  1. Hello,

We had planned to have my fiancee do her medical on the 19th and 20th. I am not able to be there with Sarah for the medical nor interview so Sarah has her aunt for support. Sarah had already gone to the first day of her medical. She has gone to her second day today but St Lukes had sent her home. Sarah has told me everything had checked out fine except for her X-rays. They told her she had some phlegm on the X-rays. I hate this long distance when I am talking to Sarah because I don't hear everything clearly. St Lukes has scheduled her to come back for the sputum test on Oct 3,4, and 5. Why???? I want to call St Lukes but I want to get some input from the members first! MY PATIENCE IS WEARING THIN. Anyways my questions are:

    * Do you think there is a concern considering her physical and blood tests checked out fine?

    * There is not a spot of tb is from what I am told by Sarah so why the sputum test?

    * Why do they schedule the sputum test so far out like two weeks?

    * Do you think I can call to schedule a closer date for the sputum test?

    * Or please advise on my situation....

    THANK YOU

  2. Yes congrats on a smooth approval! I hope it goes as easy for us except my fiancee will be without me at the interview. She is happy but nervous. I know she will be fine because there is nothing to hide. Try telling that to her! Haha.

Congrats again on the painless interview!! Wish us the best!

  3. She has to pay this in cash (pesos equivalent) when she goes to St. Luke's Extension Clinic. It's a hassle I know. I hope they would implement a safer and more convenient way for applicants to pay. Walking with almost P10,000 in your pocket isn't too reassuring.

No. It's a first come, first serve basis. Pre-registering online will help her skip or expedite the 1st steps.

You may want to look at this guide to have an idea of what happens during the medical exam:

    http://www.visajourn...am-walkthrough/

In my opinion, a BPI Branch if you have one near you or her. You have to pay Php 15,050.00 (peso equivalent).

But to help you decide, in this page are the link to the payment methods and the comparison among them:

    http://www.ustraveld...entoptions.html

I scheduled mine a week ahead of the interview. Even so, the results from the medical will be valid for 6 months from its release (which is why the visa when issued is valid for 6 months or depending on when you had your medical).

An early start is always advisable for me. A Monday and if she could the earliest appointment time (6AM). Just so they have working/business days after your interview. I had mine on a Thursday and the long weekend was killing me (Labor Day weekend). There are 3 options: 6:15am, 6:30am and 7am. Either of these, you would still be there earlier than your appointment, so why wait and prolong the agony? I had mine at 6:30am and was done at 11:30am.

The long wait is because consular interviews start at 8:30am. The 3 slots above will help you get in earlier than the other applicants. I was there 5:30am and there are a lot of people in line already. They sort you out per appointment time. :)

Even so, it would boil down to how prepared you are for your interview. Good luck!

Haha I know! When I told Sarah how much the medical and interview cost in pesos, she kinda screamed inadvertently.

I want to pay the $350 online so I hope it is safe! I will use the link you gave me. I will schedule the interview at the earliest thanks!

  4. 1. Is there a current way to pay the $213.35 for the medical online or does she pay at the time of the medical?

She has to pay it at SLEC in Philippine currency on the day she will have her medical.

    2. Do I need to set a date for the medical after registering or can she show up anytime with the printed registration?

Nope. She can show up anytime. I went to SLEC 2pm and finished it around 8pm. She can start in the morning if she wants but the line

    starts at 430 am.

Just bring her printed registration form and show it to the guard. Let the guard know it is an online-registration.

BTW I finished my medical in 2 days time. First day was the medical process (2pm - 8pm). Second day was vaccination and result

    (1pm-630pm)

:star:hope the helps. Sorry I can't help you with K1 process.

Thank you for all the help! All this wait is making Sarah nervous for the medical but she is ready haha. I will let her know to show up early and willing.

  5. Hello, Please assist.

I have registered for Sarah's medical on St Luke's Medical website.

    1. Is there a current way to pay the $213.35 for the medical online or does she pay at the time of the medical?

    2. Do I need to set a date for the medical after registering or can she show up anytime with the printed registration?

I want to schedule her interview this month.

    1. What is the best and safest way to pay online the $350 required to schedule the interview: a. BPI or Bancnet and b. what link using my credit card?

    2. How many days out from the medical is safe to schedule the interview and which is usually a good day during the week for the interview?

Any additional input is much appreciated!

    Thank you VJ members!

    ds-157

    NBI

    Cenomar

    I-134

    Last year's tax return

Congrats on the sweet and smooth approval! Let us know how the rest of your journey goes. Darren, or anyone else, these forms were needed? ds-156, ds-156k, ds-157. I didn't read these are required in the interview process. What are they?

  7. U have to call the airlines. When i went home in November last year i had a round trip ticket for me and 2 one way ticket for my 2 kids. I had to find a flight that wud let me and my kids fly together and seat beside each other. It was hard for me to do that so what i did was i asked help from a travel agent and she did it for me with no problem at all.

*****Nice***** Using a travel agent sounds most logical, most convenient, and therefore less stressful. Thanks I will remember this!

  8. Hello everyone, we were a Feb. filer too! My fiance just finished her medical appointment today and we're just waiting on her long form birth certificate to come in the mail and it's interview scheduling time for us. I never bothered registering on this site during this whole process, but I wanted to take the time today to do it and say thanks, this site turned what was a fairly intimidating sounding process into a piece of cake and I'm very appreciative for this site and its community! Good luck to everyone still in the process!

Congrats to your NOA2. We cannot schedule my fiancee's medical. There seems to be a delay in getting her passport and I believe she has to have her passport to schedule the medical. Either way she has to have passport for her interview too. We are now in a holding stage until we receive her passport. And yes this site has been great on understanding the whole process.

  9. Yeah hands down, Xoom has worked the best for us for sending money. It takes seconds and is most convenient. They no longer require that my fiancee remembers a security code. We have tried the other ways of sending money and they were just a pain and time consuming. With Xoom, use your bank account versus a credit card because its most efficient and cheaper. We love it!

  10. Funny I was wondering about this 'touched' thing too. I am signed up with the USCIS site. However the only thing it gives me for my case status is that it is in 'Initial Review'. There are 4 categories given when i check my case status: 1. Acceptance 2. Initial Review 3. Decision 4. Post Decision Activity. I have been on #2 ever since my file was received Feb 15, 2011, and I am signed up for case updates. There are no dates given to see if a file has been touched. Am i not seeing something right or has the site changed?
