on page 3 on the form I-90 section F on the rev inst 11/23/2010 it states that the applicant can apply to replace his/her card that would hav expired in 6 months.... there would be a high change that he could have received or a proof I-551 which the consulate does not provide.

    I-90Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card10-year renewalMarch 31, 2009

    source - https://egov.uscis.g...TimesDisplay.do

The embassy has no regard for the soon to be expired documents that might expire because they see those as things that can be easily done.... they might-be costly yes.. but it all comes into play with US immigration.. which the petitioner/s should be prepared for especially in this uncertain time in the USA. I have no other suggestions and I'm sorry your father went to Jamaica without first taking care of himself... as the embassy would never request to see the spouse but just documentation on the person.

    Have a good day.

Oh my...I will try to clear a few things up first.

My father - is not my petitioner my step mom(US Citizen) is my Petitioner

The Embassy had an appointment for Me the Beneficiary and my Dad (father) they collected DNA samples from both of us at the Embassy (we both had appointments) for the samples to be collected.

I know they have policies and are very strict...They never asked for anything from my father until they asked for DNA only to prove I am my fathers child and that my step mom can file for me.

  9. that's a long shot. The embassy is ONLY there to help him get back into the country by issuing the Transportation letter. He can file a renewal request online at USCIS.GOV which extends his status for 12 months while the case is being processed. The consulate just might accept it.... might.

Yes I am aware the embassy is ONLY here to help him get back to the US...that is why i have done up all the necessary applications and we are no awaiting a call or at least further instructions for him to collect the previously mentioned letter.

As for the temporary proof valid for 12 months...I have already asked and that will not be accepted.

So that is why i am now wondering about the idea of the whole thing being waived because we are uncertain when my dad will receive his new card we are wondering what other approach there is. As the longer this takes, I will have to re do my Police Record Certificate which expires in a few months and also my medical , they all become expired this year. Not only is that time but also expensive....and after completing all of those plus paying for a DNA for over 700US the thought of spending more more terrifies me...I cannot afford it.

    Please advise me...anyone

Thank you very much in advance

  10. Does anyone know how long it takes to receive a new PR card?

Ok guys....no one has answered this question (sadly)I also need more advise. So we manage to apply for a new card from here in Jamaica thank God. But my dad is still stuck with me in the mean time. Now here is my question...I had my interview and the CO said that everything look good except she was unable to issue the visa (because of the obvious fact - my dad's expired card)...Now only is it an inconvenience to have my dad here for an unknown period because he is waiting on a transportation letter to go back to continue the process of retrieving the new card, I was wondering if I had a letter or some document put together by a lawyer stating that I wish to have a waiver of the document requested and be able to travel with my dad back to the states, seeing that he came here not noticing the card had already expired and conducted the DNA testing here with the hopes of accompanying me to the states if that would help with the issuing of my immigrant visa and we could hopefully be able to travel together when he receives his transportation letter.

Is this a long shot or possibility?

  11. First look on the USCIS site to see how he will apply for a new card. I am a little confused, b/c GC's that were issues 20 years ago didn't have expiration dates, unless your father sent in for one of the new ones and it was issued with a expiration date. If that is the case then he will have to go thru the process of obtaining a new card.

I am as lost as you are, his card does have an expiration date, omit the comment about the years. All I know is it is expired and will in some way affect my current situation. Please not he is not the Petitioner for my case but a copy of his PR card was requested by the counselor officer.

  12. Help me out here, so your father has applied for a new GC. But he doesn't have any documents showing that he has done this. He will be waiting on the new GC(Pr) card to arrive from the US, so he can fly back.

If he doesn't have any documents to show that his GC has been extended or he has applied for a ne GC, then you will have to delay your interview. You can always email them and ask.

No he has not applied as yet, he has never reapplied for one while still here. We only realized that the expiry date has passed because I am now copying the documents for my interview next week.

I sent an email to the consular office just now asking what the steps are in reapplying or obtaining ones PR card once it has expired.

Do I email them telling them that my dad's PR card has expired or just a request for a new date?

  13. My latest update:

After my DNA testing I was contacted informing me of my next appointment scheduled in May.

A few weeks after I was sent an email of available slot in March and that my appointment date will be changed.

My next appointment is a 'Blue Sheet' appointment or document submission which they often say whenever I am contacted.

Now my appointment is next week and we just realised that my dad's PR card has expired. they asked for tax returns and a copy of his PR card as well.

He came into the island so we both could go to the embassy for the sample collection for my dna test and now i have an expired PR card.

Do i take a copy of the said card and take it in with the rest of documents or do I contact the embassy informing them of the said discovery?
