  1. Yes, that's why I don't be so insist. What if he's right? For me, better talk than argue, better discuss than fighting, better to compromise than being selfish. Thank you, Austramericangood.gif. Like teapotgurl suggests,I'll have all documents so if when get an RFE, I already have them. He said that all proof I've prepare is designed to spesifically for K-1 Visa, not for I-129F.

Proof of ongoing relationship is not required for the I-129f petition so you won't receive an RFE for this. However, it is recommended for some embassies/consulates (like Morocco, where COs are known for often not looking at any evidence brought to the interview) to front load the petition with any evidence you want to be sure the CO sees. Maybe you can find out from others who have gone through your specific consulate to see if they recommend front loading. If they do, then maybe you can explain to your fiance that although its not required, it will help you at the time of your interview. Good luck with your journey!

  2. I sent pictures from our engagement party with the I-129 as well. I had the takchita, tiara, henna and all. I was a little concerned after reading some things about people having problems with photos that resembled a wedding, especially since my fiance gave me a set - engagement ring and wedding band - and you can see I am wearing both in the photos, as well as him wearing his ring. After the party I explained to my fiance and his family how it's done in the US and only wear the engagement ring now, but he wears his ring all the time, and I have also worried how it will look to the CO if he wear it to the interview. When I mentioned this to my fiance, he told me not to worry about it, because if the COs know anything at all about Moroccan customs/culture, they'll know that's what they do in Morocco. He has his interview later this month, so I guess we'll see if it comes up at all.

  3. I called DOS yesterday and now I was told his interview is November 23. I don't know if it was rescheduled (possibly because of AID?), or I am just getting mixed information from DOS. Still have had no reply from the consulate. He did schedule his medical exam for this Friday and asked if he needed his interview letter. The woman he spoke to told him that it is NOT needed and doesn't know why people think it is. I guess we will know for sure on Friday.

  4. Just sent Fai's package for the interview to Morocco via Fedex. I had been debating about how to send the package and had to weigh my pros and cons...I thought I would share it with you.

The package consists of a HUGE Binder and a photo album...so there is paperwork and pictures only. It weighed 13.5 pounds. I had it packed by the FedEx Staff member in a Fedex box. I spent the $7.95 on this packing but felt it might help speed things up at customs since their packing tape states it was packed by FEDEX staff member.

    Pros:

    1) they guarantee delivery by a certain date (unless there is ahold up in customs)

    2) you deal with one company on both sides of the ocean (unlike the US postal service handing off something to the Moroccan postal service)

    3) They will deliver it right to the door (including rural locations).

    4) they have a great tracking system and easier avenues of recourse if the package is held up somewhere.

    Cons:

    1) It was $400.00 to send this package

Yikes, and I thought the $178 I paid was bad. But I probably didn't send as much as you did, as my fiance is taking care of a lot of it on his end, printing out chats, emails, photo album, etc. But I would have paid any amount I had to to make sure he got it. I don't trust the postal system at all in Morocco. He's never received anything I mailed to him.

  5. You do need the interview letter for the medical exam to be completed. The visa forms are online and you can fill them out and scan them in pdf format and email them to him, I did that and they accepted the forms. I would recommend he goes to the embassy with the email trail from NVC stating they sent it to the consulate and wait in line outside and talk to someone at the window to see if he can get the letter from them he will have to insist he needs it for the medical exam. It beats waiting on them to mail it to him, mail service in Morocco is very bad. I would call now and set the appointment with the doctor just to get on the schedule atleast 5 days before the interview. Dr Alan (Alain) gives you the results the same day. He needs a copy of the interview letter and any pictures (3) of himself.

He will need his birth certificate, court report, police report (originals) and all translated into English there is a translator in Rabat that also does this is one day. Oh and two passport pics US size the photo places know the required size.

Bring conversations with any additional pictures.

I got the interview letter in April via email and the hardcopy got to my husband's house three weeks after the interview.

Good luck, i know it can be stressful.

Thank you. My fiance will download all the forms and fill them out. He has everything else ready to go. Just waiting for the interview letter. We will email them requesting that they email it to him, and I will tell him to go ahead and schedule his medical. If he does not receive the letter by email by the time of the medical, I guess he will have to go to the consulate like you suggest and try to get it from them. Thanks again!

  6. Hi there.

Did they email him and you something? I ask because my husband and I received an email for our interview. The interview letter was this email with an attachment. The attachment had a list of everything that my husband would need for his interview. I am not sure whether this is different because we are doing a CR-1 but, I would imagine they had to notify you some way. If it was via email, and there was an attachment than that is his letter of appointment. We were told nothing would come by mail. Perhaps, just a suggestion but maybe you can call the NVC and see if someone there can intervene for you. I know people will say no they won't help but, hey it is worth a shot. Wishing you all the best of luck and lots of prayers. (F)

No, we did not get an email from them about the interview. Last we heard from the consulate was 9/7, when we received a reply to our email asking if they had received our case from NVC. They replied they had received it and would be mailing the packet of information and appointment letter. Six weeks later we are still waiting for the packet.

Thank you so much for your good wishes, and good luck on your husband's upcoming interview!

  7. plzz help?? i am at the stage of I-134 for support...I am the petitioner, i know i cant sponsor cause i am disabled and my income is low..Can my mother sponsor my fiance without my father's approval?? Also can i have 2 co-sponsors? i read you can but im not sure..Im at a dead end and the interview is soon...:(:( thank you Jaime&Khalid

FYI... I believe you will need the I-864 instead of the I-134 for a K1 from what I have read here. To be safe, I sent both to my fiance.

  8. No can do. Incomes are not combined. Your answer was spot on until this. The father could co-sponsor INSTEAD of the mother and then only the father's income would count, but either way, only one can sponsor and the incomes on a joint return must be delineated for each person.

Incidentally, disability counts as income and I find it hard to believe a fully disabled person would not qualify given the rather low income needed to qualify. $1600 per month will do it.

Since the Consulate in Casablanca has been requiring the I-864 rather than the I-134, I would think they could combine their incomes if needed with one parent filling out the I-864 and the other the I-864a. However, since she is asking if her mom can co-sponsor without the approval of her father, maybe the father is not willing to be a co-sponsor.

  9. You can look many of the forms up online and he can start to fill them out now. I did that with my fiance before he actually received his packet. Also, your fiance needs to complete his medical exam before he goes... has he done this?

Yes, as I said I know we can get all the forms online. This is not a problem. And no, he has not done his medical, because from what I understand he needs the appointment letter for this. Or am I misinformed about this?

  10. Do you know what is in Packet 3? For Mexico, "Packet 3" was just the interview invitation letter that said they were ready for us to go ahead and schedule an interview. If it's the same with your consulate then you're not missing anything as the interview is already scheduled.

For Morocco, packet 3 has all the forms he need to fill out and take with him to his interview, instructions about the medical, (all of which we can get online), but most importantly, it contains his appointment letter, stating the date of his interview. In Morocco, the Consulate schedules the interview and then sends out the packet with the appointment letter. The only reason I even know when his appointment is, is because I called DOS.

(I guess it is actually like packet 3 & 4 together.)

  11. I called DOS earlier this month and learned from them that my fiance's interview has been scheduled for November 7 and according to them packet 3 was mailed out on September 24. My fiance still has not received packet 3. We have emailed the Consulate in Casablanca about this, and received and automated reply to wait 10 days for a response due to the heavy load of email inquiries, and not to email again before we get a reply. It is past the 10 days and still no response from them. We have tried several times calling the number listed for questions, which is only available from 3:00 - 4:00 pm weekdays, and have not been able to get through. Both he and I tried calling the main number for the Visa Office, and I was told to call the number we have not been able to get through to, and he was told simply to send an email and hung up on. I don't know what to do at this point. I know we can download all the forms we need from the website, but he needs the appointment letter for his medical and to get into the Consulate. Even if they mail out another packet now, I am afraid he won't get this in time, or not get it at all again. We will try to send another email, but as long as it takes them to respond, I don't know what good it will do. We are running out of time and I don't know what to do. Does anybody have any suggestions what we can do to actually get an answer from the Consulate and to get the appointment letter in time for him to do his medical and go to his interview?

    Thanks for your help.

  12. Aid Al Adha it's not on 7 November because the Arabic calender is depend on when they see Moon (Arabic months have 28 days or 29 days or 30 days) so right now it's will be on Tuesday Wednesday or Wednesday Thursday and it's my change depend on how many days will be in this month

I hope it's van help you

    Thank you!

  13. As the previous posted stated, there is a waiver available, but from what I understand they are very rarely granted. She would have to supply strong proof of her medical condition and inability to travel. Is there another place you could meet that would not be too far for her to travel, and that you could more easily get a visa to? If not, I guess you can try to apply for the waiver and see what happens. Good luck to you.

  14. I called DOS this morning and was told my fiance's interview is scheduled for November 7. He has not received his packet yet with appointment letter to confirm this. My fiance just realized November 7 is Aid al Adha Holiday. According to the consulate's website, no interviews will be conducted on American or Moroccan holidays. Does anybody have any idea how long we might have to wait for a new interview date if they need to reschedule due to their mistake of scheduling him on a holiday?

    Thanks your your replies,

    Marie

  15. If I understand correctly, your lawyer is telling you that by amending your past taxes to only claim 1 child this will decrease your household size and therefore lower your income limit to be able to sponsor. Even if you did amend your past taxes to claim only one child, it won't change anything. All your children have to be counted in your household size whether you claim them as a dependent or not (even if they do not live with you).

  16. you can get the packet 3 ,you can down load it, department of state forms, look at the casablanca morcco embassy info on top of this page scroll down to packet instractions, and documents you need , don't wait for them you send to you, you get the form ready and send it to them or fax it,

Thank you for your reply. I know we can download all the forms he needs, and we will probably do that if he does not receive packet 3 soon. But he does not send anything to the consulate in Casablanca, he takes everything with him to the interview, but we don't know his interview date yet because that information is in packet 3.

  17. When my husband went through K1, it took 3 weeks to receive it. Mail is slow in Morocco. The Consulate schedules their own interview for K1s. Send an email directly to the Consulate if you have more questions. Good luck.

Thanks for your reply. I know how bad the mail is in Morocco, anything I have ever personally mailed him he has never received. That's why I'm really starting to get worried that either he will get it so close to his interview date that he won't have time for his medical, or worse yet, won't receive it at all before his scheduled interview. I'd feel better if we at least knew the interview date at this point. But we will try to email the consulate again. Thank you!

  18. How long does it take to receive packet 3 from the consulate in Casablanca? Our case was forwarded from NVC on 8/16. My fiance sent an email inquiry the end of August and he received an email from the consulate on 9/7 saying they have received our case and would be forwarding the packet and appointment letter "shortly". I called DOS today to see if I could get any more information, or interview date. The woman I spoke with told me his packet was mailed on 8/24, three weeks ago. I asked if there was an interview scheduled, and was told that an interview would not be scheduled until he returned the papers from packet 3. I told her from what I understand, all the papers would be taken with him to the interview, nothing is returned beforehand, and his packet will contain an appointment letter with his interview date. If this is the case, how could they have sent out the packet on 8/24 and not have an interview scheduled? She replied again that the packet was mailed out on 8/24 and no interview is scheduled. I am really confused now. I tried to call the consulate, and was given a number to call between 3-4 pm, but when I called this number all I got was a recording in Arabic. My fiance is going to try to call this number, maybe he can get some answers. Should I be worried that he has not receive packet 3 yet? How long has it taken others to receive it?

    Thank you for your response!

    Marie
